Share your crazy game stories!
#1
I figured I might as well start a thread over this as I occasionally have those games where something happens that I just want to share - and I'm sure you all got those stories too! Be it an intense situation where you make an epic comeback, a wombo combo that you pulled off with your teammates or anything else that other people should hear about!

Make sure that you:
-Name the game you were playing
-If it's an obscure game do consider providing a little context
-Name your story for extra awesomes

Dota 2 - Duel of the nooblords
For those who don't know Dota 2, it's a MOBA like Smite or League of Legends - you have minions going to the enemy base, which you must destroy using your unique hero and their abilities before the enemy team does just that to you. The most played gamemode is 5v5.

I was playing Legion Commander, a melee fighter which gets stronger the longer the game goes on. Legion Commander, or LC as we'll call her, has a unique ultimate ability which allows her to engage an enemy in a duel - they are forced to attack you and vice versa. Whoever wins the duel by killing the other is awarded a permanent attack damage buff. In other words, a good LC can grow out of control enormously fast by winning duel after duel with no upper limit (as opposed to normal heroes being limited by the six items they can carry at a time) - or she can screw herself and her team over by buffing her enemies.

I was accompaigned by Zeus, Razor, Chaos Knight and Skywrath Mage, against a Pudge, Techies, Io, Lina and Dragon Knight. Note that this game took place at rock bottom of the Dota 2 player community, as I'm just getting started (level 2 as I'm writing this).

Zeus disconnects before the minions even spawn, with Chaos Knight making it halfway to the lane before he too disappears. The remaining three of us split the lanes up among ourselves, with me taking mid against Pudge. We're angry, but we believe we have a chance. Why? Because at our level, it's more than likely that the enemy will get leavers or feeders too. The question isn't "will there be leavers?" but "how many will there be?" Our patience is rewarded as soon, Io disappears as well, putting the game at a 3v4.

Things start going south when Pudge and I hit our level 6. He lands a hook or two, following up with his ult which gets me killed. I end up 1-3 or some such when our Skywrath Mage decides that fighting Techies is annoying and comes to help me. There's a lot of back and forth, I die a few more times but also land a few good duels, putting me at 5-8. Pudge and Lina wind up being the strongest, with Pudge roaming and hooking my teammates. Suddenly, Razor ragequits.

Oh no, it's a 2v4. And Pudge appears to have figured how to use a second hero, so Io comes around occasionally. They collectively push mid and gank our lanes, pushing us back to our third tower. Believing that we have a chance if we force some of their barracks down I tell Skywrath to hang in there. He does not respond. Then he suddenly gets hooked, combo'd down and seconds after his death, ragequits too. Oh no, I am alone against four of them! What now? Should I just leave the game and let them have the win? Then I remind myself what I once promised to do in League of Legends, before I quit: "If you surrender you cannot win. If you fight until the end you can win, as slim as the chance may be. Never surrender." With new determination, my hand grasps my mouse faster and I move in.

Outside of Techies none of my opponents seem to grasp the idea that they are four versus one - splitpushing all three lanes would defeat me. No, they must get that midlane barracks! Techies is idly farming and pushing top, Lina roams between mid and bot, Pudge is shoving mid, and Dragon Knight... I don't even know. With nobody to contest my farm I go about farming creeps like crazy, and the good old Courier aids me in getting items. I get Moon Shard and Silver Edge... and suddenly the game's course changes as Dragon Knight decides he's bored and leaves as well. Lina, Techies and Pudge are left.

Li Shang's voice resonates in my head, yelling at me to be swift like a coursing river and forceful like a typhoon as I begin turning the game around. Aghanim's Scepter in hand, I duel Lina and Techies when they dare come onto the Radiant side, with Pudge forced to watch the duel, unable to interfere. My attack damage rises out of control. Fighting among creeps I make sure that my passive gets proc'd so often that their abilities damage me no more - I lifesteal it all back. My armor keeps them from doing much, anyway, and if Pudge does get me low with a well-placed ult I can stealth away from him thanks to the trusty Silver Edge in my backpack.

Suddenly, the announcer tells me that Roshan was slain! Oh no, what shall I do? No enemies to be seen on the map, were they all fighting the dragon? No matter, I push forward through the bottom lane. Wave after wave of creeps falls to my spear which by now is but a flurry in the air and I approach the third tower, when Pudge shows his face near my middle tower. How could I forget?! It lies there, within reach of his gory meathook! I rush forward as fast as my Power Treads will carry me, and moments before the tower falls I appear behind him and challenge him to a duel. And as he falls before me, I whisper to myself: "You shall not pass."

