Yu Kanda, standing before an unfurled Kingdom flag, glared across a rolling battlefield at Ms. Marvel, who herself stood before a small armory and the rebel colors of the Deserters. Up above them, a packed crowd cheered, waiting for the signal that would commence the 'festivities.'
Someone gestured for silence, and just like that, there wasn't a sound in the building as Victor von Magnus walked onto the small platform near the center of the massive structure. With a smile, he picked up the padded hammer and smashed it into the gong, signalling the fights to commence.

The sound of the hammer hitting the gong echoed throughout Kanda's body. In front of him his opponent stood at the ready, a blonde haired female wearing nothing but a mask and a less concealing, black spandex outfit. This was not at all what he expected, where were the demons and monsters his ally told him about ? Instead he was to fight a woman, a skinny ass woman with horrible fashion sense. 'This has to be some sick joke, I cannot fight her seriously. She might listen to reason after she sees there is no other way then to surrender this.’
The exorcist started to walk towards his opponent. With both his body and mind calm, he slowly unsheathed his sword gracefully yet theatrically. Ms.Marvel cracked her neck and followed his example, she started to approach him and cracked her knuckles . The crowd kept silent as the gap between them closed up steadily.
As they got closer, the Amazon like warrior met the swordsman's eyes, which were focused on nothing else but her. She grinned with confidence, "Alright, let's see what you got pretty boy."
Kanda's face betrayed him instantly, it turned annoyed after her words reached him, "Tsh" was the only sound coming from the blue haired warrior right before he swung the backside of his sword towards the vixen. She responded quickly, deflecting the sword with ease using her bare hands. The crowd roared loudly as the two contestants finally clashed for the first time.
The exorcist quickly followed up his initial attack, swinging his sword from several directions, purposefully adjusting his speed to hers. No need to reveal his hand just yet. Every gracious swing got deflected by the woman in the close quarters hand to sword combat. The swordsman was focused, observing the woman's every move, waiting for the right moment.
Then he saw it, the muscles in her upper left arm tensed up, as she prepared for a counter attack. He instinctively leapt back to dodge her attack. Only, it wasn't a punch. Out of nowhere he saw an energy blast of pure yellow color closing in fast, he attempted to dodge the blast, but the unexpected attack hit his left arm nonetheless. Kanda groaned in pain as he took a knee. The swordsman looked back at the shooter. His furious eyes met with her confident gaze hiding behind her opened hand that was aiming at him, 'Perhaps i was wrong, there are monsters here. She's strong.'
Ms.Marvel lowered her hand and slowly started to rise above the arena floor, "Come on now good-looking, at least fight me seriously."
Kanda looked up as he saw her hovering a few meters above the ground, 'She can fly ? How ?! No, focus. Do not let yourself get distracted by this wench. She wants to fight me this badly, then so be it.'
The exorcist got up and rotated the wounded shoulder, calculating the damage her attack did, "You want me to take this serious ? Fine, but you asked or it woman." Kanda held his sword out in front of him horizontally, " Mugen unsheathe." he ran his index and middle finger along the blade, leaving a trail of energy, coating his mighty weapon. Kanda took a fighting stance, his knees slightly bent and his sword at the ready.
Ms Marvel looked pleased at her opponent and continued the combat, shooting three energy blasts down towards the exorcist that came rushing towards her. He moved fast, a lot faster than before. She had trouble aiming as he zigzagged towards her, dodging her energy blast. He grabbed his sword with both hands as he leapt towards the flying woman at full speed. His weapon held at his side, sticking out horizontally and heading directly towards her chest with great speed.
Ms.Marvel was startled , she did not expect him to leap this high. She extended her coated hands to deflect the weapon. Exactly what the tactician was hoping for. He twisted his hip, turning the blade away from her hand, spinning 360 degrees and striking the woman in her neck with the back of his blade. The attack sent her crashing down into the dirt covered arena floor.
Kanda landed not too far away, "I will respect your wish as a warrior and will not hold back."
Ms.Marvel looked back at him from the dirt, she saw a bright blue energy coating his sword and creating a second sword of the same blue energy in his other hand.

