Do I have to complete the game in a Let's Play
#1
Thinking about showing off me playing (and failing) Sabrewulf.

I really don't want to complete the whole game on YouTube because the amulets you have to collect to finish the game are randomly placed. My viewers might get bored of me just wandering around the 256 screens of Sabrewulf's maze.

Is it proper etiquette to finish the game on a Let's Play video?

If not, what is the proper name for a video series where I do not finish the game, but rather upload samples of the game with my commentary?

Depends how you want to present yourself. There's no rules to let's plays and how they are handled, only you make the rules here.

But as a frequent viewer of said genre, I'd suggest either not show that stuff or just stuff it all in one large video and set it aside. I mean, I guess it really depends what kind of let's player you want to be; the type that makes glorified walkthroughs or just a straight up entertainer.

I don't think you have to document the entire game to make an okay Let's Play video, it's mostly just your commentary and opinions on the highlights/prominent aspects of the game that matter. If you played all the way through it, that's pretty much a Walk-through and would possibly bore people like you said. Iunno though, I'm not a YouTube expert!

I'll just go with both your answers as I do make different kinds of gaming videos. Thank you.

You could record, and then speed up the time you take of you going around colecting the amulets. Potentially adding some nice music, something that follows your personal theme, the channel's style, or the game's!