Time to move in. Techies is at top, Lina is coming towards me on the middle lane. The flames of her magic engulf me but I run right through them and slice her to pieces with a few slashes. Then I keep pushing. This is it. Pudge has recently bought back before dying and cannot challenge me, I am topped off thanks to my W, there are no items I could want - I have been sitting on over 10.000 gold for a while, in fact. I could upgrade my Silver Edge, but that would require me to visit the Secret Shop, and I am not versed enough with the Courier to entrust it with such a task. No, let us do it now.

As the Barracks crumble to dust before me, I hear that Techies is attacking my top tower. So he has been pushing! I have no teleport scroll at hand and moving in would take too long. A race begins, but one that I am confident I will win. Techies' damage is dwarfed by mine, his farm lackluster, his creep wave accompaigning him too small. The last towers fall before me, the Ancient comes in sight... when Lina respawns. But where's Pudge? I peek at the top bar and involuntarily laugh as I see his portrait blacked out. The coward has rage quitted. Lina desperately tries to buy some time for Techies but she cannot damage me enough. The Dire's Ancient falls, and my minions scream in victory as the pieces crumble into a lava pit. Sighing with relief, I open the chat. I could type gg, but... no, that would not do this justice. "That was the craziest game I ever played. GG you guys!"

As my cursor wanders towards the button to take me away, a single message pops up in response. It's in russian.

Oh well.
Okay, so I was playing Mario Party 7 with my dad. It was the board with the bloopers, although I can't really remember the name. Anyway, Mario places a Tweester on a space, and Luigi rolls a very high number-- enough for him to reach the Star. But the Tweester was on his way, so he ends up several spaces short. That Star gets picked up by someone else, and the new Star is RIGHT behind Luigi, thus he was screwed out of two Stars due to a single Tweester.

Later on in the match, Luigi places down a Tweester of his own. Mario gets a good number, grabs the Star, and gets teleported somewhere else because of the Tweester.

Guess where he landed?

Right next to the Star and collects it. #marioisanairbenderconfirmed

Here's two great stories.

So, during Dungeons and Dragons 5e with El(the GM), Gin and DL, my character entered a cave. There were three wolves in the cave, starting an encounter. They all got top Initiative rolls. One goes to attack me...And misses by an INCH, saving me a brutal flaying. The other two go to attack me...And reveal they are in chains. Gin saves my butt by giving up a few days of rations, and I don't take a single point of damage throughout the encounter.

Our next obstacle? A stream with a water overflow trap. Gin and the wizard of the team, Hugo(played by DL), go over there. They make a DEX save and, in failing that, a STR save to not get washed away. Hugo manages their DEX roll and gets back over to the safe footing. Gin, however, gets washed away after failing both saves, taking 4 damage. He climbs up, and after some time, tries again. He takes 2 more damage in failing the DEX save, but manages the STR save.

Right so, here be a weird one.
Dawn of War Soulstorm stories ho!...Can I be a cringey sonofagun and call this City of Death? 'Cause it fits. Then again WH40K is everything death related so Confusedtare:
Dawn of War Soulstorm is an RTS set in the WH40K universe. Base building is there, heavy vehicles, infantry and a little side of WH40K-themed maps. It also has strategic points, which help you gain requisition (think money/resources) and produce more units. It has varying factions that are in the WH40K universe, for this story, all you need to know is that i played the Imperial Guard (lore wise, they just spam infantry waves WW1 style and use heavy vehicles) and the Space Marines (elite demi-god-like dudes who wear giant shoulder-pad power armor.) and the chaos space marines, the evil twin of space marines.

I played vanilla Dawn of War Soulstorm a TON years back- especially as the Imperial Guard. I'd spam infantry squads and win through infantry just for fun against AI, 4 v 4 with both friendly and hostile AI being set on expert/hard. With my stubbornness to keep using infantry squads, I ended up in a very true-to-the-lore situation I've never forgotten.

I'm not familiar with the map, but it was a 4 v 4 map taking place in a ruined city, with the critical point in the center inside a ruined cathedral. So, I start out typical (spam guardsmen and max their squad out) and them bum rush for all the "safe" points where the expert friendly AI go. I get shot at once or twice by the Chaos forces creeping near my base, but with a steady stream of Requisition I'm able to spam some guardsmen and counter the early offensive. Shit goes pretty standard as the AI escalate in tech, big guns come out (Dreadnaughts, IG tanks, Chaos Defilers and fully armed squads of tactical marines/Chaos space marines) and I make for an offensive on the enemy base.

