What would you say is the minimum age to be taken seriously (on this website)? I'm asking because I'm a four-year-old cunningly hidden beneath a layer of complex punctuation—\:;()₩§&@‰

We take every member on this site seriously. We don't discriminate. <3!

The words that spew forth from your mouth and your mannerisms affect my opinion of you. Not implying I have one.

As a rule of thumb, I don't take anyone seriously until they show me they are:
1. Worthy of respect. 2. A decent human being. 3. Mature in mindset, disregarding age altogether. That said, it's not actually that difficult to display any of those three things, just follow this three step program; 1. Don't be a diva 2. Don't be an ass 3. Don't write like a chump ![]()

Hmm, pretty much what the others have said, in so many words. Since most people don't (and shouldn't, if they're under 18) reveal their age online, it isn't usually used as a measure of competence or maturity. Besides, I know people my own age who I would put far less trust/faith in than a clever and reasonable nine-year-old. \(=_=)/ Behavior really is the deciding factor.

A "dick" way of answering your question would be; if you think your age is why people are not taking you seriously, you're probably not mature yet.
