Victor arrived at the small town of Nippur the capitol of New Babylon, considering how difficult it could be to build and maintain civilization in the desert Victor was impressed, it was not a massive expansive city but it had plenty of potential, and with the right people working on it, it could become the most powerful city in the dunes. Victor had helped his empire expand far, but he had never had the chance to see how far his work could help a settlement this small. Then again his last country had not had an extremely powerful ruler leading them.
Victor looked up at a banner flying what must have been the New Babylon flag a glorious golden lions head with an unusual pattern on its eye, with all of this over what appeared to be the sun, he wondered what this symbolized, perhaps it signified that new Babylon will rise like the sun, or that it will be a glorious as the sun is bright. It was always interesting to figure out how a country views themselves through their flags.
Looking behind him to make sure that the girl was still following him, the conversations had been fun and done well to pass the time on what could have been a very boring walk, she was beginning to show signs of fatigue not used to walking through the harsh sands of a desert , Wolfe had made journeys like this before but even he was feeling the burn in his muscles from trying to keep his footing on the wet desert sand.
He looked over her clothing and wondered if he would be able to change his like that too. He decided he may as well try but wondered what he could change, the boots and cloak where more for function over design and he had grown quite attached to them over the years.
Looking up at the flag he remembered that the king Gilgamesh had been wearing fully golden armor and if the flag was mostly gold then it was probably a colour used to represent his Kingdom. Just like the red on his clothing represented the empire that had provided it to him in the first place , Victor smiled at the idea and began working on the new design of his clothing in his head, changing all the red to a dark golden trim, still dark enough for stealth but more befitting of the Kingdom he was visiting.
The pair arrived at a closed wooden gate, probably erected quickly to provided some level of protection to the people inside, after all deserts where a common home for raiders and brigands trying to hide from the authority's in a vast waste land. "Nice to see that there is some care taken to protect the people" Victor thought to himself.
There was no visible guard on the wall to allow entry, maybe many of the residents where still busy watching the Dante's Abyss. Victor decided to do the only polite and well mannered thing possible in this situation. " Shall we knock?" He said to Raina in a joking tone before unsheathing his dagger, and hitting the gate with the metal hilt three times making a large amount of noise as he used all the strength in his arm. " Well let us see if anyone is home" Victor laughed as he re-sheathed his blade and waited for a response from beyond the wall.

Raina watched as the man led her into a small town. It seemed a lot of work was put into this place but it still lacked the ability to grow. All around this city, flags with a golden lion where adorned and hung proudly. She saw the man in front of her change the trim of his clothing to gold as almost trying to give her thanks to the golden lion. She was fatigued from the fighting and the walk. The amount of mana she used in the last few hours was taking it's toll on her. She fell to her knees when they got to the door that Victor asked about knocking.
The girls head hung low as her hair fell in front of her face. She wasn't use to all this. The fighting, the travel, the sand, and most of all, the humans. The only people she had known where other Divines, people of her race. People that adored her for being their princess. This world was strange, no one knew of her status or even cared. She had already ran into villains, things that would not be allowed back home. She had to fight for herself and not let the guards or the heroes do it for her. She had evolved into a hero herself. She stood up shakily and held on to a wall trying not to fall.
"Please forgive me. I am not used to all this fighting and traveling my whole body aches from it's lack of Mana. I may have over exerted myself a little. Will they allow us to rest here?" She asked with an embarrassed look on her face.