I was born of a peaceful people, but I am a woman of war.
***
The mid-day sky, beset with an overbearing, bastard, ball of fire, cast its radiant illumination down upon the tall, sweeping archways of the coliseum. Its scorching, orange dominion enveloped the tournament’s contestants as the roar of the people, bloodthirsty and animalistic, engulfed and subdued the nerves of one, Carol Danvers.
A pungent odor of Iron suffocated the air, invading her delicate nostrils and forcing her visage to scowl. Carol recognized the scent immediately; she knew it well. It was the smell of blood and the place was drenched in it.
Attendants had gotten their money’s worth, as multiple skirmishes commenced all at once, segregated only by the hazardous fissures and fault lines at their feet(likely conjured by the resident mages and wizards of Dalaran.). Once it began, a myriad of combatants charged the battle field with visions of glory, honor, and victory, as sorcerer clashed with dragon, vampire with child, and ninja with machine. Of all the diverse warriors Omni had to offer, a vast many were present in Camelot that day, but many more would die before the sun would birth anew.
Gavel smacked gong, opponents exchanged blows, and before she knew it, Ms. Marvel had swallowed a mouthful of dirt, compliments of Yu Kanda. She had underestimated his ability as a swordsmen and it had cost her; Carol cursed as she stood.
Kanda, now equipped with two energy enhanced blades, landed a few yards away and spoke, "I will respect your wishes as a warrior and will not hold back."
Carol spat, wishing she’d closed her mouth and avoided the earthly taste that now plagued her mouth, and spoke, “I wish I could tell you it mattered. I wish I could tell you it would save your life, but it won’t. You’re going to die here, unless there’s any chance of you surrendering right here and now, well, is there?”
Deep, penetrating, and defiant eyes glared back at her, through her, as though they touched the depths of her soul. She eyed the swordsmen, gave him a once over, and shook her head from side to side, allowing herself a chuckle before speaking again, “No? I figured not… Looks like we have that in common… But don’t say I didn’t warn you!”
The space surrounding the female Avenger began to quake, distort, and pulsate as a golden aura violently lashed out, expanding in all directions, and charged the air with electric like properties that erupted with an explosion of Ms. Marvel’s intent.
A proverbial light show; repetitious, golden hues of photon energy impaled an ever expanding, abundance of smoke, as the thunderous sounds of Ms. Marvel’s wraith longed to swallow her target whole.
Relentless in its pursuit to end his life, the energy crackled, with each discharge, devouring the surrounding area with one explosion after the next. Crowds of spectators were silenced in the wake, as their champions became lost in the aftermath, consumed by debris, smolder, and ash.
A blood curdling scream penetrated the quiet, followed by a heart wrenching 'thump', leaving only one of the champions to rise above the veil of smoke.
Sunflower locks of blonde hair danced upon the feminine shoulders of Ms. Marvel as she ascended the coliseum heights, extended her arm to reveal an open palm, and spoke to her opponent below, “My name is…” she paused a moment. She knew she wouldn’t reveal herself to be Carol Danvers, but as she thought about it, there was really no reason to continue the use of Ms. Marvel. Not here, not when no one knew her, and not when Ms. Marvel had already screwed things up so bad…
“Captain Marvel,” as the words left her mouth, they never felt so right, “I am an Earthling and an Avenger… But today I stand as one with the many imprisoned here against our will… This I will not tolerate! I was born of a peaceful people, but I am a woman of war!”
The debris began to clear, revealing a war torn Yu Kanda, his blades humming with the vigor he intended to dispatch her with.
“I will return home! I am willing to die here today, for this cause. I wish you no ill, but I will kill you. I have made my peace... NOW YOU MAKE YOURS!!!” as the words left her lips, they were accompanied by the screeching sound of death’s call dressed in a photon blast…

Another lotus pettle drops on the hourglass's floor.
*Thump-thump*
Kanda.....
*Thump-thump*
Kandaaa, wake up.
*Thump-thump*
YU, WAKE UP !
