I dunno. Story really drives me. I can't help but to imagine them, and having a good way to express them just feel amazing and productive.

Good music that matches the mood, But really its the character that inspires me.
Some of them just click with me. Ururu specifically is one of my longest running characters in terms of re-usability.

Writing and storytelling is really sorta my default mode; if I have free time, I'm probably making a setting, world or story. I have to become inspired to not write...mostly to do dishes and stuff.
I will say, however, that reading inspires me to sythesize eclectic ideas from different genres and media into fun concoctions. Dreams also drive a lot of my creativity; that's where I got Nea Nea's three eye thing from.
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued

Depends on what I am writting.
Specifically for Dean? A lot of coffee and classic rock. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake hole.

I write when I feel motivated and inspired... There's usually no magic formula, honestly.
When I was younger, I did a lot of writing with heavy music and headphones. Looking back, I have no idea how I did that and wonder if I haven't developed ADD in adulthood. ![]() ![]() Dante's Abyss 2015 Host

Usually I get ideas after reading/watching other stuff. Also music.
Uh oh. Those boys got me all tingly...

As a fanatic movie/series watcher i have allot of stories in my head i want to get out. That and music....i tend to think up stories when i'm listening to music and i picture the scene in my head.

Similar to Yu here - I tend to write because watching series, reading a book or even coming across something interesting in the real world may give me ideas, or I develop my own. But there's no magic trick that will always work, and I've had my share of days where I just can't be assed to get on any roleplaying site and play. I don't call it writers block (wanting to write but unable to), but simply lacking motivation.

Proto Man Wrote:I write when I feel motivated and inspired... There's usually no magic formula, honestly. I'm with Proto here. When I feel motivated and inspired I can easily chop out thousands of words. What appeals to me is the idea of my character being a living, breathing, person. I enjoy day to day routine and basic life essential things like going to the bathroom or eating. I'm a sucker for romance so most of my characters have a partner. Trixie hasn't evolved enough to further the relationship with her planned partner, but if I ever get back to Coruscant she'll be entering a relationship. It will be interesting to say the least. With Vad and his wife (My original form of Trixie), she was a demon possessing his soul so when a fight presented itself against another player she could easily inhabit his mind and surrender her corporeal form. Having an actual physical companion that can't do that with Trixie, who's statistically stronger than her will be interesting to write, but that's how I've written since 2009. My player character and their NPC partner doing things together.

Music mostly. Sometimes a good 2 - 3 hours of Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley and some Beatles really helps me write

depending on the situation and the emotions i want my characters to portray, I go and read up on the characters I used as insperation. For Miranda that's a ton of various strong willed female characters Mainly (Bleach: Halibel Final Fantasy: LuLu, etc) and some personality quirks from other characters (Kingdom hearts: Saix)
Zangetsu didn't really get much screen time but the whole time he was on the screen he played the part of the villian, helping Ichigo become stronger for his own good. His true goal? "To protect Ichigo" Here i'll try to emphisise this. His goal here is to find and make a compatible wielder strong and protect him (or her) as best as he can. With dante i've toyed with the idea of Incompatibilities. By joining with Dante, Zangetsu has gained a sense of individuality, of independence, In turn Dante has gained a sense of emptiness and despair. With only this to work with Zangetsu, its kinda hard to visualize how he would react to certain things, so i have to improvise.
"I've been here before, used to this kind of war. Crossfire grind through the sand. The orders were easy: 'It's kill or be killed'. Blood on both sides will be spilled."

Lots of stuff. As people have said, music's a big one. Sometimes the theme and feel of a song will inspire an idea for my characters (my next post as Orion I'm planning is inspired by a song). But sometimes seeing other things just unearths ideas in my head. For instance:
![]() This is an old sig made for Orion on Chubbs, and it inspired the entire second half of Orion's past. I just saw how it was built and my head took all the pieces to make something from it. That's probably one of my favourite parts about writing; how inspiration can hit randomly and with only a gentle push. ![]()

A whole bunch of things can inspire me. Both of my characters, Zack and Matrix, were chosen because I felt that there was a lot more story that could be told with them than their original canons did. As for what stirs my brain, music is a typical strong one but also simply seeing a picture of a cool environment just makes me want to write an adventure in the place. For instance, this picture sent Zack to the Ashen Steppes, while this one sent Matrix to the Vasty Deep.
