Wellworth the Bomb-BARD-ier
#1
(Creating this alt in lieu of Jace, who can be deleted.) Smile

Character name: Otto Wellworth, the Bomb-BARD-ier

Character source: Original

Character history: Otto Wellworth is all about value. As the only bard for hire in the realm, he believes his services should provide paying adventurers with a little bang as it were, for their buck. Whether it's empowering his companions with thunderous song, or entertaining them with explosive riffs from his spectral guitar, creative ballistics is the name of Wellworth's game.

Specializing in area-of-effect crowd control and buff tactics, Wellworth feels most at home charging into battle against hordes of small enemies. In a mercenary capacity, he frequently accompanies groups of adventurers on spectacular quests to the far-reaches of the realm, blasting and strumming his way to glory (and having a hell of a good time along the way).

Physical Description: [Image: tumblr_n58cp9aSiG1sgr6ilo1_1280_zps52733101.png]

Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 4
SPD: 2
TEC: 2

Starting Proficiencies:

Ranged Proficiency (1000), Area Attack Proficiency (600), Buff Proficiency (400), Debuff Proficiency (1000)

Starting Powers:

None

Starting Moves: (1500 Total) (As a rule, playing a simple chord takes a second or two, while a complex chord takes roughly five seconds.)

Spectral Guitar: The Blues (300 OM)

Wellworth strums a simple blues chord on his spectral guitar, sending waves of sound thirty feet in every direction. Enemies who hear it become struck by great sorrow, slowing their reaction time and imposing lethargy as they question the struggle and why nothing ever seems to go their way. The effect lasts roughly ten seconds.

Spectral Guitar: Rock and Roll (600 OM) Requires Area Attack Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency

Wellworth strums a complex rock and roll chord on his spectral guitar, sending waves of explosive energy forward in a twenty foot cone. Beginning in front of him, the ground begins to rumble and tear, rolling forward to knock down anyone in the affected range. At the end of the cone a pillar of earth erupts from the ground, extending ten feet into the air and flinging any unfortunate souls skyward.

Spectral Guitar: Trance (300 OM) Requires Area Attack Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency

Wellworth strums a complex chord on his spectral guitar, sending waves of enrapturing energy twenty feet in every direction. Enemies who hear it become entranced, unable to move as long as the music continues. Maintaining the music causes Wellworth great physical stress, maxing out at about fifteen seconds before he collapses.

The Berserker's Anthem (300 OM) Requires Ranged Proficiency, Buff Proficiency

Wellworth launches into bellowing song, inciting a berserker rage in all nearby allies. Those affected by the anthem become mindlessly violent, lashing out at all nearby enemies with no regard for their own safety. They feel no pain and won't quit until the effect wears off, all enemies are dead, or they die themselves. While Berserker's Anthem provides no tangible increase to stats, the ferocity it instills may take enemies off guard, allowing those affected to break through defenses and deal additional damage. The effect lasts roughly 20 seconds.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

The most BAMF Bard 'round these parts. Love the moves too!

Just a couple minute issues:

Spectral Guitar: Rock and Roll: This will actually only costs 300 OM since it has the same effect and execution every time. Unless I'm missing a detail?

Spectral Guitar: Metal: Standard Moves can increase one stat by +1 briefly, whereas Super Moves can increase a single stat by +3 briefly, or you can spread out the boost (i.e. +2 ATK & +1 DEF). So if you wish for it to remain a standard move it'll have to be nerfed.

Everything else is approved!

Dug up Jace's log so you could do the CC proper when this is all approved: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=1944

Quote:Spectral Guitar: Metal (600 OM) Requires Ranged Proficiency, Buff Proficiency

Wellworth strums a simple chord on his spectral guitar, sending a wave of enraging energy toward a single target. If the target hears the sound they are thrown into a fit of rage, going berserk on all nearby enemies and increasing their ATK and DEF by 1 (is this how I would do a buff?). While affected, they will not respond to damage and will continue to fight blindly until knocked unconscious or killed, exercising no restraint. The effect lasts for about fifteen seconds.

Retooling this. Our lord and savior the fabulous Karl Jak says stat buffs are all Super Moves.
