My coming alt has Medium Awareness, and so I want him to be as close to actually smashing through the Fourth Wall as possible within the rules, to sum it up.
So, how much can they know about being a canonical character in a webcomic that was pulled into an RPG without breaking the rules?

Since I'm the local 4th wall breaker here, and haven't had many complaints over it, I guess I could help.
Really, its walking on a tightrope. You can have your character aware of his own origins, and be aware that every character he runs into isn't a real person (rather a character being controlled by another source).
Try not to go too much into knowing he's in a 'RPG'. I do it with Deadpool, yes, but you'll never see me just do a whole post or thread about knowing about the Omniverse--I like to sprinkle it in, to add to the humor.
It's basically a trial and error thing. Try to be creative, but just don't try to do too much. Also, you could always ask a staffer (probably an admin would be best) what their comfort level is with 4th wall antics.

Officially, it's a no-go. If your character wants to believe that they are in a make-believe world, that's okay, but they can't have any information that they wouldn't otherwise have from their own situation. Essentially you have to treat it as though this was a real world. Meaning that what your character believes is a delusion/mental illness and they aren't privy to any special knowledge.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the
'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters
Samus Aran or
Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