Kanda's eyes shot open, hearing the crowd's overwhelming cheering once more, realizing what dangerous position he was in. 'Was that Alma's voice ? Wait, did I just lose consciousness ? Shit, this bitch is a wrecking ball of biblical proportions, both reckless and dangerous.'
It wasn't long before the agonizing pain kicked in. The exorcist's body felt as if it was used as a punching bag, repeatedly smashed against by mountain gorillas using brute force. The focus on his physical pain got interrupted by the loud voice providing a monologue for the audience.
'What a pain in the ass, is all of this just a theatrical game for her to fill up her ego? No more games, she will fall. On my pride as an exorcist, she -will- fall!'
The gradually decreasing debris allowed him to once more lock eyes with Ms.Marvel, his own coat torn and covered in filth. The woman however didn't have a scratch on her perfect body. He underestimated the monstrosity that was Captain Marvel and went too easy on her.
"You may be an Avenger with strong resolve, but this will end with you and your fucked up ideals buried deep underneath this arena-floor. I am an Exorcist, we don't avenge, we're not saviors, we are -destroyers-", Kanda's voice started to roar loudly towards the masked woman, "and my body won't give in until I see both your spirit crushed and your body demolished !"
The swordsman endured the hellish pain within him and dashed through the dust clouds lingering within the amphitheatre. Cutting through the clouds as if splitting an ocean in two, Kanda pressed forward towards his deadly adversary still angelically hovering above the arena floor. However she was no fool, allowing Kanda to come close would end catastrophically for her. The masked heroine acted accordingly and started flying backwards, away from her pursuer, not without providing him with more bolts of energy to dodge.
The exorcist adjusted his speed once more, gracefully dodging her energy attacks. They were just too predictable, child's play for someone as capable and agile as Kanda. Carefully he guided her through the air without her even noticing what was about to occur. Not paying any attention to what was behind her, she flew back into the royal flag still waving proudly. Startled by whatever it was that she flew into she started to quickly turn and twist while getting tangled within the large flag, she grabbed both sides and tore it in half, rather fitting considering the role she was supposed to representwithin this spectacle.
The moment Ms. Marvel saw the cloth getting shred in half, the ferocious gaze of Kanda appeared before her. It was a trap all along. Time seemed to stand still that tense moment, the avenger's pupils widened due to shock and terror. His murderous intent created an aura around the exorcist , it was as if she was looking at the devil himself. Instinctively she protected her face for the attack to come.
Both blades moved at lightning fast speed, slashing her chest and stomach eight times. Collectively, the slashes that cut through her outfit resemble the lotus flower. Carol looked down in disbelieve, not one of the slashes cut her skin or physically hurt her. Kanda slowly started to descend, upon his face a mischievous grin appeared as his hair provided a dark shade over his eyes.
"What did you d-.." The masked woman attempted to speak, but before she could finish her sentence a high impact explosion emerged from the centre of the lotus flower, shooting the rebel representative backwards with great force. A high piercing shriek of pure agony was heard throughout the colosseum. The bag of bones that was the blonde warrior travelled through the air at high speed before it got crushed into the wall as if it was a rag dol.
"Amen."
Slowly, yet on his guard he approached his victim, sitting on the ground, coughing up blood, decorating the battlefield with the color of war. She looked up to her assailant, wiping the remainder of blood from her mouth and stood up.
"Do you-" The avenger started to speak, suffering could be heard in her tone, only to be interrupted again.
"Shut your damn mouth, you’re done." The exorcist said with a cold voice.

With a sequence of swift lacerations left in his wake, the swordsmen descended the distance to the fractured and fragmented colosseum floor below. Ms. Marvel, having endured the vicious bite of his blade already, was no fool and didn’t miss a beat. She immediately began concentrating her marvelous energy into a protective shield casing, covering just where Yu Kanda had drawn his blade’s flower, “What did you d-”
*BOOM*
Before the words left her lips, a high impact explosion erupted upon her abdomen. The force so great, the colosseum walls trembled in response, as an immense, excruciating agony beleaguered the Avenger and her ability to grasp her own consciousness became fickle.
