Amlan, not quite Camlann
#1
Arthuria had rode on her motor driven steed for approximately fifteen minutes, before she reached the gate once more. The guards or such she’d ran into on her first visit were no longer there, but that wouldn’t stop her from actually entering this time, as she steeled herself to the upcoming portal passage. She hadn’t done it in a while, and certainly not in this realm, so she wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But considering her extraordinary riding skills, she wasn’t exactly scared either.

Whoom.

The knight and her mechanical steed passed through the portal without a hitch, as she slowed her speed down to a complete halt for a moment just eyeing her surroundings, curious about where she had arrived after her journey through the portal. As her leg supported both her own weight and the bike, keeping them upright, Arthuria noted that it wasn’t exactly hard to gain her whereabouts. This was mostly because far (very far) off in the distance there seemed to be some kind of a humongous citadel, perhaps a fort. And because she was on a dirt road that was lined by fairly regular green leaved trees, but which at the same time were scarce enough to allow the knight to observe to a fairly large distance. There were also humongous stones around the gate she was at, perhaps functioning as some kind of a landmark, she deduced. But one thing was certain. This was not the Camelot she had known and ruled.

But that was all something she could ponder during travel, the Knight thought as she decided to for now, follow the road further along. Turning the gas, and lifting her leg from the ground and settling it onto the pedestal, the knight sped forth along the road, this time however traveling with slower speeds, both due to the fact that she wished to observe her surroundings during the travel, and because she wasn’t certain if something would try to stop her or such.

After what seemed like half an hour, Arthuria noticed that she was arriving to a medium sized outskirts village. She figured that the town had grown due to the fact that this seemed to be the only road from the portal toward the center. So it would likely gather a lot of merchants and traders, as well as an influx of travelers. So it was in a way a perfect spot for a town to form. Considering that her means of travel made quite unusual sounds on a continuous basis, the knight gathered a fair few looks, before the people deduced that it was just another Prime, on their way to Camelot.

Except that this time, that prime would stop. Arthuria pulled her bike to the side of a building, where there were horses.. Though considering she had a fair bit of experience with the creatures, she had enough foresight to turn off the engine more than enough ahead of time, and just allow the machine to slide the rest of the way, before she kicked the leg to support it, and rose off of the bike, slipping the keys into her pocket as she did so. Eyeing her surrounds for a moment, the girl picking out one of the people just walking along, as she approached them, opening her mouth in a respectful greeting.

”Excuse me, could you possibly help me out?” the knight called causing the male to stop, turning around to face his caller. ”Hm? Yes, I guess so..? What can I help you with?” was the response the knight received. Judging from the girl’s outfit, the male deduced her to be either a new prime, or just someone who hadn’t visited here before. But she certainly stood out of the people as a prime.

The knight responded with a calmly presented series of questions. “I was wondering if you could possibly tell me, what is the name of this town, and if there is a tavern here? And if at all possible, could you inform me what kind of currency do you use here in this realm?” All of them were fairly basic questions, very basic information. Yet all of them were necessary for Arthuria to understand this world’s workings.

From the questions, the man deduced with ease, that this was indeed a new prime. No experienced Prime would ask such things. They just created everything they desired, and went on their way. Money? It had no meaning to them, neither did material possessions. And honestly, when they could harness the power of creating whatever they wanted, basically out of thin air..? How could he blame them from using such power. But despite all of his annoyance, he decided he’d respond anyway, simply due to the Prime’s respectful nature. ”The name of this town is Amlan. As for the tavern, you can find it by following along this road. ‘s labeled by what it is. A tavern. Currency? Gold, silver and bronze coins.” his response was delivered with a nearly monotonous tone, as if he would’ve given this litany countless times before, yet he kept his thoughts to himself.

”Thank you for your time, Sir.” the Knight thanked, bowing ever so slightly in respect, the man simply nodding slightly before continuing on his own to where ever he had been headed to begin with. Saber on the other hand decided to head for the tavern, now that she knew where it was located. Maybe there, she could find what she needed.

It only took Arthuria a few minutes of medium paced walking to reach the tavern that she’d been told about. The town itself was currently buzzing with life, people heading to various directions on the streets, and stopping at merchant stalls and such distractions. Surprisingly enough - for the knight at least - her journey wasn’t disturbed with heckling or anything else either.

The tavern itself was one of the larger buildings she’d seen in the town during her short stay, and had some light shining through the windows. Through them Arthuria could see figures of people, as she took the few short steps up the stairs of the porch, and walked to the door. Turning the handle, she pulled the door open, stepping inside. So this was the tavern of Amlan. Its name resembling closely that of Camlann. There was a decent amount of life inside, and it was surprisingly clean too, compared to the taverns she’d witnessed in the past.

