Advanced Regen to Healing Question
#1
Quote:Healing – 2500 OM (700 OM if replacing Advanced Regeneration)
While its raw power is not as powerful as in fantasy RPGs, a character with healing is certain to make a lot of friends. Its raw power is based on your DEF stat. In its basic form, healing allows you to lay on hands in order to heal the wounds of yourself or allies that you are touching. This takes uninterrupted time, however, and a great deal of exertion. In this basic form it is comparable to basic Regeneration. By creating moves, you are able to create other healing variants, such as healing from a distance, charging up and then healing instantly, et cetera. As aforementioned, Healing is not as powerful as in fantasy RPGs. Expect it to mitigate, rather than outright negate, ongoing damage in fights due to the fact that you will still be under attack. However it is still extremely useful as it can be used to patch up the worst of injuries, heal your primary attacker, or make use of downtime if you get separated from your opponents during a fight. Heals must still be aimed unless they are point blank or have the Homing proficiency attached.

The bolded text in the quote is what I take issue with. You spend 1200 OM to upgrade from Basic Regeneration to Healing and the latter is only comparable to basic? I'm fine with how Healing works otherwise. I just don't see how/why Healing doesn't grant Advanced Regeneration's benefits. Especially when you can upgrade from it TO Healing. At that point you should make Healing it's own ability and not link it with Regeneration at all.

If that's indeed how it works, then I agree.

Just as a side note. I'm looking for clarification. Not trying to debate anything.

I updated the description a bit; it should be less confusing now. Healing was not originally attached to regeneration, which is why the descriptions were a bit janky. Healing now begins with "A character with healing inherits all the powers of Advanced Regeneration".
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!

Aye, Captain. I was just curious. Thanks for your assistance.
