February Monthly Accolades (Until March 5th)
#1
It's that time of the month again. Yep, it's time for the February edition of the Monthly Accolades, where we celebrate those that have shined the brightest in the passing month.

For those of you who are unaware, the Accolades involve nominating (and later, voting for) those who have outdone themselves in a particular area each month. For variety's sake, the categories for each month may be different.

You have until March 2nd to nominate your choices. After that, we will proceed to the voting phase where members will vote among the two individuals with the most nominations for each category. The only exception is if someone manages to get 5+ more nominations than the runner-up, in which case that person becomes the winner by default.

If you wish to participate, think of who stood out the most in a particular category this month and post your choice, along with a 2-3 sentence long explanation, in this thread. You are not barred from nominating your own characters/threads, nor do you have to fill out all the categories.

The winners will become this month's "Community Stars" and will receive a blue user title in recognition of their achievement.

And now, this month's categories are:

‘Best’ Character – Which character has you engaged the most?

‘Best’ Writer – Which writer wowed you the most?

Most Helpful – A staffer or a member who gave you amazing feedback on a story or was simply there to help you sort out some of your problems.

Rising Star – Which up-and-coming member stands at the crème of the crop? (must have joined within the last month and a half or have less than 8000 OM)

'Best' Story – What story did you find most riveting/entertaining? (like past major storyline events, the Graveyard Saga is disqualified from being nominated; give someone else a chance to shine)

Most Dynamic Duo – It's not uncommon for some of the best storylines to be created by two partners. After all, one is lonely and three is a crowd. Which pair of characters did you think had the most interesting chemistry? (Thanks to Amaterasu for suggesting this category)

'Best' NPC – What non-player character (can be a site, personal, or story NPC) entertained you the most (for whatever reason). Please note who the 'owner' of said NPC is, just in case I am not familiar with them.

Purple Ribbon - Consider this a bonus category for nominating someone who, while they may not be the best and have all the twitter followers, you believe deserves to be recognized for what they bring the the Omniverse. (The winner must be a DIFFERENT person than last month's winner)

‘Best’ CharacterSmith has exceptional control of his character. His posts genuinely feel like the agent from the movies.

‘Best’ WriterDoomguy and his continued adventures in the Vasty Deep. Constantly chugging along in an impressive narrative that's worth a look to anyone that's missed it.

Most HelpfulKakashi Hatake is consistently on top of the little stuff that quickly adds up. He is absolutely the grease that keeps this site moving seamlessly.

Rising Star – Early month additions tend to get overlooked in these polls, sometimes, but A.S.P.E.C.T. has an interesting character with a unique writing style that matches the character. Looking forward to more from you.

'Best' NPCChrista, portrayed by Gildarts returned with a bang this month, and I enjoyed every post involving the front runner of the Secondary Saga.

Purple Ribbon - Magus is chill in the chat, is a great writer, doesn't get worked up about anything, and is just a generally positive contribution to the community. Keep being you, dude.
#3
‘Best’ Character – Gotta give it to mah girl Belle. She doesn't know she's a prime, y'all!

‘Best’ Writer – This month I'm going with Gilgamesh. Props.

Most Helpful – Hard choice here between Kakashi and Kanda, but since Kakashi already got nommed I'll throw Yu Kanda's name in the hat.

Rising Star – I unfortunately have been too consumed with Graveyarding and coming back from hiatus to have a great solid vote on this.

Most Dynamic DuoMinato and Kakashi

'Best' NPC – Commander Klaud Nine, Yu Kanda

Purple Ribbon - Gonna throw up a vote for Magus as well because I love that guy

‘Best’ Character – Mickey Mouse. His use of what should have been a garbage item in the Graveyard, turning it into something engaging and just awesome... it was brilliant. Anyone else would have ignored the Playboy, or used it to its intended purpose. Only Mickey could have seen it as a survival guide.

‘Best’ Writer – As always, Proto Man doesn't disappoint. If I could write with the frequency and skill he is able to do effortlessly, Ganondorf would be a much better threat to the Omniverse.

Most Helpful – To me, this is a toss up between Yu Kanda and Colonel. I'll have to give it to Yu though. The guy just ALWAYS seems to be online and doing shit. The fact he's juggling the Graveyard on top of his normal duties is just spectacular.

Most Dynamic Duo – Minato and Kakashi, dur. Even disregarding the fact their characters are from the same universe, they just seem to have a chemistry I always seem to lack in my group stories.

'Best' NPC – Christa will always be my top pick for this. If only because she's kept on after the Secondary Saga, when all the other entrants more or less vanished.

