Awfully dumb question incoming
I was reading through some PvP to get an idea of how it worked, specifically the Colosseum threads (marvelous writing btw, I loved looking through them). But it seems like in a lot of it people seem to end up RPing the guy they're fighting as well as their own characters. I've never been anywhere where that's been a thing and I find it kinda weird...so...uh....how exactly does that work? :dur:

Coming from experience in just Respond and Attack... I find it extremely weird. I tend to be more standoff on other people's characters with more focus on my own. You can however specify how much or how little you want people to RP your character.

It's a product of the system in place and the limited number of posts/words available in a fight. So as to create a more flowing narrative, each writer is allowed to write as their own character as well as their opponent(s), if they are of a mind. If that is something you are uncomfortable with, or just don't feel confident in doing, it's something you can choose to opt out of entirely and no one will think badly of you for it.
Naturally, there is often communication and coordination of the participants involved, through PMs or Skype or the like, so as to make sure things are reasonably accurate and in the clear.
Hope that cleared it up for ya! If you're still unsure about anything, make a separate thread on the topic so as to not clog up the Quick Questions thread.
Your answer pretty much summed up all of my concerns concerning said concerning matter of consternation, ty Adam!

If a character wished to stop another characters weapon by catching it with their hand(Like say catching a swinging axe by the handle), would this rely more on your physical strength or defense capabilities to be used effectively? Or, maybe both?

It would rely heavily on your TEC (as it would come under deflection of attacks even though you're not technically deflecting), but both SPD and ATK would also play a part.
SPD - You gotta be able to move fast enough to catch it.
ATK - If your strength is lower than their strength, then it's going to hit harder and you will probably take some damage.
TEC - You Gotta be skilled enough to actually pull it off.

I know we can rp as secondaries, but can we rp as our NPC Primes (after approval in the NPC thread of course) in a separate storyline while our main character is indisposed?

Yes.

Do all Primes including NPCs start at the fountain? If so, do i have to start writing from there or can i just reference that they were there and already moved to another verse?

You may do so, but it must be approved along with the app you submit for the NPC. I had a similar thing approved with Itachi, having him actually have arrived before Sasuke.
Edit: Yes, all primes start at the fountain.

I ask since I can't do Lucius, and Harry and Ginny are unlikely to know anything of consequence about Death Eaters in the 2nd year. I aim this specifically at things like the HP Book series.

The Omniverse has no connection to any universe outside of it's own. So no, news from earth would not make the Dataverse.
I'm not sure if I have answered your question....

I mean what is the likelihood that primes from various versions of Earth would have summoned media (Like the Harry Potter book series) for others to access to. This would be like Harry Dresden summoning the books of HP that he read (referenced many times in his own books). Konata herself is mentioned to have huge access to Earth Prime media materials ranging from anime, books and similar since she is one of the biggest producers of the Omniverse's secondaries.

There are people that have access to IRL media, yeah. Dean Winchester recognized Sinestro from comics (sorta). So I mean, it happens.

I think I know the answer to this, but just to check:
When a Prime dies, does their old body disappear and then reform at the Nexus, or is the corpse left behind and they get a new one? What about any items that they were carrying? (If their items do go with them, what would be the case for an item perhaps dropped next to them, or a few feet away?)

When a Prime dies, within a few minutes they break down into raw OM and fade away, and then reform at the Fountain of Infinity when they respawn several days later.
As for items, barring any Artefacts, they will fade away within a similar time as your body and respawn on your person along with your body, regardless of how far you dropped them from yourself. Alternatively, if you really want to, you could just summon another copy of the item in question (if it's a weapon or some such) when you respawn, with the old one just being 'gone' or something.

Err stupid question, sorry, are Primes allowed to 'combo' with another Prime?

I mean yeah, kinda. You can definitely RP moves working together, but they won't have any extra power. Now it might be possible to specifically craft a combo move, but I think that would require at least the buff proficiency and there would be some stipulations on it.

I know that I can switch one character for another and start the newer one with some extra OM, but can I, sort of, reset my character?
I'd like to start over with Makoto, I still like the character, and this is me giving it another shot.
Can it be done? Do I start with the default 5000, or do the character switching rules apply?

As far as I know you can reset your character to the default 5000 OM and even keep in-game progress if that is what you want to do. A better option might be hunting down the Chaos Emerald which not only nets you a nifty artifact and some OM for the quest, but also the ability to completely respec your character.