Victor looked at the girl struggling to stand up and felt a twinge of guilt, it had been his idea to take this journey and it had left her in such a state, perhaps if she had not had to heal that turtle monster she would be fine, a mage without mana is like an assassin without stamina, it leads to exhaustion and can cause heath problems at least that is how it was back in his world.
Luckily for them the gate opened and a young man in light leather armor appeared from behind it, he was armed with what appeared to be a short sword, pretty standard stuff for a town guard, luckily for him Wolfe was not here for a fight. " What business do you have here in Nippur , strangers ?" The guard inquired. Wolfe lowered the hood of his cloak revealing his almost glowing red eyes, light brown hair and handsome face, the guard seemed to recognize him. " I am here to gain an audience with the king of this settlement to finish a prior discussion about me aligning with this glorious kingdom, this woman here wanted to learn more about the people in the dunes and thus I suggested this would be a good place to start, besides she is also pretty exhausted ,so I guess you could say we are seeking sanctuary from the harsh desert" Victor said in a confidant tone.
" Well the king did say we are to allow sanctuary to all who seek it so welcome to Nippur" The guard started to open the gate wider to allow Wolfe and Raina into the town before stopping to ask a question " You look familiar do I know you?" Victor responded with a witty retort " I have glowing red eyes and a godly handsome face, how many other people look like me ?"
The guard appeared to think about it for a few seconds before a look of realization came across his face " you were in DA right? Victor Wolfe if I remember correctly? You helped out our king a lot, thanks for that Banis..." Before the guard could say the nickname he had seen on those shirts in front of the girl he slammed the guard against the gate preventing him from finishing the sentence by placing a hand over his mouth " please don't finish that sentence, after all you seem like a nice guy ,and it would be a horrible way to introduce my self to this town if I had to paint this gate red" Victor smiled maliciously, making sure the girl still leaning against the wall could not see the malicious look on his face, if she learned of what he had become famous for she would hate him, and he did not want that.
The guard nodded and Victor let him down patting him on the back " good man, lets put this little scuffle behind us" Victor said. Once he was sure the man was not going to try and attack him in revenge he walked over to the girl struggling to stand and knelled down with his back to her " Get on my back he said" the girl tried to act like she was fine " I'm fine, I can walk" she said before almost collapsing again " Listen it almost painful to see you struggling so much and I am far less exhausted than you, besides it should be a short walk to the nearest seat and then I can put you down, besides friends are supposed to support each other right ?" the girl reluctantly agreed and climbed onto Wolfes back, He held onto her legs through his arms and managed to stand, slowly carrying the girl into the town, she was not as heavy as Victor would have thought.

Raina did not agree with the man smashing the guard into the gate. She couldn't be sure if he was hurt or not or if this man with her was a threat. After all she didn't know of his kind. So when he ordered her to get on his back and let him carry her, she did but with a plan. As he was walking, she dug her knees into the man's ribs and grabbed the knife from his back and placed it against his throat tightly. Any sudden movement and he would be cut.
"You are going to give me some answers, right now, mortal. What do you plan to do to me? What is this place, and why did you stop that guard from talking?" She said as a strand of hair fell in front of her face. She wasn't the violent type but she knew how to handle herself espicially if it was to lead her into some trouble.

" Why I simply plan to allow you to rest, and introduce you to the king of this town, That guard was talking about a very dark moment from my past that I would rather forget about, you see there was a woman who during a survival island event known as DA, I was ordered to kill, as far as I was told when you died in this event you simply reappeared outside the island into a lobby area, a good way to burn off pent up aggression and win some cool prizes too, what I was not told was that I had one of the only weapons that would banish someone , sending them to an inescapable underworld to be tormented, I stabbed the woman with that serum and watched in horror as she turned to dust, it wasn't until later that I realized that event was broad-cast across the entire world, I felt sick to my stomach that I had done such an evil thing without realizing" a single tear rolled down Wolfe's cheek glinting as it hit the dagger.
"And that is why I stopped that guard from talking, He was about to reveal to someone who I don't want to hate me, something she would surly hate me for, I plan to offer my skills to help the people of this kingdom bring order to the Dunes to try and atone for the horrible thing I did. I simply thought that you might want to see one of the towns rather than wander around the Endless dunes forever." Wolfe spoke in a very somber way lacking the normally happy energy he tended to give out. "If you want to leave I wont stop you but I promise you this, no harm will befall you inside these walls, I swear on my life, remember if I wanted to harm you I have had plenty of openings to do it. Now please put the dagger back into its scabbard, before one of us have to do something we regret , after all didn't you say every life is precious, and yet here you are with a knife pressed against my windpipe, somehow I doubt I could regenerate that" Victor said with a slight hint of sarcasm.

