So yea, what about concurrent topics? Can I be roleplaying my character in multiple topics occurring separately?

Unfortunately we can't. One topic until it's finished. I'm no staffer, but I think it has to do with the fact that each post increases your "Earned OM" so if you're in multiple topics then it's kind of abusing the system.

Mmm, you can't say it would be any more 'abusive' than posting in a topic by yourself RPing by yourself. That would after all, always be your 'maximum gain' if you were trying to game the system by avoiding ever being dependent on other players being available to post.
And what if the other person suddenly stops posting? I don't really see much of anything on this topic in the rules other than arbitrary limits for fights.

This topic is clearly clarified here: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://omniverse-rpg.com/omnirules.php#RPingRules">omnirules.php#RPingRules</a><!-- l -->

That topic does not address either of the questions at hand. That is kinda... why I'm asking about it.
Can a character be in two topics at once? Answer: No.(Not in the rules) What if other players stop posting in the topic you are in? Is there anything that applies to this situation? Answer: ???

Yes it is...."Time travel, being in two places at once, 'flash-forwarding' etc is a no-go." That is rather definitive on the first. Having two topics at once (unless you are playing the role of an Npc for someone) would be having your main character in two places at once. On the second you can write by yourself - skip over the player, or wait. Additionally, you could have someone else who is free join your storyline.

I've run into that multiple times, the other person bailing. You have the option of writing as though they left and continuing on your own or just saying it's done and go back to doing your own thing. I was on a mission with another player back when I played Spawn and he just stopped posting and Omni told me I could just keep going and phase him out.