The protective energy she’d crafted may have actually saved her life, but it did nothing in the way of decelerating her decent to the earth, and as she careened across the arena, the Avenger crashed into a stone barricade, taking a piece of it with her; it failed to prevent her from spiraling onward. Finally she then slammed into an unforeseen barrier, preventing her from flying into other skirmishes, but smacking the surface with enough force to stir the dirt from the earth, all the same. A cloud of debris shaped and enveloped the fallen form of Ms. Marvel.
"Amen." Yu Kanda replied with both assurance and relief as he peered through the cloud of dirt, attempting to access his handiwork. His chest was puffed out and his movements were a series of confident strides as he approached the, now grounded, Ms. Marvel.
Feeling her opponent’s watchful eyes, the avenger began to speak, "Do you-" but was cut off by her assailant, “Shut your damn mouth, you’re done."
His words taunted, causing a fury to wash over her, “Obviously you know nothing of Earth! On Earth, we don’t know the meaning of surrender! Earthlings are NEVER DONE!!!” she screamed at the top of her lungs, as the cloud of debris finally began to settle, revealing not a sedentary Ms. Marvel, but instead, an ambush lying in wait for Yu Kanda.
Bloody, battered, and certainly banged up, Ms. Marvel was actually standing. It appeared that she had not yet given up on winning, and under the veil of smoke, had begun concentrating her will from the moment she hit the ground. Summoning vast and copious amounts of Kree charged, marvelous energy, her form had literally become engulfed in a golden flame, all the while, unbeknownst to her opponent until now.
“No!” Kanda took a step back, his confidence appearing to abandon him as he spoke, “This can’t be! I hit you with everything I had! I’m an exorcist! You should be… Exorcised!” he squealed in astonishment.
“Sorry about your luck,” she spoke, in between grasping for air as the tattered, but feminine form of Carol Danvers stood with confidence, while a look of hostility became ever present on her war torn face. Bright gilded flames of pure energy caressed Ms. Marvel’s body as radiant luminescence of photon energy amassed into her yearning palms. The power she emitted recklessly thrashed about, this way and that, as she struggled to tame the disastrous energy she had generated. Releasing what she intended to be the harbinger of Yu Kanda’s doom, the vehement, woman of war brought forth her arms with her palms open and unleashed her vengeful wrath upon the surprised exorcist in the form of a solid, golden beam of destruction, “but I don’t fall that easy!”.
*KABOOM*
A defiant roar boomed across the sky, tearing the very air with its impending catastrophe as the colossal, inescapable beam bore down upon the swordsman, sinisterly searing at his flesh with malicious intent; he did his best to mitigate the damage.
Carol wiped blood from her mouth, “Now, you shut your damn mouth. We aren’t finished here!”

The grand explosion caused by Ms.Marvel's photonic energy beam, was remarkable to say the least. Another dust cloud emerged around her victim, from which his agonizing scream could be heard.
Her conviction and determination reached the crowd's heart, as their immense cheering filled the ancient coliseum. They witnessed a spectacle like no other, the thrill of battle got them to the edge of their seats. Observing the cloud of dust and rubble, the audience held their breath, not knowing if the mighty swordsman had fallen. Gradually vision returned, and a dark silhouette started to become visible within the ashes of destruction. The assembled spectators roared once more when they learned the skirmish was not yet over, the exorcist stood strong, his blood enriched crusade would continue.
The exorcist's silver lined black coat was torn and shredded, barely resembled the elegant design it once had, hardly covering much of his battered upper body. His hair was no longer bound together, running bewildered over his back and concealing most of his face. Behind the wilderness that was once his hair, his ferocious eyes appeared to be running out of spirit, exhausted by battle.
It wasn't his stubbornness that kept him standing, nor was it his pride, it was his sense of duty as a warrior of the almighty one himself. This innocence power was bestowed upon him to vanquish demons, and so he shall.
Both of his humming energy swords were lowered towards the with blood painted grounds on which he stood. Kanda was ready to collapse, he didn't have a fight like this ever since he faced the Noah clan.