But somehow, even with late AI intervention, it absolutely gets crushed- defilers tore apart guardsman morale and killed my own commissar, and the AI just bum rushed and died in droves due to turrets. I go into panic mode and do the one thing I know how to:

DEFEND THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF MY BASE

However, I decide something different this time instead of turtling/setting up around my base. I rush to set up heavy turrets/guardsmen machine gun squads to the cathedral. I just up on the staircase, getting ready for the sudden wave of troops trying to take the middle. That way I'd be able to eliminate the enemy squads and then make another offensive once ready. The enemy then attacks- we exchange fire, a squad loses morale only to be shot my a local commissar, I send reinforcements after the heavy machine gun gets decimated, and the casualties are slowly restored. But then another wave comes, so I repeat the process- defend the staircase, fire on the enemy, set up a HMG position...

And then another wave comes.
And then another.
And then the whole warp decided "FUCK YOU I HAD ENOUGH" and they kept sending more. Defilers, chaos marines, cultists, daemons. You name it, it was there. The space marine and IG allies I had also fought over the map against light skirmishes, but eventually they'd send heavies to counter any heavy units that were wrecking havoc. And every time I lost someone, I'd just send another squad.

Basically? It never ended. Me/the 3 AI couldn't push up due to the need to replace all our casualties, and the same applied to the hostile AI. It went on for a hour straight before I quit, and I couldn't help but feel like it was a metaphor for WH40K in general. It looked great tho', and if there is anything I believe deserves a short novel, its that battle right there.
League of Legends

Terror of the void

After being forced into playing Top lane by my other unruley team mates when I originally wanted to play ADC, I begrudgingly picked Cho' Gath. A champion that before this match I had played once or twice in bots.

I send my champ up to his respective leave and began farming minions, and poking the opposing champ occasionally (I have no idea who anyone else played, this game happened 2 years ago). So far I was doing great, landing face was going pretty well and I had even forced my opponent to back a few times.

Then not started to feed..... Badly. And guess who was doing it? Our carry who had spent the entirety of champion select telling me how he called ADC first and how much better he was and that was his main, blah blah blah. Then this kid said something that pissed me off to know ends.

"Lol maybe I should have went Top"

Needless to say I had a few choice words with him. Thanks to his feeding though their respective bot lane was able to eventually push and destroy all the towers in that lane... Then Mid lane.... And finally mine.

A this point I had been doing great I had even gotten a few kills  and was pretty fed. Thanks to my ult I grew in size and in health.

I was forced to back and attempt to save our ADC(,his build was absoulte trash BTW and made no sense for a carry). Unfortunately I didn't make it there in time and he died but I did pick up a double and forced another to back, giving us a much needed break.

This last death brought our ADC over the edge and he raged quit. Worse thing is? He didn't leave the game! He stayed and preceded to talk trash and not pick the entire team's movements. And at one point calling out our positions to the oppiosite team.

A this point the only two towers left were the ones defending our Nexus, so as a fully scaled Cho' Gath I stood in the middle and killed farms and pushed back the other champs. My comrades fell besides me left and right but u stood tall. Scooping up and eating minions and champs alike to regain health.

Finaly all of my allies joined in( even our under leveled ADC) and we were able to pull off an ACE(killing their entire team) with thus great advantage my team pushed one lane all the way to their inhibitor. At thisbpont the other team had respawned and caused my allies to retreat.

Still standing in the middle of our Nexus towers I ordered them to split push. Our tankiest followed by our support went top and our junglerband ADC went not and pushed that lane all the way to the inhibitor. We now had 2 lanes cleared and were spawning super minions on top and bottom. I decided to sacrifice myself and run down one lane towards the end. As suspected their ENTIRE team came after me. I fought vailently but the numbers were too much for my large form, I did take one with me though. The rest of my team had made their way up in the opposite lane his in the jungle until I died. The opponets thought my team had all ragedquit so they they continued to push.

My team jumped into action and destroyed their nexus turrents and began assaulting the nexus. By the time the opposing team knew what was happening it was too late.

We had won!
Well, a while ago, I was playing the holy masterpiece us mortals call Skyrim.
I was playing as a khajiit, and decided to go as a mage in all heavy armour. I decided necromancy might be nice, so I went and got the ritual stone. Now you must understand, I had a mod on, letting necromancers resurrect dragons. So I am wandering, about level 45 with a nice zombie army following me. All of the sudden, 2 dragons swoop down. So I run behind my army, and start shooting fireballs, typical stuff. A little bit of my army died but then I remembered, I could resurrect dragons. I bring them all back to life, and head into whiterun. I accidentally steal a plate, and a guard runs up. Then all of the sudden, my dragons swoop down, and fight everyone. The guards go crazy and attack me and my army. I run into dragonsreach, to try and escape them. Then all of the sudden, the freaking Jarl attacks me. He is fucking essential, and no matter how much they try my dragons and army fail to his immortality. He runs over, and stabs me.
FUCKING ESSENTIAL NPCS!
