Maybe I should stop being dead

[Ari]

Cat was curled up in the corner of the room she'd been using while in the endless dunes. She hadn't really left it since she had arrived in town, nor had she been checking her email on the pad she had. Most of her time had been spent drawing or doodling, and letting Daxter do most of the communication needed. 

She felt scared, and rather helpless. She wasn't strong enough to help anyone, even Daxter. Her trip to find him had taken longer than she had expected...  Time wasn't consistent in different verses she assumed. What had been days for her was weeks for Daxter. 

"I...  Need to get stronger Daxter. I'm useless like this. I can't even keep myself alive on a straight path"

[Jak Mar]

Daxter made sure to sit near Cat, he'd been thinking.  Without Jak around, or his girlfriend, Daxter would have to pave a new life out. He had grown to like Cat since she had been so close to him and made sure he was healed.

"Cat... You are strong... both of us are... "


Daxter felt himself lightly crying and wiping some of the tears off in his ottsel fur. "Cat... we gotta stick together if we wanna survive in this harsh land.. Jak would want us too. Granite would want us to as well."

Daxter smiled "Besides you got Orange Lightnin' on your side, that .. can't be too bad, could it?"

[Ari]

Cat smiled weakly at Daxter and hugged him close. She could feel her own cheeks becoming damp. His soft fur was warm and comforting, and she cuddled him a little closer.

"I... I don't know if I can. I'll try. For you and Jak and Granite. I just.. I want to go home. I don't feel safe."

[Jak Mar]

Daxter lifted Cat up in his arms "Hey, This is home for us now.... I've... learned to accept that... "

"Jak can summon things, we can't. So i'll provide for us the best I can until we can find a way to leave the dunes."

[Ari]

Cat giggled and poked Daxter's nose. He'd forgotten something rather important.

"I can summon things too Daxter. I just don't. I wouldn't know what to make. How do you think I got my tablet? Or the doll?"

The objects in question were both sitting out on the bed. Probably not a good spot, but Cat hadn't felt the need to hide that she knew Nealaphh.

"I can't even control my own powers. I don't want to do something by accident."

Daxter forgot, it was so long since Jak had summoned something for him and then left him here with Cat. Maybe that was a good thing after all?

"I forgot already, Cat. I feel embarrassed about that. Daxter had his own little scarf around his neck and still had his googles.

He had a knife on his back in case he had to fight again.

He smiled at cat and hopped on the bed "Hey cat, I heard about so much we missed. The dunes don't have ways to update us on information. All I know we should send Jak a message, see what he's up to..

Last time i heard, he was headin' toward the F-Zero races in Coruscant in Sector 4.

[Ari]

Cat tilted her head and motioned for Daxter to bring her the tablet. She hadn't heard anything about that before. Or maybe she had and just hadn't been listening to Daxter.

"I can send him an email if you like? I should really stop hiding in this little hole I've dug. People need me, right?"

[Jak Mar]

Daxter smiled "Go ahead, I also need you... You've been my friend here since... well a while.."

I think we should stock up with necessities before we head out to find Jak.

[Ari]

Cat nodded, writing on the tablet in her loopy cursive. She paused after the addressal and turned the pad towards Daxter.

"Would you like to write something to him? I.. Don't know what to say. "

[Jak Mar]

Daxter nodded

"Dear Jak,
This is Daxter... I bet you are missing me right now but I am with cat and frusterated. What are you up to? Why didn't you tell me you were going to race in the F-zero races?

After a few rough hours, another click appeared on Cat's tablet "Is this the rat? "

Daxter blinked as he looked over the table "WHAT ra- Torn?!"

Daxter sat on the tablet and looked at Cat "This is Torn, Jak and mine's old boss and now friend..." "Wonder what he wants..?"

[Jak Mar]

Daxter saw Torn via face-to-face communicator as the gruff voice spoke to Cat and Daxter. This is Commander Torn, i found out some info about the F-zero races. If you find a way where we can all meet up, we can become some sort of team again.

[Ari]

Cat kept out of sight of the pad's camera, curled up hugging the Nealapph doll.

"We... Can travel. W-where do we need to go? I think I can get us there without getting lost."

Cat looked to Daxter, hoping she'd given the right answer. Torn was... His friend. He could be trusted... Right?