She released the knife from his throat and got off his back embarrassed. She held the knife out towards him for him to take it. "I did say all life is precious, but that doesn't mean I won't protect myself. I know when I have to hurt, I know when I have to end someone to save others. That is a last resort to me. But never assume I am helpless." She said as her eyes glinted with the sparkle they always have. She looked like the typical beauty in distress but behind those sparkling eyes was the soul of a fighter.
The wind howled as her hair and dressed blew behind her. "I am not a killer, but I do what I must to survive. Remember that." She said as she closed her eyes and let the wind kiss her skin she could feel her mana slowly recovering but it wasn't enough as she dropped the knife to the ground and collapsed.

Victor thought about how to deal with the girl once he had talked her out of covering the path in front of them with his blood. He was angry, all he wanted to do was help her and yet she threatened him with his own weapon. It did not help that the blade was a blade made as a gift for him by a man he had a huge respect for. Perhaps he would test out her theory that she was not helpless. gems on the blades at his hip started to glow feeling the killing intent radiating from their owner. " Who was she to judge his actions" he thought to himself. He only did what he needed to do to make the best of his environment, and if that was wrong then he did not want to be right.
The fact that she was distrusting of him despite the fact that he could have disposed of her much easier at earlier points in time also began to piss him off. Reaching for one of the blades at his waist he turned to the girl intent on working off some of the frustration he had built up.
What he saw however made most of this anger fade and be replaced with a sense of worry, the girl was in the process of collapsing onto the dagger she had stolen and, although it would be ironic justice, Wolfe reacted almost instantly with a rapid burst of movement kicking the blade away from the girl whilst trying to catch her in the process. He was to exhausted to fully catch her but managed to prevent her head from hitting the ground.
" You are such a confusing person, acting all strong and then needing me to carry you. Its cute but please don't hold a knife to someones throat and then collapse, you are lucky I am a nice guy or I may have taken offense to that" Wolfe giggled slightly before carrying the near unconscious girl over to the nearest bench lying her down. The rain was still poring down and without the blazing sun the cold had began to set in. Wolfe decided to do what any gentleman would do, and took off his cloak placing it over the resting girl to keep her warm whilst she rested.
Wolfe looked down to his leg and noticed that the dagger had not been hit by his boot but instead, had sliced into his lower leg, " Maybe kicking a blade designed specifically for slicing through muscle was not the smartest idea , my regeneration better heal that before I bleed out" Victor thought to himself, the rain washing a thick trail of blood down the road , Victor fell onto the bench next too Raina, using all the rapid bursts had left his energy very low, and then needing to heal a deep wound had just about finished him off, he would need to rest before moving again, just being around this girl had been exhausting, he knew marines who caused less stamina damage that this Wolfe thought to himself in a joking manner.

Again this black space. Nothing here except for her floating form. She held her hands against her chest and floated in this empty darkness. Such a peaceful but never ending darkness. No fighting, no bloodshed, no tears. Just darkness, just a never ending pitch black nothingness.
What awaits me in this dark, lonely hell? Is this my punishment for overstepping from my duties as a princess? It was because I left that day that I survived. I was supposed to be at the castle with my parents, but I was in the garden. It was all a huge amount of luck for me. Rose, my magic trainer had asked me to come with her for some extra practice. We didn't even hear the screams. We didn't see the corpses walk, we didn't see them surround us. Our friends, our family. Dead, but walking towards us, craving our life. Aria's maniacal laugh alerted us. Rose fought valiantly and did her best defend me but all she did was distract them long enough for me to defeat them. Her life was sacrificed to save mine because I was royality. Was my life more important?
A gentle light broke through the pitch blackness. The girl's eyes cracked up little by little. She awoke on a bench next to the cloaked man. It seemed he was unconscious and his leg was bleeding. She instantly placed her hands over his leg and healed his wound. She stood up feeling refreshed and looked around for anyone.

