The Tangled Green

The yellow sun was decorating the blue sky together with several slow drifting clouds. Kanda was following something that resembled a road through the forest that is the tangled green. At first he did not see it, but this place slowly started to grow on him. Being on the road, seeing the other side of the green, the beautiful peaceful side, he really didn't mind this long walk anymore. It gave him time to give his thoughts, his hundreds and hundreds of thoughts and questions a place in his mind. He gotten more comfortable with the fact that the Omniverse wasn't just some dream. For now he was stuck in this place, best thing to do is continue on existing, get to know this world and find a goal. An exorcist without a goal is like a boat without water, they just stop being useful. Kanda knew he was brought here for a reason and eventually this reason will show itself to him.His thoughts kept him occupied for a while when suddenly behind him he heard shouting.

"Kandaaa ! Wait up !" A high pitched voice pierced the silence and comfort the forest was providing him. Agitated he turned around to see the source of this disturbance. In the distance he saw Birgitta running towards him, just what he needed, his probation officer following him around everywhere.

"Why are you here, isn't tracking me enough, must you torture me with your presence as well ?" The traveler said annoyed when she was close enough to hear him speak.

"Well hello to you to. Did I catch you at a bad time or are you just always Mr. Sunshine ?" The cheerful tone of the girl just got on Kanda's nerves.

"You didn't answer my question Birgitta. Why are you here ?"

The girl placed her bag on the floor and sighed. " It seems Guu thought I'd be best if I accompanied you, it seems she doesn't trust you very much. Odd isn't it ? after all you -only- defended yourself from sleeping orcs. So I am to accompany you on this delivery and see that it's done right. Besides, it's fun ! now you have someone to talk to and keep you company. We can share stories, get to know each other, talk about the fut- " The girl got rudely interrupted by the exorcist.
"Tsk, I don't have time for this." Kanda turned his back towards her and started to follow the dirt road through the forest. Birgitta quickly picked up her bag and followed. "Wait up."

The following hours were filled with Birgitta talking Kanda's ears off, he couldn't take much more. Not even Walker was this annoying. It took every little bit of restraint within Kanda's fibers not to snap at her. Ignoring her every step of the way his once quiet walk now became a path of mental torture. How could she keep on yapping like that ? He would almost prefer his time fighting off hordes of Akuma, if it meant not having to hear her ramble on.

Kanda was seconds away of opening his mouth, being fed up with her when he heard it. From the tree line on their left he heard growling. Kanda stopped and turned his head towards the sound. Birgitta bumped into her travel companion, who didn't move. "Hey, what the !?"

The exorcist was observing the green bushes, the nearby trees that seemed to have scratch marks on them. Further observation revealed there has been a battle here, a few drops of blood were smeared over the grass near the trees, broken twigs indicated a dragging trail, all these details indicated that whatever was hiding within the darkness of the forest was anything but friendly. " Be quiet, something is over there. Let's keep going. But keep on guard, don't want to be blamed for your death as well." With that Kanda started to walk again, picking up his pace. Quickly following, Birgitta pouted, she obviously didn't like Kanda ignoring her and giving her orders.

"I have you know I am fully capable of defending myself. You may have noticed back in town when i send you flying several feet. That should give you a clue sword boy." She kept rambling on in a demeaning tone of voice. The forest started to grow restless, the wind started blowing harder, the rustling of leaves in the wind made it more difficult for Kanda to hear what was going on behind the bushes.

"AAH "

Behind him he heard his annoying travel companion scream on the top of her lungs, quickly he spun around with his hand placed on the hilt of his sword. Surrounding the small, innocent looking girl, several four legged creatures surrounded her. Their sharp claws, vicious fangs and rough hide made them look dangerous and hungry. Before he could actually take action he saw Birgitta hit one of the creatures with her bare hand, the sound of the slap echoed sliced the air right before the creature was blown away back into the forest. It seems she could take care of herself just fine. Kanda then turned around, releasing the grip he had on his hilt and continued his journey.

Several minutes later the high pitch voice returned behind him. " You are an asshole, why the fuck did you leave me there. Why didn't you help"

"You seemed to have things under control." He replied in his cold voice.

