Smith was like, super tanky though... I mean, he never once showed any injury even after getting beaten up by Neo time and time again. Then again, he's also very strong AND very fast.
I'd say 2-4-3-1 as he's mostly brute-force.

Being able to dodge bullets and shoot accurately/ fight on par with a master of kung-fu requires high levels of skill. Obviously the Stat arrangement isn't ideal to canon, but Agents tend to die from things that would kill a normal person. At his base, I'd give him no more than a 2 in Def.

Sides, ask anyone what's the first thing they think of when you say Matrix, and they immediately jump to bullet dodging and super speed. Never super strength or toughness.

Maybe you could go with your currently planned stat distribution and purchase two stat increases to bring up your DEF to 2? I think 2/2/4/4 would be a good fit for a Matrix agent. Like you said, they are more known for their super speed and technique rather than durability or attack power.

Defense can be low because an Agent is only living in a host body. When Trinity shot one point blank in the face there was no saving it. It was ejected from the pilot. I'd also suggest Immaterial just because of that fact. Mimic doesn't even need to be specifically for Unleashed Smith. Mimic could represent an Agent of the Systems ability to take over someone and use their body as a vessel.

Besides. Movie one is the only one worth a damn any way.

To share my opinion on it. I would go with a 3-1-4-2 with smith. I mean in the first movie you see him punch through brick walls with ease. He is packing some serious punch.

I'm obviously not as good as an Agent in the movie, but I feel like this arrangement stays truest to the character without buying any stat improvements. At the end game, Smith would look like the following:

Spd: 7
Tec: 7

Tier 1, 2, and 3 for no stat buy:

Atk: 2/3/5
Def: 2/3/5
Spd: 6/7/10
Tec: 5/7/10

Tier 1, 2, and 3 with full stat buy:

Atk: 5/6/8
Def: 3/4/6
Spd: 9/10/13
Tec: 8/10/13

Starting Powers as such:

Burst Movement, Master Acrobat, Super Jumping (Basic)

Powers for future purchase:

Survivial, Super Speed, Foresight, Insight, Flight, Suppression, Shapeshifting, Mimic

Starting Profs: Physical Strength, Ranged Prof.

Starting Items: Mobile Dataverse Device, Vitacompass. They'll be roleplayed as his signature earpiece.

Future Power Ups:

Upgraded Agent Routine, Seraph Routine, Oracle Routine. These are based around the people who took over in the movies, each of which enhanced his abilities.

Future Assists: 5 Smiths at each Tier. A basic upgrade of his original Assist, but each Tier would grant him stronger Smiths to fight with. I had considered increasing the number of Smiths at each Tier, but I felt like, rather than increase the number, I could just double Assist at a lower level for the same effect.

Moves and Super Moves are where I'm having issues. He'll definitely have the following:

Desert Eagle: Smith's go-to gun. It can fire as quickly as Smith can pull the trigger, but the damage is modest, at best.

Viral Takeover: By injecting his code into the form of another being, Smith can copy himself over onto them. Weak Secondaries are more or less defenseless against this intrusion. Primes and powerful Secondaries can resist the takeover, though if they are weakened or beaten to submission, it becomes harder to resist. If used on a Prime beaten in a fight, they will still reincarnate at the Nexus, as per the norm. Their old body will become the new Smith.

Super Move:

Agent Flurry (Offensive): Kicking his speed into overdrive, Smith launches an all-out assault on his hapless target, striking them with a succession of kicks, punches, and other body strikes. Nearly impossible to block or dodge.

And that's all I've been able to figure out thus far. Let me know what ya'll think.

Looks pretty damned decent, to be fair. I'd maybe drop a point in TEC or SPD for a 2 in ATK, but then again, either way would work.

Bullet time for a super defense, mayhaps? But a broader version, so essentially, time slows down for him and he's able to dodge abilities because they move slower than normal?

Super Defense: Bullettime (or maybe "Speed Dodge" or such): AS enters a state of great concentration and accelerates his body to extreme speeds, dodging incoming attacks so fast that he leaves afterimages of himself.
Possibly another:
Spirit Shift: AS spawns a copy of himself (or summons an AS secondary?) somewhere outside the danger zone and immediately transfers his conscience to them, allowing his original body to be destroyed. Injuries and conditions that he had before would move along, obviously.

Moves could be:
Code Hack - Something like a debuff move that inflicts disadvantages on an opponent by "altering their code". Maybe phantom pains or such.

Help Call - AS calls to the help of a fellow agent that appears in a car/truck somewhere, drives it in a straight line (no homing) to crash into the opponent, then disappears again.

Volatile Projectile - AS picks up a rock or any object lying around really and modifies its coding (like he would intrude on people by injecting his code into them) to turn it into an explosive to throw at people.
This could generally be a move though - him changing objects into something else like weapons, rather than summoning them out of nowhere.

What did you think of Immaterial as part of his arsenal, Jeff? It might be needed for any assimilation abilities. It would also let him "become" matrix code at will.

Smiths assimilation abilities shouldn't need Immaterial, since he's not actually passing through anything. He's just injecting his code. As for the Matrix code, that's a good idea for later on in the ex-Agents development.
