Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP)
Can you rack up "Copyright" violations in a post, as a character tries to learn Omnilium?
No one in the OV has the resources or even cares enough to be like, "Yo! This Prime stole my idea and magically made a copy of it!"

They would literally be in litigation over it forever.

If a person switched from a character, are they still eligible for Bonus OM for threads they took part in?

Personally I don't think they should, but I believe we do give them 50% of what they would normally have gotten, in line with OM deductions after switches.

Since I'm pretty sure I understand the context for you asking this question: Was Crocodile a switch from Cell? I thought he was a switch from Ussop
He was, but Usopp was a switch from Ganny and there's a few threads I did with Ganny that never got bonuses. And also, just in case I wanna pop a character onto the Jeff profile later on. I probably won't bother with it, since it seems like work, but it's good to know.

Seeing as how Greg didn't give out retro-bonuses when he upped the OM for Writing Bonuses, I'm going to use the date of that update as an informal statute of limitations. Otherwise you sure as hell can assume I'd be resubmitting all my previous stuff to get those extra 25/50%s
That's fair. This wasn't a "better rewards" thing, more of a "never got rewards to begin with" thing.

That said, I was just curious. Like I said, I'll probably never be assed to actually submit anything.

Two Questions.

1. Can you instead of purchasing them as an Assist - use NPCs as moves, if the NPCs are a weapon?
2. Related to the previous question, can you pull from different continuities of the characte for items/equipment/what not?
1. As the rules say, simple, single-minded characters are okay to use as moves and not assists, but if you want them to be really sentient and fight on their own, it will need to be an assist.
2. There's nothing stopping you, as long as you have the OM and it's somewhat reasonable, no one really cares if you give Goku a lightsaber- so alternate variations of the same canon shouldn't be much of an issue.

@Matt:
Addition to 1. You can have another character be the "weapon" in a super move. For example, Dane could have a super attack where he summons a dragon and that dragon breathes fire on his opponent. But, obviously, that dragon only lasts for a short while - only long enough to breathe fire. If you had Goku as an NPC, you could have the super attack be him doing a big attack on people. But, again, it can't stay any longer than the move itself lasts.
In addition to the previous answers, an NPC who transforms into a weapon could also be purchased as a move.

For example, if you were playing Maka Albarn from the anime Soul Eater and had her partner Soul as an NPC, she could have him in his scythe form as a normal 300 OM move.

I don't know if this is intentional or a "Rules as Written" vs "Rules as Intended", but do ranged buff moves actually require ranged proficiency? My reason for asking is because the description specifies projectiles or attacks. So if a buff move isn't based on a projectile, can it be done without Ranged Prof?

Quote:Ranged Proficiency – 1000 OM
Allows you to purchase moves which use projectiles or attack from range. For example guns, bows and long-range beam attacks.
A further comment based on this point is that "WAAAAAAAAUUUUGH!" (see move examples in the rules), doesn't have range prof. listed as being needed. Only buff. (And I don't know if it's intentional)

So, would I be correct in thinking that if I buffed an ally, (let's say filled them with adrenaline or something like that) from 20m away, I wouldn't need ranged proficiency?
Does anyone know what the Star Pieces do or is that a find out when you get it basis?

@Gil: They all do the same thing (apparently). As far as I'm aware, it's not public knowledge (and I don't know what they do).

So, yeah. If you wanna know, beg someone who does have/has had one to tell you, or get one yourself.

I think the Ranged prof might have been mistakenly left out of "WAAAAAAAAUUUUGH!", because Bloodlust includes it.

Quote:Bloodlust – Tier 1 Super Utility – 600 OM (requires Buff Proficiency, Ranged)
Rehgar digs deep before infusing his allies with a berserker strength, granting any friendly characters within 10 metres a buff. The stat boost of ATK+3, SPD+1 is spread between the number of allies.

I think it's generally a good idea to have the Ranged proficiency if you're, y'know, writing moves that affect someone from a distance.

Question about the the smallest a prime can be. With shrink and a alternate form is it just three inches or smaller? and if its smaller is a inch too small?

"While shooting concentrate your mind, gently muttering the spell to the Mini-Hakkero. Aiming at someone you don't like, a magicannon of love will be unleashed!"
Fixed Waugh to add the Ranged in.

3 inches tall and wide is the minimum you can shrink to.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
Let's say someone wants a move with a gun to shoot bullets. As one variant, the bullets can be made larger. As another variant, the bullets can be made to explode on contact. Would this move cost 900 OM or 1200 OM if both variants can be used at the same time (to shoot large explosive bullets)?

Might not be the best example of a move but I couldn't think of anything better :frog:

This signature is so overloaded...
Assuming a base of normal sized, non exploding bullets... it'd be 1200 OM. Normal. Big. Explodey Normal. Big Explodey.

Gonna disagree here, Jeff. It'd be 900.

300 - Normal
300 - Big
300 - Explody

On the assumption that big bullets didn't make the explosion bigger.

Ebony's Elemental Blast is a more extreme example of something similar to this. (e.g. she can shoot a homing explosive spell, or just a homing one, or just an explosive one - only paying 300 for homing, and 300 for explosive, but not paying extra to be able to use them together).