"Well fuck you, Kanda." Birgitta was enraged, she wasn't happy at all.

The exorcist didn't seem to mind at all, she was being quiet now. No longer did her voice torture his hearing. The journey was finally enjoyable again.

The duo continued to walk until eventually they reached it, the gate to Camelot.

"So this is it hm? "

Birgitta didn't reply, she was still sulking about what happened earlier.

"Fine, be like that. Best you go back now, you were a wonderful escort"

Again no reply from the young girl. He wouldn't spend any more energy into this one-sided conversation, he had a job to do so he could be free of Guu and this tracker around his ankle. He held on to his sword with one hand, a tight grip on the bag with the other and walked through the gate.[/spoiler]

Camelot

Slowly opening his eyes the bright sun forced his eyelids shut again. Slowly reopening them he started to get a good look of the new verse. The smell of fresh air, the touch of grass between his fingers and the wide green fields made Camelot a wonderful sight to behold. The small town in the distance looked allot better than Ambrosia, allot more familiar to him. The worries he may have had before coming to this verse were taken away instantly by this inviting sight.

" Finally, i was about to kick you awake."An annoyed yet familiar voice spoke to him. Birgitta was sitting a few feet next to him in the grass, staring out in front of her.

"Ah great, you're still here."

"I told you before, Guu wanted me to join you on this delivery, better get used to it."

Kanda sighed and took a moment before talking again.

"So are you a prime as well ?"

"No i am a secondary, perhaps, someday"

"Meaning you won't be able to summon a vehicle then i take it ?"

Birgitta looked at him suspiciously, knowing where this was going. He was going to leave her again.

"No, i can't summon anything"

"Very well, i make you a deal, you drive and I'll get some shut eye. How does that sound?"

"it sounds as if you are mistaking me for a servant."

"Either that or you can walk, your choice."

Kanda's face told her he was being serious. He would leave her behind if she didn't agree with his offer.

" Fine!"

They walked towards the road that was near the portal, the dirt road was good enough for Kanda to summon his vehicle. Kanda stood still and closed his eyes, fully concentrating he used the omnilium to create their means of transportation. Once again this took several minutes, it wasn't as easy as it looked, but there it was. In front of them stood a well crafted wooden carriage, the details carved into the brown wood were stunning. Kanda looked at it with pride yet on his left Birgitta didn't really knew what to say, she was perplexed.

The exorcist yawned as he opened the door and climbed inside the carriage. "I take it you know where we are going ? Wake me up when we get there." The door slammed shut behind him.

It took Birgitta a while before she realized what actually happened. The black horse in front of the carriage turned its head towards her whinnying loudly before shaking its head. It was a magnificent specimen, strong legs, long manes. "You got to be joking, why the fuck would you summon something like this ?!."

Climbing on to the driver's seat she took control of the horse and started to move forward, heading towards the town further on the road.

[Black☆Star]

Black☆Star burst through the portal, arms stretched above his head, bellowing his signature Yahoo! The sound echoes throughout the surrounding area. Though, Black☆Star's expression changes suddenly. Where were his adoring worshipers? His loyal subjects waiting on his arrival? Something was amiss and it did not sit well with the assassin. At least until he spotted the carriage trotting off in the distance.

Hey! Black☆Star called out, Hey! You! Wait up! You're meant to be worshiping, not leaving!

Black☆Star began bounding after the carriage, waving his arms and calling out at the carriage. Finally skidding to a slower pace, Black☆Star gave the horse a tap on it's flank, beaming a grin up at the driver.

[Yu Kanda]

The carriage was slowly advancing down the road. Because of the dirt rocky roads in Camelot the carriage was shaking more than Kanda liked. Birgitta slowed down so Kanda would stop complaining about it. They were on the road for only a few minutes, the exorcist was in the carriage closing his eyes. In the driver seat Birgitta was mumbling to herself, her facial expression was obvious, she was not enjoying her new job.