Purple Ribbon - Dude. Raal/Weiss. We have THE BEST philosophical debates in chat. It's something that always seems to brighten my day, even when work drained the life from me.
#5
‘Best’ CharacterJessica Jones ( A.k.a the Mickmeister) Having a noir character like this walking around has been an absolute pleasure to read. A 'real life' person being dropped in a fantasy world. The attitude she is giving everyone is just amazing. Not any character can make me crave for more posts, but Jessica does. We want more!

‘Best’ Writer Mickey Mickey and Mickey again. Not only has he managed to create an entire story about a freaking playboy, he also started his new Character Jessica Jones, have you read his stuff? I mean everything is in first person and the only thing missing from those posts is the jazz music in the background. THIS is amazing writing folks, please read this.

Most Helpful – How about a hand for the man behind the scenes, Proto-man, I can't go into much details but if you guys knew how much time and effort he is pouring into this site behind the scenes you would vote for him a thousand times over. Your efforts haven't gone unnoticed, throwing you in there.

Rising Star – Will put this in later

'Best' Story – will fill this out later

Most Dynamic DuoKakashi and Minato or gtfo, the story these two are creating in the saga is an absolute pleasure. You feel connected to both the characters and the bond they share actually show. Something that isn't easy to do when two different writers are creating the story, they seem to pull it off. Good job you two!

'Best' NPC – ABNER IS BACK! have I said Abner is back? Man I love Abner. He is my personal favorite NPC out there. Once again folks, Abner is back. Granted... only one post has been made since his return, but i love it. Owner of this fabulous piece of NPC is none other than Mr. Zack Fair.

Purple Ribbon - Seeing as i couldn't pick 2 best characters i am putting the close runner up for the purple ribbon. Mr Smith! Man, has he made a grand entrance to the Omniverse, it's GannyD's return to the Omniverse. I love his commitment to his character and how much time he is spending in the community again. I love his work and i love his characters. Welcome back mate, hope you get a nice pink name.

‘Best’ Character – Mickey Mouse. I felt pretty good when I settled on what I call a 'saga storyline' for Proto Man. And then this f**ker decides to turn a joke weapon into a best plot device I've seen in a long time, and does so without it seeming cheesy or force or too much. It takes a special character to have that all mesh well in-character.
(Runner ups that bear kudos -- Desco, Belle, Guu, Tartaros)

‘Best’ Writer – Belle - Too many years ago, I was a big fan of this writer's work. There was just something about it that was extremely riveting, especially compare to the common fare around those parts. Even though its X years later, there's still a certain degree of magic to it. The character may be different, but it was still some of the best writing I saw in the saga event.
(Runner ups for me that bear a kudos -- Crowley, Link, Magus, Mickey)

Most Helpful – Yu Kanda - This is going to sound lame and maybe mildly homoerotic, but all the things Yu said about me also apply to him. He's very helpful and provides a very professional opinion on matters I'm working on or dealing with. Greatly appreciated.

Rising Star – Let me think on this.

'Best' Story – Waiting For Pirate Man. There is something unique about Ambrosia, and this Nexus cluster fuck encapsulates that ever-so perfectly. A blend of violence, cuteness, and furrowed brows makes this for an amusing tail.

Most Dynamic Duo – Minato and Kakashi - I feel like this category was designed for these bruhs. It may also relate to the fact that they had a very nice twosome in an event that was mostly threes and solo acts.

'Best' NPC – Hrngnh. My scope beyond the saga is limited, so I'm not certain I can nominate an NPC without bias.

Purple Ribbon - Jade Harley/Crowley - Jade's one of those 'superstar' members. I always see them around. They're always writing (usually as several characters all over the place), and they're always pleasant to people in chat.

I think for most helpful it should be kakashi- he's helped me out a lot and is quick eith his reponse time
You can't stop crime. That's what you never understood. I'm controlling it. You wanna rule them by fear, but what do you do with the ones who aren't afraid? I'm doing what you won't, I'm taking them out.

‘Best’ Character – Smith - Hands down. I am enjoying the way that he is being portrayed. Lovin' the character.

‘Best’ Writer – MICKEY - Have you seen the 'Play, Boy" references in his Heroes Graveyard posts? Made me laugh for longer than it should have.

Most Helpful – Gilgamesh - On top of being super active shortly after his reinstatement, he's also been co-running the current site event.

Rising Star – Eh... uhhh... Oh! That A.S.P.E.C.T fellow seems to be really making a move.

'Best' Story – N/A as I am lazy and haven't read a lot of story lines for a while now.

Most Dynamic Duo – Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee - they have been a pretty good Dynamic Duo since they grouped together. Nuff said.

