I am putting this here instead of the OV discussion or the hiatus thread because it is going to involve a lot of rambling on my part and I don't want to fill them up with my whinning. So, without further ado....
I'm not going to be back for a long while yet.
Basically there is a lot going on in my personal and professional life. My Dad, and now one of my uncles on his side, are both fighting cancer and it looks like it is nearing the end of the fight on both accounts so I have been taking time to try and deal/help with that. Being on the other side of the country is not helping so it is adding to the stress levels.
Add on to that my grandfather, also on my dad's side, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer so there is that too. There is a bunch of stuff happening on my mom's side but that is a bit more personal and I do not feel like I should be talking about it here. Let's just say that I am being considered a neutral party that each side can come and talk to since I live on the other side of the country and all. Annoying as fuck sometimes but they are all family so I am doing my best to help, even though I want to just say fuck it and stop answering my phone.
As far as the professional life is going, well, it is the military. I have been sent back and forth to different places but the big thing is there is talk of a deployment in the next couple years. Not just being sent to the middle of nowhere to sit in a desk, no PR sails, it is going to be an honest to god deployment. Where/When/why are all up in the air right now but my career manager said not to make too many long term plans, so there is that as well.
Mix that all in with some other personal issues I am dealing with and things are just kind of.... not good. I went on hiatus to try and simmer things down to the point where I could get back on the horse and write again but it seems to not be doing so well.
As far as I can see it there are a few likely outcomes depending on how things go in the near future:
1) I come back and write, both Characters and the NPC, and this entire rant and warning was all for naught! This is the one I would prefer.
B... no... 2) I come back and go down to bare basics, just Dean but no alt or NPCs, and just concentrate on one character.
3, or C) I come back and start a fresh. Wipe the damn slate clean and just focus on one new character. I would rather not as I love the characters I have chosen but they are all so dark and maybe something more upbeat to off set the shitty stuff happening would be good. Who knows, there is still time.
And, coming in a very low 4 or D or that little "iv" in brackets they use in footnotes) I don't come back. This one is a very low possibility as I seriously like this place and you all kick ass, but it is still a possibility so I am just throwing it out there.
But yeah, as things stand now I am STILL on hiatus but do PLAN on coming back at some point. I will be checking in now and then, and you can always find me on skype or playing D&D or whatever. As far as sitting down and actually getting something written though? Eh, just... not right now I guess.