Gilgamesh entered the verse with a scowl on his face. He died...but one of his subjects had managed to win the tournament and received many prizes. He had severe bad luck in the tournament but he had managed to exterminate many of the mongrels that dare steal from his treasury. He smirked, his treasures belong to Babylonians now. The King walked out of the rift from the Danteverse to see it seal up behind him. The King extended his hand and felt the warm source of Omnilium flowed through him to form his machine. A couple of minutes passed and his warm, golden vehicle had sprung to life. The King got on and turned the ignition key and felt his baby purr to life. He revved the motorcycle and began his trip to return to his castle.

Victor awoke to notice that the pain from the cut had faded, he looked at Raina who was looking around the town for other inhabitants, she must have healed him, his natural regeneration was fast but not that fast. standing up he stretched out his limbs feeling the blood rushing back into them.
Yet again he had passed out due to exhaustion, stamina would be something he would need to work on in the future, at least he had actually reached the intended location before passing out. He started to repair the blood socked clothing by focusing energy into it, after all if he was going to meet a king it would be best to turn up without being covered in ones own blood he thought to himself. He wondered what was going through the girls mind, after all she had just threatened to kill him, and then she healed his wounds, she was either a great healer or the worlds worst murderer.
Victor looked over the landscape, the rain had passed and the sun was beginning to return bringing heat back to the desert, just as nature intended. He walked over to the girl, who now looked much more lively, her magic must have returned to her whilst they where both out.
" It is nice to see that you have recovered, remind me not to kill any more abominations in front of you, after all it would be a shame for you to end up in such bad condition again" Wolfe giggled at his own joke. " I thank you for healing me, although for future situations if we ever end up with you healing me again you do not need to expend a lot of power for me, you see whilst it is true extreme blood loss or organ damage can kill me I do have a pretty potent natural rate of healing, so if this ever happens again, just heal it enough to stop the blood a bit." Wolfe smiled and as if to prove his point picked up the dagger that he had kicked away and sliced lightly down the palm of his hand, showing the wound to Raina, the scar began to close almost instantly and before more than a few drops of blood could hit the ground it had sealed.
" Our powers are almost opposites in a way, your power heals others at the cost of your own energy, meanwhile my power heals myself at the cost the people I am fighting due to allowing me to fight them for longer." Victor Wolfe said with a grin.
"So have you decided more on your plan of action, I feel like you could fit in with this kingdom well, after all you do have an air of royalty to you, and this kingdom will one day bring justice to this lawless wasteland and protect its citizens I think we might need medics, I suggest you talk to the King, he is a good guy if a bit, eccentric. How do you feel about the colour gold by the way ?" Victor said whilst laughing at a joke she would have no way of understanding.

The sun felt nice on her skin. It was a lot cooler now that the rain had doused the sand. She felt the breeze dance around the sandy plains and jumped a little as she heard words of the man she thought was still unconscious. She regained her breathe, turned around, and blushed a little looking absolutely adorable. She placed her hand over her heart.
"Please forgive me for my rudeness and the sudden attack! I... I get a little paranoid.. ever since the day I left home and entered here. I cannot read humans as well as I hoped. Please don't hold it against me. I... I just don't know how to do anything right anymore. I am just lost. This just isn't coming to me easy." She said sadly as her eyes watered a little. 'Please.. don't hate me. I just don't want to be hurt." She said as she sniffles a little.
She really wants to help people but with her little knowledge of this world and human's ways all she did was mess things up. She hugged her arms around her self and looked away as the tears fell. She didn't want to mess up anymore. Why was she even here? Did Omni really think this was a good idea to bring her here?

