" Well, for your information," I began to explain to Rin, " if someone joins us who has a 'D' in their first or last name, we could be RSRD, or rose red... Or does that sound too biased to you?" I threw him a stern glare. " Because if so, be my guest and think of something yourself!" I finished with a light giggle.
Not too long before I piped up about the team name, I could hear the two boys trading hushed tones behind me, but I paid no mind to it. Instead, I moved on further ahead, so I wouldn't annoy the two with my whistling of a song I used to listen to on my headphones in my world. Soon enough, I began to sing the lyrics under my breath. " This'll be the day we've waited for... This'll be the day we open up the doo-oor..." I couldn't tell whether or not the boys could hear me, but I honestly didn't care; I was only singing to pass the time... And keep my mind off of the smouldering air...
I completely missed the cave opening in the mountain, and my attention was brought to the gaping hole in the rock when I heard Shulk's voice grow louder. I nearly tripped as I spun around, too... I'd embarrassed myself enough in front of those two that day... Two much more and I'd be unpleasantly humiliated.
" Let's go talk to a dragon that will most possibly attempt to kill us!" I called, my right hand raised and my voice hosting a duo of excitement and sarcasm. Sure, I knew I wasn't going to stay dead... But the act of dying itself is what scared me. However! I am an independent young lady, and I wasn't going to go crying to anyone! Adventure awaited!

When Ruby explained what names they could have if another person with a first or last name with "D" joined their group, an idea popped into his head. Which was actually surprising to him considering how much difficulty he had coming up with anything before. "If we can use the last names too, then Okumura could make ROS. It's not four people, but I think it would work." He didn't know if this idea would be accepted, or if it would be shot down and it turned out they would need four, but he figured he'd share.
They finally stumbled upon the entrance, which got the demon excited. After Shulk pointed it out and Ruby almost tripped, Rin snickered, but could tell that Shulk was a bit uneasy. He wouldn't point that out though, it might just make him think about it even more and cause him to hesitate when they finally encountered Volvagia. Rin was beginning to get excited, even if it was likely that they would end up having to fight the dragon, he would get to see a dragon! How many people can say they've seen one?
Ruby started by shouting that they should get going, which made Rin even more pumped than he already was. "Yeah!" He yelled in response as he began sprinting into the opening in the mountain. As he entered, he was met with a wave of heat similar to when they first got to this "verse." Even for the boy who was mostly unfazed by the heat before this, it almost hurt to be in there and breath. Almost immediately after entering, he ran back out and gasped for air.
"It's... Too hot to breath in there." This was a little disappointing, if they came this far and had to turn back because of a little heat, how would he ever be able to tell anyone about this moment? They killed a giant living rock, scaled a deadly mountain, and now they might have to turn back? Screw that, there had to be another way. "So, any ideas on what to do?" The demon had an idea, but didn't want to suggest using omnillium in case he was wrong, he was really regretting not paying attention now.

"Rin, wait--" Shulk started, but Rin had already dashed off into the cave entrance. Predictably he returned seconds later, smelling of soot and emanating smoke from his ash covered clothes. "you shouldn't rush into danger without a plan," the Homs chastised, looking at both of his headstrong friends worryingly before turning towards the cave. Shulk pondered how this next obstacle could be conquered, and his thoughts soon turned to omnilium. He rummaged through his pockets and retrieved the tiny rainbow colored sphere; even at the top of a mountain it felt cold to touch. "When I arrived, Omni told me that 'omnilium' could create anything I wanted, maybe I could use it to make my clothes heat resistant?" Shulk pondered aloud while staring into the little sphere.
The first time he had tried to use omnilium the sphere hadn't worked at all, maybe a lack of concentration was the problem? "I'm going to test something, I'll need to concentrate," Shulk warned, knowing full well just what kind of hyperactive company he was keeping. The Homs closed his eyes and gripped the sphere tightly, keeping his thoughts focused on one thing: heat-resistance for his clothes. Concentration proved difficult with the heat and distant sounds of crumbling rocks and far away booms; the minutes passed with little fanfare. Ten slow, agonizingly silent minutes later, a pleasant coolness washed over Shulk. The boy opened his eyes and stared down, and his clothes were exactly as they were ten minutes ago.
There was a wonderful absence of sweltering heat now, much like being in the Nexus felt. Shulk glanced down at his omnilium, amazed at what he'd just done, "It... it worked! It took a bit of focus, but it worked!" The boy looked at Ruby and Rin excitedly, "you two should try using this! You just need to concentrate on having clothes that're resistant to extreme temperatures, and you'll get it!" The boy rapidly explained.

