When you donate, please PM me with the name you donated under and your choice of reward. Each reward is once only. You don't get to change your name colour infinitely for donating once.

-Unlock your second character instantly.
-Lower the requirements for unlocking your third OR fourth character by one level.
-Change the name/description/background/banner of the Whateververse (must be kept for at least a week, nothing too lewd)
-Change my avatar/user title to whatever you wish (must be kept for at least a week, nothing too lewd). Other members or staff may also agree to do this in the name of good sport!
-Change one of your character's name colors to any color (within reason, it's gotta show up on the forum background and can't be too close to mods/admin. Pick 6 digit code from here).
-Reserve a pre-existing character as an NPC or third character. For now I'm going to limit this at twice per player maximum. If you just want a character for your personal use, not as a storyline boss or whatever, you can reserve them even if they're outside of your character's canon. Normal NPC usage rules apply, someone might be able to join as the character later.
-Get around the switch limit if you just need to switch again.

Yo Greg, what do you spend donations on?
For myself, first and foremost donations go towards paying our server and domain costs - about 130 dollars per year. Also, commissioning forum upgrades like the Rest Points system which make all our lives easier. Past that they go towards feeding my ass, and are more of a "thanks for your time" kind of thing. Which is hugely appreciated. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes, and the hardest stuff is usually the technical stuff like actual forum upgrades, which does take a huge amount of my time. I fully believe in the the "pay what you want/can" philosophy, and this site will be around even if people stop donating entirely.

If I do open up a third character slot, and that's IF, it would require some serious prerequisites. Pretty much the only person I think could pull off three characters and still be reasonably active is Proto man. >.> Also maybe Gilda.

What's more likely is giving people the ability to create extra canon NPCs/Primes. So you still get that 'reserved slot'. And I guess if I open up a third character slot, they could do that if they hit the requirements.

Hey that's a pretty good Idea, as long as people didn't take advantage and just making a copy paste character of the character they wanted to third. To be honest though, I can't imagine anybody skillful enough to reaching the prerequisites resorting to that.

In terms of being fully active with all three characters, I absolutely agree that there are very few people who could pull it off. The vast majority are likely to prioritise, giving preference to one or two characters.

That said, there are character concepts that arguably don't require someone to be active all the time with them in order to still make good use of the character. For example, if a certain character is more of a joke character, a sidekick, is more of a pacifist, has a specific role, tends to stick to a specific place...with those kind of characters, it might be perfectly acceptable to keep them on the back burner and only post as them every now and again. In fact, if they're somewhat reliant on a novelty, it might even be preferable not to post too frequently.

Anyway, those kind of characters make for perfect 'third slot' material in my eyes. That said, I absolutely agree with the decision to impose additional requirements, since we don't want to end up with a lot of inactive characters either. It really should be reserved for people that have been around for a while.

I don't see an issue with preference of characters. I go between my main and alt all the time, I rarely rp both at the same time. The third slot just gives people more of the same as a second slot does.

That said, I'm a big fan of strict requirements in order to unlock it.