Gilgamesh saw his city of Nippur and he grinned as he ran past the two guards. He turned to look at them as he saw them coughing up the King’s dust before returning to their attentive position. He grinned as he pulled up towards his magnificent palace. He slowed down the vehicle until it came to a complete stop and he walked up towards the door. He stopped right at the entrance and left his hand at the handle of the knocker.
The abyss. What a god forsaken place. The King looked down into his green duffel bag that lay at his side. At least he had gotten many of his treasures reclaimed for his Kingdom. He slipped his hand around the Golden Dragon Egg, knocking aside the Silver one. He felt the pulsating heartbeat of the Rathian Egg that lay inside. The memory of him riding the Golden Rathian appeared in his head and he couldn’t help but grin at the immense power that lay in his hands.
He grinned softly as he took his hand out of the bag and got the strength to finally knock on the door. It immediately opened to a lesser servant who originally looked uninterested as he opened the door. He looked up to see his King in his war attire and his face paled. He dropped to a knee and spoke with a stutter.
“M-my King! I did not expect you back already.” He placed his fist over his heart and looked at the ground. Gilgamesh walked passed the man and had begun to dematerialize his Golden Armor.
“Be glad I had blessed you with my presence so early. I’ll be going to my throne room. Serve me something, i’m starving.” He walked away and heard a faint. “Yes your majesty.” He scoffed before entering the long hallway with the bright sun blinding him. He raised an arm to block the sunlight until he reached the end of the hallway and entered his throne room. He saw his marble throne with gold decals and sat upon it. He set his green bag on the ground and placed the two eggs one the pedestals that were next to the throne. The King let out a sigh before leaning back into his throne.
Something was missing. Gilgamesh smiled before he let the Omnilium flowed through his arm and into his hands. He shut his eyes tightly and concentrated for a few minutes. He felt the excess flow back into his body and he peeked open one eye to see a ferocious lion that sat in front of him. It let out a tremendous roar before walked lazily over to the throne and put it’s head down on his lap.
“I missed you...” The King began to pet the Lion’s fur and it purred loudly. A group of servants ran into the door, sweating and breathing heavily.
“Are you okay your Majesty?! I heard something dangerous come in here!”
The King laughed and the lion turned to them. He struggled trying to lift up the body of the Lion but failed horribly. “Look it’s Ishtar!!!” The servants sighed and looked at the lion with great concern before bowing out of the room and taking their leave.
Ishtar turned to the King and began to rub its head on his legs and Gilgamesh smiled. He returned to petting the lion in his palace. Things were now what the used to be, underneath his rule. He really felt that he was once again in Babylon.
“Isn’t it great to be King?”