There were two things there, that she’d hoped she’d find on her visit. And they were seemingly both there. Firstly, the fact that it didn’t seem to be only a tavern judging from the amount of life buzzing there at this time of a day. It was likely also an Inn. She’d be able to stay here for now. Provided that she’d be able to find the money to do so. And that was where the second thing she’d hoped to find, came into the picture. A notifications board. Hopefully, she’d be able to work and gain enough money to be able to afford a room. Of course she could’ve just created the coins out of Omnilium, but that was not only dishonourable, but also simply cheating. She would work for her funds just like anyone else, and earn both her keep, and her living that way. Little did she know, that she was likely the only Prime who thought so.

After being immersed in her own thoughts for a slight while, the girl walked forth towards the counter, as well as the noticeboard. It was located next it, likely intended for easy access in the case that someone wished to take one of the many tasks listed upon it. Arthuria’s initial course of action was to review the different requests and listings on the board, and consider her options after knowing perhaps a bit more. Of course she also intended to discuss with the Tavern-Inn keeper, about possible options, and if he’d have any way for her to pay the room, in case she wouldn’t land anything else to sustain herself with.

As the knight finished her running trail of thought, she made her way forth towards the board. As she did so, quite a few heads turned to take in the sight. After all, despite the fact that Arthuria herself didn’t keep herself as either womanly nor beautiful, the reality of it was quite different. As she was walking, the woman expected that her usual insight, foresight even was still intact. A mistake, considering she had just shifted from one universe to another, where things had already gone into weird directions.. But nonetheless, the moment she realised such wasn’t the case, was when she felt something land on her behind.

THWAP. "Howw...about you take a sheat in my lap, missshy?" a deep, slurring tone suggested.

Instantly the girl acted, spinning around in an instant, her right hand striking the hand away from her, as she stared at the culprit with a murderous gaze. “Have you no honor?” the knight inquired with a stern tone, as the clearly drunk man shifted in his seat, slurring to the men gathered around the table as much as he did to her.
“Lllookk boyss… The bitchh.. hic.. Is schtuck upp..”

Outrageous. His behaviour was simply outrageous. Yet she knew that if she’d start trouble now, her chances of finding work would slim considerably. So she simply had to keep it cool, there wasn’t any other option available. “You should not drink more today, Sir.” she simply stated in a calm and emotionless tone, before she turned around and continued along. Yet even as she was walking away, she could hear the men ridiculing her. And she realized that her clothing didn’t exactly fit here either. She’d have to do something about that, soon enough.

Moments later, she reached her destination; the noticeboard. It was time to investigate...

The noticeboard was filled with papers of all kinds and sizes, scribbled full of different kinds of requests, notices and announcements. As the knight was eyeing through the nailed announcements, one in specific caught her scrutinizing attention;

Dante's Abyss
Explorers of a new landmass gone missing!
Seeking volunteers for an expedition for a search and rescue mission!

More information & signing up available in the following locations:
The Town With No Name (Endless Dunes)
Darkshire
Tangled Green

After she'd read through the slip, the knight pondered for a few moments in her mind; Should she join this rescue effort? Certainly, she'd have to travel back to the white lands, and through them to one of the aforementioned places to enlist herself.. Yet this was a matter of lives. People with homes, viwes, children. She'd failed to protect her own people once, yet this to her, seemed almost like a chance to redeem herself. Find those whom were missing, and bring them back safely. Protect those whom she could. Especially, when there were no other noteworthy notices on the board. And so, she turned to the inn keeper after snatching the slip of paper from the board, showing it to the man.

"Greetings, Sir. Could thee inform me how to reach one of these locations?" she inquired, pointing to the list of places the slip had scribbled on it. Waiting patiently as the innkeep read through the notice, he nodded once, twice.. And finally spoke out.

"Yes, yes. Certainly, Missy. In the Nexus, there is a gate to the Endless Dunes. Made of stone, it's fairly old, eroded. There, a few miles from the gate you should find a town. That'd be the Town with no name."  the old man explained as his hands motioned  in a descriptive manner, before nodding and pushing the paper slip back to the other side of his counter.
Arturia's slight bow was gracious and appreciative as she spoke. "Thank you kindly, Sir. May your tavern prosper and your customers be plentiful." she offered, before she took the slip, and headed out of the tavern onto a journey to a new land.