What was he doing ? He came here to find the demons Birgitta informed him about, not to get tangled up in a life or death battle with this insane bitch. It was unmistakable, that this woman will not fall by his sword alone, her spirit must be broken instead. But was he still able to ?
Once more Kanda inspected his body for injuries, assessing the damage the barrage had done. It didn't take him long to reach the worrying conclusion that his left leg was shattered. The horrendous pain coming from his limb witheld him from putting any pressure on it. His blood was flowing down his leg, he was compelled to put pressure on the wound.
'Fuck, just what I needed, this has to end now, before I fall. As god as my witness, I will break this wench's spirit, and continue my duty as an Exorcist of the Black order! her blood shall flow like the rivers of ancient Babylon.'
"Why won't you just go down ?!"
The witch's words reached his ears, dragging him out of his thoughts and right back into the hazardous duel, refilling his rage, that currently ran deeper than his blade’s cuts.
Kanda replied not with words, but a physical invitation, holding out both his swords, he resembled an angel of death with blue wings. A taunting, sinister smile appeared on his face.
His opponent wasn't blind either, this had to be a bluff. She saw he was hurt and had to take advantage of the situation. Reacting immediately ,the avenger flew straight at him with her fist forward, like an arrow she soared over the arena floor, leaving a cloud of dust behind her, she was like death flying through the sky.
Kanda was ready for their final showdown. Clenching his firm grip on his weapons he was timing the arrival of the head-on charge. The projectile that was Ms.Marvel let out an intense battle cry, right before she would collide with the wounded exorcist.
Her shout was answered with Kanda pulling one last move to silence her, within a split second the exorcist spins on his somewhat healthy leg. Creating a circle of blue innocence energy around him, he asserted his dominance with a single strike, sending Ms.Marvel crashing into one of the nearby barricades that filled their battlefield.
A pained groan resounded as Carol slowly tried to push her body upwards from the dirt, only to fall back down as she lacked the strength after that devastating blow, seemingly losing consciousness .
Kanda approached slowly, leaning on his no longer activated katana in order to keep standing. He looked down upon her," Your willpower is unyielding, I'm sorry I will have to break it, and reveal whatever it is you felt necessary to hide."
The exhausted warrior reached down, grabbing the side of the mask.

Thundering sounds of the fighters colliding and exchanging blows rang throughout the Coliseum, as the skill in which they demonstrated was inhuman. The noise of the crowd swelled as a sea of shifting colors raised their flags and signs to represent their historical alignment.
Yu Kanda was an undiscernible blur of color, when motivated, and he used this to his advantage, combing the battle field, and only halting for the vicious bite of his blade; a bite Carol Danver’s was becoming all too familiar with.
Kanda's moves were unlike anything Ms. Marvel had seen in the Omniverse. Quick, abrupt, precise, with minimal wasted motion.
Cobalt energy surrounded Yu Kanda as he played his ace in the hole, sending Ms. Marvel, like a star banished from the heavens, into one of the many stone ramparts that aligned the Coliseum.
The Avenger grasped for air as she tried to stifle her body’s alerts, but the agony ensued in spite of her efforts. She shifted her weight, experiencing a jolt in her spine that rang the alarm bells of her subconscious.
She could hear footsteps approaching and again she attempted to move, but to no avail, fire and ice riddled her nervous system.
“NO!” the voice within her screamed; debilitating.
A groan escaped Carol’s lips as she refused to give in to her body’s pleas, trying desperately to right herself; futile.
Something was wrong and drastically so. She had been in a great many battles, but never had she been dispatched so easily, thanks in part, to her Kree charged genetics.
“Omni…” she breathed as the realization hit her. She had obviously been robbed of her former prowess and ability, and that white, smiling bastard was the one to blame!
However, before she was able to turn her anger into motivation, Yu Kanda surprised her with what he did next.
Kanda approached slowly, leaning on his no longer activated katana in order to keep standing. He looked down upon her," Your willpower is unyielding, I'm sorry, but, I will have to break it, and reveal whatever it is you felt necessary to hide."
Devious, albeit cunning, the swordsmen dipped his toe, testing the proverbial waters of his opponent’s psyche as, with a flick of his wrist, he removed the heroine’s guise.
