Base Fights and Your NPC Primes
#1
If someone attacks your base and you want to initiate defense with an NPC Prime that takes up residence there are you allowed to? For example: Trixie is off killing Sasuke in another verse and Senth is on Coruscant in the base when Ambrose comes knocking for some artifact. Can I roleplay as Senth against the attackers in a judged fight with rules? Assuming a player or Prime NPC is attacking.

I'm pretty sure NPCs and other "I'm not here" defenses only slow down the attacker. Recall stations are one of the major factors in that. I can't recall a more official ruling on that, but as far as I feel like the "spirit of the rules" goes, any kind of defenses left at your place will only slow another Prime down as opposed to really deterring them.

Then I guess my question shifts to "Are you really going to deny me a fight if I want to actively defend my base?" I could see where an NPC Prime could be over powered when defending so I mean, a recall station could be required for initiating a fight. That moves to my next point. While OOC someone may know that I bought a recall station for the singular purpose of coming to the defence of my base. What about IC? Would the enemy faction have information on that? Would it deter an attack if my base members were capable of actively returning from wherever they are to defend?

I forgot about this thread: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2628&p=24611#p24609">viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2628&p=24611#p24609</a><!-- l -->

That was simply how your base defense took place IC though. Mechanically it works the same, but it could be a giant vault to a fleet of droids. It's still RP Fodder. My question for this thread is more along of the lines of "If you're being attacked and you can't recall immediately, can an NPC Prime fight in your place until a player comes?"

I think it's more or less just RP fodder for the attacking party. If you DO write as a Prime NPC defending the base, have the knowledge that they WILL lose after a couple of posts and the PC will move on. The Vault buys you a little bit of time, and that's it. There's no fight if you don't show to defend it, and you most likely won't have time to come back if you're not in the area or you don't have a recall station.

If you're in the Same verse, there's nothing stopping you from coming and stopping them, but if you're in another verse, well, you knew the risks of leaving without a recall station.

That's actually perfect. Makes sense in a defense sort of way. Good for me.