'Best' NPC – N/A Lazy again :frogbon:

Purple Ribbon - Amaterasu - She's around a lot, and I think she deserves a nice little purple ribbon to pin on her clothes... or somethin'.

‘Best’ Character – This one's a toughy, but I think I'll go with Smith for reason's everyone's already stated: He nails him perfectly.

‘Best’ Writer – Belle. She/He's not very active, but Belle's writing is some of the most polished on the site. I reccommend taking a look at Belle's writing whatever chance you get. It is amazingly good.

Most Helpful – Kakashi Hatate. He C&C'd my Gunsmith's Gamble storyline and is one of the most active staff members on the site.

Rising Star – Amber Veritz. I've genuinely enjoyed her writing on the site, and I'm interested to see where she's going.

'Best' Story – This is one thread I half want to nominate myself because I'm that confident in my Gunsmith's Gamble thread while I want to nominate someone else because I feel like that's me having no humility and is self-promotion at its worst. I'm tied here.

Most Dynamic Duo – Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee. Everything about them screams perfection. Especially the romance. It was executed to perfection.

'Best' NPC – Same here. Tied.

Purple Ribbon - Kakashi Hatate. Aside from being generally friendly, he's probably one of the most active staff members on the site and is helpful the entire time. He deserves recognition for that.

‘Best’ Writer – I'd say Mickey here. The posts in the Graveyardverse (or at least, those I wasn't too lazy to skip out on) were always a great read and a lot of enjoyment.

Most Helpful – Gilgamesh. It's kind of hard to tell since he was using the Spirit a lot of the time, but I found him to provide enormous help for all the Graveyardverse-related questions with and without the Spirit. Honorable mentions to Yu for the same thing, but I personally saw Mr. Blondie more frequently.

Best Character: Tartaros. Somehow, Tartaros always manages to be that one solid, sane character who puts everything in a realistic sense. If that makes sense!

Best Writer: Magus! Seriously, his stuff in the Colosseum and Graveyardverse was all so amazingly well-written. Honestly every single thing Magus writes is probably a gift from the Writing Gods. And Magus.

Most Helpful: Gilgamesh! Honestly so much work was put into the Graveyardverse and I was delighted by his ability to just keep up with everything and do regular staff work at the same time. Major props.

Rising Star: Malthael. Interesting character, great writing style, I enjoy everything this writer brings to the table.

Best Story: Bros Before Flows. Two excellent writers, a whole exciting, adventurous story to follow, plus generous helpings of humor and superb markers of characterization... Amazing! Even if the title is a little... er.. ??

Most Dynamic Duo: Demetri and IRIS. If you haven't read about the chicken suit situation, you should feel ashamed and then go read it.

Best NPC: Can I say Mickey's Aladdin? Yes. Really, all of Mickey's NPCs are excellent.

Purple Ribbon: Agent Smith. This was just a great character to bring into the Omniverse, tbh. I'm so excited about this character and where he's headed!

Best Character: Mr. Smith. From the posts I've read, and just chatting with him while he was vaguely IC, I think Ganny D is pulling him off really well.

Most Helpful: While I so desperately want to give it to Demetri, I think I'm gonna have to give it to Colonel for doing a full page of Move Approval all at once.

Purple Ribbon: Demetri, just for being so damn chill. (Runner up Gamzee)

DDuo: goes to Minato and Kakashi. They make a great team and their writing together in the GV was equally complimentary. Their dynamic kept a steady, fun, and invigorating flow that kept their story together. I'd like to see more of this team down the line.

Excellent work Kakashi and Minato!

I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who posted their nominations. I must admit, I'm quite happy with the turnout. =) But don't rest just yet, because we still have the voting phase! We have a good mix of clear winners and interesting run-offs this time around.

You may vote even if you hadn't made any nominations. If you have and a nominee you put forth is in the run-offs, you don't have to cast your vote for that specific category (unless you wish to cast your vote for the opponent instead); your nomination will automatically count as a vote for the nominee.

‘Best’ Character: Smith vs Mickey Mouse
‘Best’ Writer: Mickey Mouse vs Belle
Most Helpful: Kakashi Hatake vs Yu Kanda vs Gilgamesh (an impressive three-way tie!)
'Best' Story: 'Waiting for Pirate Man' vs 'Gunsmith's Gamble' vs 'Bros Before Flows'
Most Dynamic Duo: Minato Namikaze & Kakashi Hatake vs Ruby Rose & Weiss Schnee (this was almost a clear win, but there were just barely not enough nominations to avoid a run-off)
Purple Ribbon: Magus vs Smith

Rising Star: A.S.P.E.C.T.
'Best' NPC: Christa (Gildarts)
