I like the two ones that have skulls.
It also might be worth having a persistent logo (a Brand log) that will be the same each year, and then each contest has its own logo, like Super Bowl or Wrestlemanias.
Also could do a logo that parodies the 2K games. DANTE'S ABYSS 2K15 !

From one artist to another, I like the skull impaled by the sword the most. It's the cleanest. I think if you extend the sword through the bottom of the skull, you can put DA (vertically) on the upper portion, and the year on the bottom portion.
