PP: At the same time, I would avoid being unnecessarily hard on yourself.

PP: During times of great fear or stress, chemical reactions occur in the amygdala to trigger fight or flight responses.
PP: In your case, your brain triggered the response to fight.
PP: Though I have no doubt you are a woman of great integrity and discipline, there is little one can do when their brain has essentially drugged itself.

PP: Perhaps instead of trying to resist the rage, try accepting it.