" Stupid asshole making me drive this ancient box on wheels, with a horse that smells of, well horse" The girl kept muttering to herself, not improving her mood whatsoever. Suddenly her moment of endless complaining got interrupted by a shout coming from behind the carriage, someone was making allot of noise behind them. Birgitta turned over her right shoulder to see what was going on, suddenly the carriage shook heavily, she could feel someone landing on the seat next to her. Not thinking for a second she turned around and with an open hand she slapped the new passenger back into the air with a force you would never expect coming from a petit girl like that. Black star flew off the carriage landing on his ass and a red handprint glowing on his cheek.

"What the hell was that ?!" The young boy yelled.

"Who the fuck just jumps someone like that ?! Who are you ?!" Birgitta replied back in the same yelling tone of voice.

"I am Black Star, how don't you know that by simply looking at me?" The woman looked at him with a bewildered look on her face. She didn't hit him that hard, maybe he just wasn't right in the head.

"Erm, I've never heard of someone called Black Star honestly. Are you new here ?" She asked carefully.

" You've never heard of me ? What rock did you crawl out from , everybody has heard of Black Star and i have arrived in the, erm - Omniverse." The boy sounded puzzled by her response, which was once again a red flag for Birgitta.

"Yes, well no, can't say that I have heard of you. Then again, the Omniverse is a big place after all. What brings you to Camelot? "

"Not too sure really. This gate seemed like fun so I thought why not, then I found your carriage."

"Aah, you're a new Prime then i take it ? Well we are heading to town, we could give you a ride if you want?" Birgitta said with her nice voice, something Kanda hadn't heard for a while.

"We ?" He asked while observing the carriage.

"Could you keep it down ?! I am trying to get some shuteye in here. He can ride with you for all I care, just get moving already." Kanda's voice shouted from within the carriage, not sounding too happy.

"Who's that ? Is he one of my worshippers ?"

"That's Kanda, my travel companion, a real pain in the ass . I am suppose to watch him while he does a job for us, because -apparently someone cannot behave- !" That last past was directed at the carriage as the volume of her shouting went up. " You can sit up here, if you'd like."

" Yahoo !" The young warrior shouted as he once again jumped on the carriage next to Birgitta.

" You will have to excuse him, he gets excited like that. Thank you for bringing us along." Birgitta started to look around her, she could've sworn she heard a female voice just now.

"Did you hear that as well ? " She asked her co-rider.

"Ow that ? that was my friend Tsubaki. She is stuck in this form for some reason" He took out his weapon and shook it a bit, almost as if he tried to get her out.
"Would you stop that ?" The female voice said from within the weapon.

"Ah yes, that makes perfect sense." The sarcastic tone of the female driver matched the bitter look on her face. She lashed the reins of the horse, ordering it to start moving again. The animal started picking up the pace dragging the carriage along the road again.

The duo on the driver seat were staring in front of them, Black stare with a dull look on his face. The scenery wasn't spectacular, allot of green grass, blue sky and a town up ahead in the distance. Bored out of his mind he turned to Birgitta. " Can i drive ? " She returned the question with a troubled look "Do you know how ?"

"Of course i do." Black Star said with full confidence.

"Well alright, just don't go too fast. We don't want to wake his royal assness back there" She handed over the reins to her new companion.

[Black☆Star]

Black☆Star’s expression turned from one of boredom to sheer excitement upon considering the prospect of being allowed to drive. With little hesitation, he snatched the reins from Birgitta and set about spurring the horse on, to little avail as the horse whinnied indignantly and continued on at it’s own pace. The assassin huffed, puffing his cheeks out in a child-like sulk in the process.

So.. what’s this job you’ve got to do? Black☆Star asked, coyly sussing out his new companions, crossing his legs and leaning back into his seat as he does so. Oh, and who’s that inside? Is he your boss? a coy grin spread across Black☆Star’s lips as he spoke, his focus on the surrounding area, rather than the direction the horse was taking them in.

"My boss ? Don't make me laugh. I'm his parole officer, and I'm here to keep an eye on him."

Black star stared at Birgitta confused. "So you're saying he is one of the bad guys ?"

"Well, I don't really think he is a bad guy. But he did do something Guu, the princess of Ambrosia, did not agree with and jeopardized the safety of the city. Therefore he got community service."

Her passenger wasn't really paying attention, it almost seems the story was boring him, as if it was not exciting enough.