Victor heard the loud rumbling of the golden vehicle never having heard or seen anything like it before, it seemed to serve a similar purpose to a horse but was made entirely of metal, shining majestically against the desert sun. The king clearly glad to be back to his realm zoomed off towards the palace that dominated the view.
"Well the town may be small but the king has managed to create a very suitable seat from which to rule his kingdom from, perhaps one day the dunes will be covered in glorious palaces like that, all hoisting the same golden flag, what a glorious sight to behold that would be" Victor thought to himself.
Victor turned to the girl following him and with as nice of a smile he could muster said “Well it looks like the reason I came to this place has just arrived, and thus I am going to head to the palace, I just hope this king is not as unusual as the first princess I met here. If you are still interested in meeting with a king then you may follow me, I will introduce you. Just allow me to go ahead first, we may discuss subjects unbefitting of a lady as refined as yourself, If the guards as you are there to speak to Gilgamesh. With this I say farewell for now I hope to see you in the palace soon”
Victor gave a polite bow and ran off towards the palace felling the air rush through his hair as he zoomed through the streets towards the massive domain of his future king. Wondering how their first meeting since the Abyss would go.
Victor arrived at the glorious palace noticing a line of servants brining in what appeared to be food, “ Hm so not all the food is conjured, or maybe it is and is just being brought as tribute , either way this is a good sign, and a bad one” Victor thought to himself.
Concentrating he conjured a large bag full of apples and a copy of the uniforms the servants wore and hid his daggers under them and started walking over to the other servants whilst keeping his head low, and suppressing his presence he followed them through the door to the palace. He drew some suspicious looks but due to his weapons being covered by the clothing none voiced their concerns allowing him to pass.
“They must be confidant in their leader, or that infiltration practice I managed to get during the abyss was much more useful that I thought, normally a guard would have stopped me by now”
Victor spoke to the group of servants clearly making their way to the kitchen, it was not his intended location, as much as he was sure the cook would be a joy to meet, he had a bigger target to meet. “So I am new here and was asked to bring lord Gilgamesh these apples directly, could one of you men give me the directions?” The servants looked at each other, and then at Wolfe, clearly suspicious ,but in the end directed him towards the door that the king was beyond, he could here talking on the other side of the door, and just as Victor was about to open it, some servants opened the door.
Before the door could close shut Wolfe used a quick burst of movement pushing him past it before it could seal him out “that was very convenient” Victor thought to himself. He looked around the throne room noticing the King sitting next to a huge beast, the likes of which he had never seen outside of gladiatorial arenas. However this one was resting its head on the kings lap as if it was an over grown house cat.
“Isn’t it great to be King?” Gilgamesh asked.
“I am not sure I tend to leave that to other people, it could be stressful without the right people to help them reach their full power and potential, I seek to help with that, I will use every skill at my disposal to make your ruling as easy as it can be. After all you have something I really like.”
Victor took a step forward into the light dropping the bag and making his servants outfit to change back into his normal attire his cloaks golden trim shining the light.
“You have ambition, the drive to do anything to achieve your goals no matter what the cost may be, it is very nice to see someone who has a great potential to rule this entire desert. And that is why I believe you should be the one true king, you are proper royalty, unlike that green haired girl” Victor shivered at the memories of dealing with Guu .
“ I even managed to bring someone I meet in the desert to this place to meet with you, after all she has healing magic and packs a nice punch, I thought she may be of interest to you she should be headed here soon”
Victor reached down towards the bag of apples picking two up, he took a bite out of one enjoying the sweet juice pouring down his throat, He then offered on to the king sitting on his throne
“So apple?”

Gilgamesh smirked at the man’s remarks he raised his hand and shook his head, declining for the apple. While Gilgamesh was welcoming his assassin, Ishtar was much more, defensive of his King. It got up from it’s nice cuddling with the King and peered it’s eyes at the man. The Lion bared it’s fangs and growled a little bit before Gilgamesh spoke.
“Ishtar, down! Come here.” His voice echoed through the halls with vindication and the lion cowered away from the man and returned back to the King’s side, it’s eyes still glued to Victor.
The King remained in his seat and continued to pet the lion that lay at his beck and call.
“Why hello Victor. I see you continue to be of use to me. I assume you aren’t here just to see the truth and some simple recruitment. Are you here to reclaim the favor that I so graciously gave you?
His eyes looked uninterested and he snapped his fingers. A humble servant rushed into the room, sweat dripping off of his brow. It was obvious that he was new in the castle and had heard stories of the King’s anger.
“Go fetch me and my guest a bottle of...oh I don’t know. Surprise me. A malicious grin came onto his face and the Servant’s face paled. “Make sure you don’t serve me some of that swill you drink. Your life depends on it.”