Unfortunately for the three adventurers, their "quest" would soon come to and end with the arrival of several burly gorons. At their insistence, the task to awaken Volvagia was abandoned for fear of what the dragon would do in retaliation. The trio were sent on their way after a stern lecture from the goron chief. Shulk decided to return to the Nexus and travel on his own, still keeping the name 'Nealaphh' in mind for when he'd return in the future.

"They just had to come and ruin it..." The demon mumbled after the scolding given by the Gorons. Even though the mission they were sent on was extremely dangerous, the close they got to their destination, the more excited he'd become. So when the same people that told them about the dragon in the first place came and told them not to continue, it was a little annoying. But it seemed even Shulk agreed, as he began heading back to the place they came from pretty soon after the lecturing ended. Rin was a little disappointed that he decided to leave on his own, but he still had one other person that he's met since coming to the Omniverse. And thankfully, she seemed to know a little more about it than Shulk and himself.
Rin gave Ruby a little time after the gorons left to figure out what she was doing, or see if she had anything to say as well, then he would ask, "Soooo, it seems that Shulk is gone now, mind if I travel with you for a while?" The worst thing he could see happening, is Ruby deciding to travel alone as well. This would leave the demon without any knowledge of what lead where, who was hostile, and any other kind of important information that could potentially get him killed. Not that he just needed the knowledge she likely had, he just didn't want to get lonely, especially since the gorons likely wouldn't appreciate his company as much as they would've.
The demon looked at the path they traveled to get to where they were. It was seriously a pain in the ass that, just when they were about to get to where they needed to be, they were told to turn back. There was no telling what kind of creatures they would have to fight just to get back to the bottom, and even if there weren't any they'd still have to deal with the dangerous land scape and irritatingly high temperatures. Maybe he'd try and create a popsicle for the trip... A nice cold popsicle sounded like a good idea in this kind of heat.

PAGE 10 - END OF DAY
I smiled gleefully when Rin suggested the use of last names. Although it mightn't have been the same with Shulk (After all, we didn't know his last name yet! Wait... Does he even have a last name??), it still worked really nicely. "Hey, you are as smart as I thought!" I praised the raven haired teen, throwing him a thumbs up to boot. "Alright, from now on, we're team ROS, led by yours truly, Ruby Rose!" I boasted, jumping jubilantly. I was probably just making more of a fool of myself than I already had... And that's not a good thing... It was just too hard not to be happy about leading yet another team! Well... Even though the second had one less person.
As Rin ran into the newfound entrance, I began to follow, but briskly stopped as he backtracked out of the cave, stating that it was way too hot. I was pretty astounded, to be honest. "Wait wait wait... You cover yourself in flames, yet you can't take the heat? Isn't that kinda... Strange, to you?" I asked, before turning away, realising I may have come across as rude. I mean, I didn't mean to be rude, I was just speaking my mind... I snapped back to reality when Rin requested of any ideas from the two of us, and I was this close to suggesting using Omnillium as I had seen Mr. Layton and Kanda do... But Shulk was already on the case! I let out a defeated sigh. I hadn't yet been of any use to the two... Except maybe for a bit of entertainment on the trip, but other than that I felt kinda useless.
I obliged to Shulk's request and fell silent, staring at the rocky floor and holding my hands behind my back. It took quite some time for the blond boy to finish, and to our delight his attempt had worked! I soon attempted to mimic his meditative state... But I barely proceeded a minute into doing so before a large rumbling was emitted from further down the mountain, launching a heavy rumbling through the ground and into my feet, tipping my balance off and sending me onto my rear.
My sight lifted to a trio of those giant rock-men from earlier, one of which seemed different from his colleagues... Not sure how he looked different, but he just did. They seemed to be speaking rather sternly to Rin and Shulk (I was further away, so I couldn't hear), and the former hung his head as the boulder guys rolled out... Literally. I not-so-gracefully pulled myself up to my feet and stalked over to the duo. "U-uhm... So... What's happenin'?" I asked nervously, dreading what the two had to say. However, they didn't really need to say much... The look on Rin's face told it all. "Actually, never mind, I can see... Should we maybe get going, then?" I suggested, giving a half-hearted grin in an attempt to lighten up the situation.
We arrived at a gate, similar to the one that I emerged through in the Tangled Greens, at which Shulk said his farewells and departed trough the arch. I hung my head, upset that someone I only just met was already leaving... Was I ever going to see that weapon Shulk again? I perked my head back up when Rin asked if he could travel with me. I contained my joy, expressing it through my eyes and lips rather than... Everywhere else, to be blunt. "Sure thing! I'd love to keep travelling with you! I would've liked to keep going with Shulk, too, but whatever! He just decided to leave us!" I complained in jest, letting out a giggle afterwards. I proceeded through the gate, motioning for Rin to follow my lead, back towards the Nexus.
