Character name: Madotsuki

Character source: Yume Nikki

Character history: You'd be hard-pressed to gather any information about her past before she gets stuck in the apartment, mostly because she doesn't remember it. The only things she knows is that she is more than human and has very disturbing dreams. Longing to permanently live in her dreams, she deposited her Effects at the Nexus (not the Omniverse's Nexus) and jumped off the balcony. She originates from the video game Yume Nikki, disregarding the manga. She's taken while she's falling off the balcony at the end of the game.

Starting Moves: Effect Knife - 300 (Requires Physical Proficiency)
This is your average kitchen knife. Madotsuki can hold it in one hand without much difficulty. Very weak, but agile, and the hits rack up over time.

Shadow Punch - 300 (Requires Physical Proficiency)
Madotsuki pulls out her diary and opens it away from her, channeling dream energy into the form of a giant fist about one foot in diameter that shoots out from the pages and punches two feet away from her at the speed of a fully-drawn arrow. After extending to its max length, it immediately retracts. It's a lot more powerful than her normal kitchen knife, but it's taxing to repeatedly summon the fist.

Night Slash - 300 (Requires Ranged Proficiency)
Madotsuki winds up for a moment and swings her knife in a wide arc in front of her, spawning a crescent of dream energy at chest-height that's 3 feet wide and six inches tall. It moves in the direction that Madotsuki swung the knife at about the running speed of a healthy human for 15 feet or until it hits a target before fading into nothing. It deals very minor damage, but it can be used while moving and is somewhat spammable, although trying to spam it while running is very tiring. She prefers using it as a spacing tool, keeping her opponent at a distance while she plans her next move.

Ghoul Rush - 300 (Requires Ranged Proficiency)
Madotsuki pushes her palm outwards and focuses for two seconds, shooting out a writhing column of dream energy about a foot in length and 8 inches in width. It launches towards the direction she aimed at and moves about 10 feet at the speed of an arrow before breaking apart into nothing. It deals a very solid hit to whatever it hits, but is the most tiring move in her arsenal and she can't move while focusing.

Every checks out except your knife move (Debuff moves here are always tricky to balance), we'll just need to do some quick retooling. As it stands, it could easily be perceived as overpowered for our system. Even if the knife can only be maintained for 'a few minutes', the fact that the effect resets with each hit is extremely strong, since player-vs-player confrontations here may only last 'a few minutes.' (also, as a tangential aside, be aware that this move wouldn't impede people with the Enhanced Senses power, since blindness wouldn't affect them)

We'll either need to lower the duration of the move itself to something small or retool the effect. I have some thoughts I could share with you, but I wanted to give you a chance to mull over it first.

Effect Knife - Channeling for a few minutes is sort of Impracticable, especially when most fights only last a few minutes. 30 seconds at the max (for practical usage of the move), and don't forget that channeling usually requires you to stand stationary.

Shadow Punch - This is mostly fine, but how big is the fist?

Ah, okay. Actually, I'm getting rid of debuff and adding Ranged Proficiency, so I'll just turn it into an average knife for 300 OM and add a ranged move. I'll get debuff later.

The fist is slightly smaller than the diary it shoots out of-- about a foot or so in diameter.