Victor stared down the beast feeling the intent to kill him it was almost radiating, if Gilgamesh had not ordered it to stand down. It would probably be trying to spread the contents of his jugular over the floor. He was not phased by this though, and held his gaze. In his line of work there was always someone who wanted him dead. It was a feeling he knew too well.
He turned his gaze towards the throne and the king sitting upon it, Gilgamesh seemed to radiate authority, giving commands to his servants as if it was more natural to him than walking. Victor smiled at the comment of the king, he thought about how to respond for a moment before replying.
"Why of course I did not come here just for some minor recruitment and to discuss the way the world works, I just like to help my allies as much as possible, and its always nice to find people who you see eye to eye with, I have met too many people in the world who I, hmm, had some slight disagreements with that may have left some resentment on both sides."
Victor thought about all the people he had met so far and how much conflict there own morality had caused between them, from the fanatical Okor, to the overly kind Raina. He had wondered if this verse was some kind of hell filled with only honor-bound fools and bleeding hearts. But now he had met a king empowered with ambition and the power and charisma that was needed to rule. this felt like a good sign.
"As for that favor call it a..." Victor paused, formulating the best word for the situation in his mind before continuing, "Freebie, an example of my work and how useful it can be to your cause, after all I do believe the weapon obtained from that little infiltration served you well, all I ask in return is that you allow me to keep serving you and your kingdom."
A servant came back into the room carefully handling a rather expensive looking bottle of wine and two golden goblets, as he hurried over to Victor.Clearly showing the signs of stress that must come with serving a powerful king, the servant poured both goblets and passed them on to both men before leaving the room. Victor took a sip of the aromatic liquid, it tasted like heaven on his taste buds.
"You have your servants trained well, this is a great choice of drink for this sort of situation. There is one more thing I need now that I think about it. I need information and targets. If I do not have a target then I am no better than your common serial killer, and we both know I am better than that." Victor joked laughing at his own morbid sense of humor towards his occupation.
"So my lord, tell me, who are the enemies of this kingdom? And who should I put on my list as my second target as the assassin of New Babylon? After all, I am sure there are people who you simply do not have the time to deal with yourself and my blades are always looking for something to dig into."
Victor continued to drink the wine as he awaited a response from the king. He wondered how this mighty ruler would respond to an offer from the young assassin.

Gilgamesh leaned in towards the man and looked him in the eyes. His face looked fresh and young, but somehow experienced. He chuckled at the thought of making the man jump through hoops to assist him but he dismissed the playful thought. Now what did Gilgamesh want to send the young assassin to do…
"Well now, we have the Empire to deal with…but I already have some men on the case for that. My other subjects are not as skilled as you…but I think your worth is much higher than a babysitter."
He raised an eyebrow as he took another sip of his wine. The lion next to him, however, didn't like the lack of attention and swatted at the King's hand. The glass of wine shattered and stained all over white shirt. His brow furrowed and his teeth grit as he stood and raised his hand. A sense of anger quelled in his eyes before he took a deepen breath and stopped himself from backhanding the enormous lion before him.
Ishtar had his tail between his legs and hid behind the throne as the King called out for a servant to mop up the rest of the spilled wine and shattered glass. Gilgamesh rolled his eyes and set his unhappy glare onto Victor.
"The barbarians up north of us are a problem as well as the beasts around us." His voice was stained by his bad mood and was full of bad will. "However, if you think you are able to keep up with me…I might have you stick around and carry on a bigger assignment with me."
His scowl slowly disappeared entirely and his eyes were set steady on his path.

Victor thought over everything the king had just told him, he had heard talk of the empire in passing during the build up to the Abyss, apparently they were a group powerful enough to have power across many of the worlds. Still Victor had no intention of babysitting people.
"The empire are a powerful foe but it will be a good learning experience for our brothers in arms, they will not learn anything if I arrive and keep them safe. Without a real sense of danger they will never truly gain the experience necessary to reach their full potential."
He shivered at the feeling of the king’s anger in the air, having to force himself not to take a step back, Victor suppressed his natural instincts telling him to retreat a few steps and continued to craft his response.
“Now I do enjoy killing barbarians as much as the next man, after all they are a plague of society that if not dealt with can spread and cause severe problems. But the town does seem to have enough guards that they will not pose an immediate threat. There will always be time to kill barbarians later, I am more interested in what this bigger assignment is." Victor said the hunger of a big hunt blazing in his eyes, letting out an air of ambition to take on another big target.
"So what is this assignment you wish for us to cooperate on? After all if you are ask me for assistance then it must be dangerous, devious and likely to have at least one person dead by the end of it. I like the sound of all these things, so tell me. What can I do to assist you my lord"
The sly half grin Victor had on his face revealed all his feelings towards the prospect, the thrill, the ambition and the sheer joy at having a chance to do something important for his new lord.