"Ah, community service." Black stare spoke with an uninterested voice as he stared over the grass fields. The town was getting closer, within minutes they would reach the first houses. Black Star's eyelids appeared to be heavy and slowly covering his eyes. This trip wasn't as exciting as he might have hoped. Out of nowhere Birgitta started to shout in a less pleasant voice. "Kanda ! Wake up you lazy bum, we're here." Her companion next to her jumped up when her voice pierced his eardrums.

"What the ?!" Black Star shouted after he got pulled out of his nap.

Within the carriage Kanda slowly opens his eyes, he actually didn't sleep but he wanted some peace and quiet. Some time for himself to get his thoughts in the right order. He looked outside the window, this architectural style was well known to him. The houses were made out of wood and stone, very plain looking. Kanda felt more in his own element here, allot better then the damp forest filled with dinosaurs and orcs. The people outsides eyed the vehicle with the loud Black Star sitting on the driver's seat, he sure knew how to draw all the attention. The horse started to slow down until it eventually stopped.

"Kanda, wake up, we're here. Do your job" An annoyed Birgitta spoke. Behind her she heard the door open up. Kanda grabbed the bag from the seat next to him and got out. When walking past the carriage he looked up at the driver's seat, taking a quick look at Black Star. He saw the young boy looking back, observing Kanda as well. The exorcist didn't exchange words with him and walked up to the door, knocked it twice and waited.

Within seconds he heard a squeaking high voice from behind the door shouting; " Who is it ?!"

"Got a package for you, from Guu." Below his field of vision a smaller door within the actual door opened up.

"Alright slide it in" The mysterious voice ordered him. Even though he did not like being talked to this way, he pushed the package through nonetheless.

"Alright now beat it." The small door was slammed shut, leaving Kanda standing in front of the wooden door with a perplexed look on his face. Was this it ? Just this ? The exorcist turned around and walked back to the carriage.

"Well it's done Birgitta, can we get going and perhaps remove this damn thing on my ankle ?"

"I can't do that i'm afraid, not without the approval of Guu. If you go get Black Star over there we can get going." A few meters away from the vehicle Black star was talking to several townspeople. His loud voice could be heard all the way over to the next town, and his excessive hand motion only made it worse. Kanda stepped towards him as he started overhearing the conversation.

"Yes my loyal worshippers, i have finally arrived. No longer do you have to live in fear." The townspeople around him showed different reaction to the self-proclaimed god. Some were enthusiastic and encouraged him to continue, others couldn't get away quick enough.

"Well then, Black star god, I'm sure you will participate in the upcoming tournament at the coliseum ?"

"Of course i am ! Wait, what tournament ?"

"There is a tournament being held at the coliseum nearby, Primes, monsters, demons and knights alike will be facing each other in combat" one of the town folks explained. Kanda was close enough to overhear.

'Did he say demons ? as in Akuma ? are they here as well' Kanda thought to himself. If this were true and Akuma have gathered within the Omniverse, than he had to act quick. If the millennium earl had plans for this world as well he had to stop it before it gets too uncontrollable. As far as he knew he was the only member of the Black order within this world, he had to be careful from hereon on.

Caught in his own thought he couldn't hear Black Star's boasting towards the people that were eating his words up. They loved him.

" You, God-moron. We are heading out." Kanda said to him in a cold tone before turning away and heading back.

Black star was about to shout towards Kanda's back when he heard; " If we want to catch that tournament we better hurry." Immediately the warrior kept his mouth shut and quickly rushed after Kanda, he turned around and waved at his new worshippers.

"I'll be back after I win this tournament thing !"

Kanda walked up to Birgitta. " We are going to the coliseum, there is something i need to find out for myself."

Birgitta got a grin on her face. "You want to go to the coliseum ? Well, it would be fun to see you get your ass handed to you by someone other than me. Alright we could make a quick stop there."

Kanda didn't reply to the insult and got back inside the carriage. Black star followed but was send back up to the driver's seat next to Birgitta who in turn grabbed the reins making the vehicle move once more. "On to the coliseum" She said.

"Yahooo!"Her overenthusiastic partner shouted next to her.

After a longer travel then expected there it was, in the distance they saw the massive building that was the coliseum. Another challenge awaited the primes.
