I do see the part about damages and needing to spend OM to repair them. I thought the most severe thing that could happen was someone could fuck your shit up and cost you 500 OM. How can you just take over a base? They cost 1,000 OM.... My understanding of the rules was that you only pay 500 om if you want to repair you base immediately rather than just have the inhabitants repair it in RP/Timeskip

Adding to this, the pricetag of spending 500 OM to repair any damage to a base is to do it in a matter of minutes or hours, just like summoning it to be gin with, as opposed to the days/weeks/months it would take to do it for 'free', the old-fashioned way. Not necessary to pay for it, but certainly helps.
THAT SAID, there will be no taking over of bases, if that was ever even a worry. Just doesn't fly.
But how will all your base belong to us?
I'm not in the "a Base can be taken over" party. Obviously, the benefits of having a Base wouldn't be able to be taken by an invading party. At the same time, I don't see why someone, having ousted the people at a city or base, couldn't just sit there and say: "Make me leave, bruh." They obviously wouldn't get Defender bonuses for setting up shop in such a manner, and they're leaving themselves open to massive retaliation (as well as limiting their roleplaying options while they're there), but saying "Ok, you guys won, now you gotta vamoose" seems overly restrictive. For example, it'd be on par with someone finally defeating the Emperor (unlikely, but for the purposes of this example it'll do) and then a Staff Member saying "Good job dethroning that jack-ass. Now you gotta leave Coruscant so he can come back and return to power. Trololo!".

Was more referring to the taking control of the base and whatnot as seemed to be the idea people were worried about. Obviously, there's nothing making someone who just kicked the defenders out leave, if they're of a mind to stay.

So... in order to benefit from your base when the invaders won't leave, you have to fight again? Round 2? What if you lose that? What if you just can't ever beat your invaders and they don't want to leave? =S
If they can stay, then honestly, they should be able to take over the base. In that case, the base OM should get refunded to the original owner and the invaders then have to pay 1,000 OM to keep it. Because getting bullied out of your 1,000 OM is just not cool.

Again, the invaders should have to face Storyteller controlling the base's npcs and any remaining primes before they can claim the base in any meaningful way. And yeah the people who owned the base should get a refund.

There's always the option to move the base, which costs the same as repairing it anyway. If someone has dug their heels in and wants to be a dick forever.

And I should probably add/ask, anyone opposed to it being submitted for final grading?

That's what I inferred, and then Tom snatched up Orion's body. So to be fair, it was quick and fairly painless death.

I know for a fact he is working on a post so I'd say your assumption holds merit.

Trophie and the ability to run tests on a 'Prime' Body. But yeah, he stole it for safe keeping.
