Matrix was in awe as he walked, looking at the giant city of Coruscant. Tier 1 was as busy and productive as always, with countless people going from destination to destination. He couldn't believe the crowd that moved through the streets. At the same time, however, he was carefully observing that the streets were above all, over-populated with stormtroopers. He had to wonder if this was what the Super Computer would have looked like, had he not been sucked away from his home world before getting to see it. It certainly matched the stories.
He glanced out of the corner of his eye to see a group of stormtroopers hurriedly pulling someone into a hovering car of some sort. In just a few seconds they were speeding away. He wondered what that person had done, but he never broke stride and continued to walk. He remembered his promise to AndrAIa, that he would stay as far below the radar as possible. He didn't need to get mixed up in anything he didn't understand, so he just tried to stay as low profile as possible.
That was easier said than done, though, because it was difficult to watch another group of stormtroopers rush past, their rifles ready. It was amazing how it was so discreet. If one wasn't alert, they might not notice at all that the Empire seemed to be everywhere. He should have expected as much in their homeland, but for some reason he was suffocated and uncomfortable by it all. Perhaps it was the fact that he was used to small crowds and desolated systems.
Whatever it was, he swallowed all of his compulsion to follow them and determine the cause of the commotion, and instead pressed onward. More stormtroopers passed him as he walked, and he heard something about securing a perimeter for the "Ultra Marines" and dangerous primes, but he ignored that as well.
He did notice that whatever was going on had certainly attracted the attention of most of the people in the immediate area, which made it that much easier to stroll through without drawing attention.
It didn't take too much longer to find the great library of Coruscant. The crowds and lines were small, so he walked right on in. It was likely another side effect of the much more interesting events down the road, but he was more than happy to embrace it. It was difficult to ignore the potential battle, but there was more important things he needed to take care of. He stopped at one of several front desks, where an older man sat.
"Can I help you?" the aged gentleman asked, glancing up to the towering sprite.
"I'm want to read some books," Matrix replied, giving away as little information as possible.
"I..." the old man paused, taking a look at the rugged figure standing on the other side of the desk. This man certainly didn't look like the reading type. "Really?"
"Really," Matrix instantly replied in a serious tone, having no time for this.
"Well, come on in," the elderly man replied, waving a hand dismissively. "All books are available to read inside the the library."
"Great," Matrix replied, and immediately walked past. He had no interest in checking anything out, so he was done with this conversation. The man paused for a minute, but just as quickly dismissed the rudeness of the green skinned man.
Matrix walked into the library, and looked at a map posted on the wall. There were over sixty stories of information in this structure, so daunting was a word that barely described it, especially to a man like Matrix, who's greatest weakness was likely displaying the patience it took to calmly read something.
With a sigh of exasperation, he glanced at a shelf and pulled a book out at random. Once he pulled it out, he paused for a moment before he opened it up and began to read. It was a daunting task, but he couldn't let himself be intimidated by the vastness of it. He had to start somewhere, after all.
