Sciency stuff in The Empire!

I'm making this topic to discuss what should be going on behind the scenes in the Empire, and to get my NPC Prime Genjuro Kazamatsuri introduced so that everyone can get a good feel for his personality in case they wish to use him for any plots.

Also, need Omni's permission to use Gero here. But I'd like to post a back and forth with someone else taking control of Gero for this story.

Namely I would like to get them hanging out, doing some experiments, maybe test battle some of the basic Battle Suits/Demons Genjuro can easily provide against prototype things. More specifically, I'd like to get Gero hooked on the genes the Demons provide as the Demons from Hades Genjuro summons to experiment with all run off of Fear Energy. Diablo is specifically good at Terror and fear based things, so delving into this aspect should obviously have a lot of potential if Gero and Genjuro can turn that passive ability into a much more focused and weaponized form to act against fear based powers that Diablo himself uses. As Dr. Gero is known, to those that even know of him, for his works against Diablo this is a good topic to follow I think.

Well, I can try my best at playing the role of Gero if no one more qualified comes along. I need my roleplaying outlet anyways. I'm not an expert on the character, but I can give it a shot!

I'm the NPC guy, so I'll gladly play Gero to your Genjuro. This coming week I'll actually have some days off from school, so it'll be a good time to collaborate and whatnot.

I like your desire to pull in genetics.

I'd be cautious play Gero as anyone who gives a shit about actually fighting Diablo's forces by any means. That'd be like saying Josef Mengele's experiments were motivated by his desire to fight the allies. And by 'hooked' do you mean himself being addicted or simply becoming fascinated with them.

Well, what I meant mostly was that Diablo's forces will probably come back and having successfully made things against them before Dr. Gero is experienced against them and is probably under some orders to find more ways to fight against Diablo should he return.

Genjuro's pet project should probably be Secondary character DesX. She is the same type as Desco and looks exactly like Desco except unlike Desco DesX never really left Genjuro and as a non-prime she obviously has some disadvantages here.

His other main projects he would probably continental some work on is..

Demon Clones: In Genjuro's lab he typically clones all the interesting subjects so as to experiment with them further.

Battle Suits: Something of a side project, but he uses one of these himself. They multiply the wearer's power so that even a kindergarten girl could defeat normal demons in one.

he is a bit of a movie buff so new projects generally take movie overtones. He would be excited to make a new Godzilla creature or design a zombie virus.


Being motivated to use them is what I mean. Genjuro's pet project should atest to how useful they can be.

I was thinking of something like this, lemme know if something needs changing before I post it. This is what I got so far.

A little girl floated in a tube though clearly she wasn't human. Her ears were pointed and little light purple horns adorned her forehead in her purple horn around one of the green eyes that are all over her body. She seemed to have clothes that were nothing short of a lovecraftian theme with thigh high boots and gloved hands connected to sleeves all the way up to her shoulder, but with her shoulders and neck bare. Her humanoid eyes were closed and she looked peaceful in that test tube. A man sat there looking puzzled at her with a glowing blue computer screen in front of him. Numbers and chemicals buzzed through his head as Genjuro tried to puzzle through the mystery of all the missing functionality that DesX once had. She used to have similar powers to Desco but ever since he'd summoned her into the Omniverse DesX's powers were clearly different. Reconstructing her body at a cellular level bit by bit through nanomachines to the exact specifications he had naturally committed to memory changed nothing which could only mean the world worked differently here, but so far his experiments with her body had only tripled her previous power.

He pushed off from the station on his wheeled chair and pulled to a different project. This tube held a creature that was deteriorating rapidly, twitching as its flesh melted away. It was a combination of two things. One was something he found here wandering about in a forest. A small electric rodent with a lightning bolt tail and cheeks that generated lightning. This curious subject was deconstructed and combined with a Dragon demon he'd summoned for the experiment to see what would happen. The results were predictably bad, but the analysis equipment attached to the tank discovered many nights worth of data to pour over so that he could see how. He glanced at the latest status on the computer screen at it's station. Surprisingly the thing was still alive though it was long past the point where it could be conscious. Probably the dragon's demonic fortitude at work. It was still producing a large amount of electricity which was surprising. If he had to guess, it had something to do with the magical power of the dragon since the electrical sacs were pretty much gone now.

After a late night's work, Genjuro found himself looking for inspiration elsewhere. Naturally, what the boss man of this facility was up to should be of some interest and it would be good to try and get to know the man though he seemed to be pretty rough around the edges. Genjuro recalled something saying that he was working on a new experiment though because he'd became engrossed in his own work Genjuro didn't realize that it was a few days ago since he had heard. He entered the room where the man was typing into a computer and knocked on the wall to announce his presence. "So, I heard you have something new in the works, how is it going so far?"
