Baron Victor von Magnus
#1
Location/Role

Baron Victor can be found in Camelot, where he is a senior official in the Kingdom, although he can often be found out and about, ensuring stability and doing his part to keep things safe. He is a very approachable and friendly man, although he will tolerate no villains in the Kingdom. Many a would-be cur have been felled by his blade.

Appearance: A man of about fifty, ‘the Baron’ is a tall man with impossibly broad shoulders. Despite being an aristocrat, his body is heavily muscled, undoubtedly from his trademark weapon. He has a chiseled chin, high cheekbones, and eyes so blue they sparkle like the seven seas. Clean-shaven, his blonde hair hands down over his shoulders. If you’re still struggling to picture him, just think of an aryan viking version of Fabio Lanzoni.

Story:

Baron Victor von Magnus was a man of great renown in his home ‘verse. He was beloved by his serf for his kindness and unwavering sense of justice. In his youth, he traveled the world, honing his skill with a blade and learning the strong sense of morality that would guide him later in life. He fought monsters, he courted fair maidens, and he fought in several tournaments across the various baronies and counties of the Kingdom and its neighbors.

He returned home at the untimely death of his parents, and at the age of 22, he became one of the youngest barons in the kingdom. The young, handsome man took a wife, who bore him four healthy children, and with the passing of the throne to the king’s younger son, the baron found himself the favored advisor to a youthful monarch inspired to rule as an enlightened monarch.

His barony became the rival of his neighbors, who plotted to have him killed. Their plans, carefully plotted for over a year, failed spectacularly when a visit by the king forced them to stall. Members of the conspiracy, too eager and impatient after having waited all this time, went through with the plan anyway. They wound up poisoning the baron’s wife Annabelle, a saintly woman who had given her dowry to the peasants of the baron, of which many of the conspirators could claim to have been beneficiaries of her grace. In the end, they were rounded up in the ensuing storm. Rather than see them executed, the baron let them leave, for he wagered having to live with what they’d done would be a fate far worse than a swift execution. Most of the conspirators killed themselves in the streets within the hour.

Baron Victor crafted a new sword in the aftermath of his wife’s death, and unto it, he bestowed her name (he is aware of the irony). Three times the height of a man, the baron is capable of wielding it as if it were a blade five times smaller than it is. Despite its size, his strength and skill let him use the mighty blade even at smaller ranges, but in especially cramped quarters, he has other, more 'normal' sized weapons he can use to hack apart his foes.

After the death of his wife Annabelle, Baron Victor went on, although some say his smile seemed a little forced than it had in days of yore. The kingdom flourished, and the baron saw his children placed into beneficial marriages (albeit ones they themselves were comfortable with). It was somewhere around his 45th year that the Baron was pulled into the Omniverse. After a period of wandering, he gravitated to the kingdom, and most of his six and a half years in the Omniverse have been in the service of King Aragorn, who Baron Victor sees as an enlightened, caring, and noble monarch, despite the racial ties and poverty that afflict the realm.

The Baron is a visible figure, despite technically being 'unlanded' (he has no fiefs). He was the host/patron of the Camelot Colosseum that took place a year or so ago. His time since then has been dedicated to helping guide the development of Camelot and to take the stress off of his king.