There was a collective gasp that erupted from within the arena, as a lifetime passed within the moment. Ms. Marvel heard only the soft whisper of the wind running its fingers through her sunflower hair as the crowd was, for once, painstakingly quiet.
Carol's sky-blue eyes shined like diamonds against the dirty colosseum floor, her delicate blonde hair whipping across her now, naked, brow.
Carol finally found the strength to stand, “I don’t wear that to hide from something, you arrogant fool!” the beauty snarled with contempt before taking to the air once more, “Humph, I wear it to remind me of something!” and like that she was off like a rocket, shooting towards her opponent with a righteous fury. Kanda raised their sword to defend.
Bright gilded flames of pure energy separated steal from flesh as Ms. Marvel parried a succession of strikes from Yu Kand’s blade and, in turn, delivered her own barrage of strikes.
The struggle for position continued a moment longer before an advantage was claimed, sending Ms. Marvel to the dirt once more, courtesy of the hilt of his blade.
Endless White overrode her vision as her limbs failed her and went limp. Her vision grew dark as her body collapsed from under herself, onto her knees, before finally finding herself face first in the dirt.
“I wear it, because he wore it…. And he was the best man I ever knew! Even if he wasn’t a man!” she spoke as she regained her feet.
“I wear it… Because where I am from… That’s what heroes do… And if I die being a hero, well, hell, that’s good enough for me… Now… GET OUT OF MY WAY!” roared the avenger as she began gathering her marvelous energy for one last hurrah. This would either win her the fight, or kill her, either way, she was proud to be a hero.

Methodical and meticulous, the heroine kept her opponent at bay, firing a succession of gilded, proton blasts. The swordsmen’s vigor waned under siege of Ms. Marvel’s onslaught, as screaming beams of ill intent tore through the air; Yu Kanda narrowly escaping one, only to succumb to another. Void of foolish sentiments, such as sportsmanship, her tactics barely permitted the swordsman a moment’s breathe, let alone the time for a proper counter strike. Her military background guided her actions with a swift, yet firm hand, and the result? Hell descended upon Yu Kanda in the form of a relentless, golden furry.
When the smoke subsided, an eerie silence befell the stadium, as attendants edged forward in their seats, eager to stifle their anticipation, and be the first to witness the aftermath. The feminine silhouette of Carol Danvers pierced the veil of smolder; her words following after, “My fight isn’t with you! This is over, don’t make me kill you.”
Kanda, down on one knee, spat crimson and steadied himself with the aid of his sword, before responding in a hoarse, defeated voice, “I’m… an exorcist… I slay—”
“Demons?” she interrupted, seemingly uninterested, as she had found and began reapplying her mask, “Listen, I don’t like demons any more than you do. In fact, I hate demons, like, ew, creepy! ...And honestly, I don’t much like the idea of killing the guy whose job it is to kill them. Sounds like you are doing these people a great service, and I don’t want to get in the way of that.”
The swordsman struggled in his movements for a moment before tightening the grip he held on his blade.
Sorrow overtook Marvel’s expression as she bit upon her bottom lip, then pleaded with the swordsman once more, “Oh, c’mon! It doesn’t have to be this way! We’re on the same side! Damn it!”
A smile crept up upon his pale visage, as he raised his weapon, extending it in the direction of his opponent. Ms. Marvel allowed herself another grimace, but soon after, prepared herself for what she must do… and then it happened.
Yu Kanda discarded his weapon, allowing it to clang upon the ground next to him. Dark ebony eyes fell upon his triumphant adversary, showing the gravity of his words, “Okay… But… You better not be lying about hating demons…” and with that, Yu Kanda allowed the darkness to overtake his consciousness, and his body to finally give out from under him, falling backwards into a deep slumber.
Something between a giggle and a chuckle escaped Carol’s mouth, while the crowd erupted in applause, and she secured her passage to the second round. The beauty took to air, flashing radiant smiles, blowing kisses, and throwing up peace signs to the adoring crowd below. If things kept going like this, it would only be a matter of time before she returned to her own world.
Or so she thought….
