Official Move Approval III
#41
What does 'continuously apply pressure' mean in the context of the Smoke Shot?

Not that it matter since you have Ranged and Physical Strength, but what is the max range on the whip?

So the last move is just the smokey burst and nothing else?

Violet Wrote:Sorry, roil = coil. At the time I made the original move, I saw "roil" as meaning the same or similar to coil, and liked the word enough to work it into the description without bothering to look up the actual definition. That's laziness on my part.

I am willing to take on the ranged control proficiency, as indicated in the original description, no prob. The original intent was that the coil(s) would, at the time of execution, already have a target and go toward that target, but I did not consider that if the target moves before the coil could reach them what would happen. Taking on the ranged control would make sense for that scenario. Here's the updated description:

Pain - 300 OM (although willing to do 600 OM)

(Requires Ranged Proficiency, Area Attack Proficiency, Ranged Control proficiency and/or Homing Proficiency)
Violet crosses her arms over her chest, and a drape of energy surrounds her. She then submerses herself in a dreamlike state, eyes hazing over into a eerie reddish glow, and reaches out with a black translucent coil of smoky ki, grasping hold of opponent(s) and shocking them with the invisible hands of energy. The coil(s) crawl along the ground rather quickly (think of flowing water or really thick smoke). This attack takes at minimum 30 seconds to charge (longer if targets are further away/multiple targets), and usually causes some temporary disorientation to the user after it is used. Takes at least five minutes to recharge before it can be used again.

You'll need to put in whether this is a remote control attack or a homing one (homing would be fire and forget, or require no aiming whatsoever - remote control would require Violet to chase down the targets with her own technique). It says multiple targets; does that mean she can spread out smoke? What is the limit on its area of effect?

It would be nice to be able to do both, depending on her intent at execution. If a situation allows her more time to work with it, being able to direct the coils towards target(s) as they move around would be cool, otherwise, it's just shooting them at targets, and risk missing if the target moves.

As for targets, yes, the intention is to be able to manipulate it to spread further away from her if she needs it to, with an area no greater than 20 yards (60 feet). The further away she needs it to go, the more time she has to spend executing it, leaving her somewhat vulnerable to attack. Targets that are close may get hit by homing coils rather than actively controlled ones. Multiple targets may be effected, depending on how much power she throws into the move, which can be quite demanding on her (and leave her weaker after execution). Not sure how many max targets to give it, definitely nothing ridiculous, maybe 3-5 max?

I am thinking it may be interesting to split this attack up into two, one using the homing proficiency and as you said "fire and forget it", and another (perhaps named "Oblivion", after the name of Anima's move(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD9UhmXpCXs) in which Pain was inspired) that deals with the remote controlled proficiency, and being able to move while executing the attack.

Humm, lemme edit these around again...

Smoke Shot – 300 OM (requires Ranged Proficiency)
Using the palms of either hand, Delsin can fire a short-burst medium range high-pressured smoke blast, being able to reach 40 meters, with a moderate rate of fire. The projectile of smoke is relatively fast, therefore it doesn't do too much damage by itself, usually forcing Delsin to continuously apply pressure with a numerously high amount of shots fired and landed if he wants to keep his distance and make it work.

Fire Chain – 300 OM (requires Physical Strength)
Delsin unwraps the chain on his wrist, surrounding it with fiery smoke, jumping forward a bit, and swinging it at an opponent. The attack itself is very predictable, as Delsin revs his arm all the way back before a swing, giving the enemy a good idea that he's going to use it. If it connects however, it does a potentially high damaging hit. Generally used as Delsin's last close range option when an enemy gets too close to shoot at. The length of the chain itself is about 1.5 meters long, and Delsin can only make this move connect if he's 5 meters away from an enemy.

Smoke Dash – 300 OM (requires Phasing, and Burst Movement)
Rushing forward, Delsin morphs into a non-damaging cloud of smoke for a single second, travelling about 8 meters in a single direction. Can be used in the air, but cannot be used for longer than that one second. Delsin is able to use this move upon touching any ground surface, but not twice in quick succession. Because this attack does no damage whatsoever, it's mainly used as a dodging movement.

In this form, Carn can charge at targets like a ground torpedo while leaving a trail of damage from the high-velocity, sharp razor-lined chainsaw that operates like tank tracks, dragging the rest of the body. Every attack takes 5 seconds, 2 seconds for targeting, turning with vernier thruster sideways and 3 for the high-speed charge attack. Carn can also choose someone to wield the objectform, causing the wielder to enter a berzerked state which lightens footwork, hastens attack speed thanks to the vernier thrusts assisting each swing and bursts in maniacal laughter. Once wielded, Carn will suffer the same amount of damage the wielder recieves for that round and is unable to fight individually as humanform.

Underlined the modification. Made it vague enough to taste. For the sake of being very descriptive, Carn turns into a 6-foot chainsaw with a 5-foot blade and vernier thruster that helps with turning, lateral motion is possible because of the high-velocity chains themselves that acts like tank tracks. Wielding Carn makes it easier to attack as a chainsaw since the vernier then assists each swing of the wielder. Isn't that vague enough for such a caveat? What else do I need to change?

Filth seeps from Okor's joints, hiding him within a layer of decay. It beings to bubble and seethe, forming into ceramite plates, rotten bundles of servo muscles, and rusted mechanisms. Over roughly 3 seconds, he is reborn into a suit of terminator armour, greatly increasing his strength and durability, and driving him to greater feats of martial prowess. While encased in the armour, Okor is far less agile, and a much larger target, but the trade off in sheer power is more than worth it in his eye. As an added bonus, many weapons have no small amount of difficulty penetrating several inches of unholy armour.

I think this looks good, but I'm going to have Omni look it over as he has a keener eye for things.

I'm guessing this would be 600 OM as he can attack on his own and aid an ally.

Gomu Gomu Red Hawk (Tier 1 Super Move)
(Physical Strength, Elasticity, Gomu Gomu Bullet)
A Haki enhanced version of Gomu Gomu Jet Bullet. After briefly entering Gear Second, Luffy uses Armament Haki to vulcanize his arm while stretching it behind him. When cocked back, his arm ignites from friction, releasing a stream of fire. Luffy then drives his fist into the target, creating a fiery explosion that inexplicably billows out through their back, without actually piercing them, and causing immense damage.

Yellow Kingdom Hearts (Tier One Offensive Super Move): Long ago, the original Kingdom Hearts disappeared in the wake of the Keyblade War. Since its disappearance, many have tried to replicate the original. The yellow Kingdom Hearts was created by a dark group called Organization XIII from the hearts of men. Mickey has harnessed the power of this Kingdom Hearts and, when he is in desperate need, can call upon it to help him conjure a devastating beam of golden energy. Mickey must have about five seconds of charge-up time in order to make proper connection with Kingdom Hearts before firing.

Also, I have a Move that allows me to destroy a barrier Mickey has created for offensive effect, but do I need a separate move for the actual barrier? If so, I can create one.

Probably, yes. I'm not sure on the context, but pretty much anything that can be used for an offensive means needs a move.

What I mean is, I already have approved and purchased a move called "Bubble Buster" that can take a barrier created by Mickey and destroy it, with the "shards of energy" that made the barrier attacking an opponent a la shrapnel.

What I'm asking: should I have purchased a separate move to create the barrier in the first place, or is having Area Shield Proficiency enough? I'll gladly purchase one once I have OM, and I haven't RP'd using it yet, so.

See omnifaq.php#Q19 Giving real stat boosts will require SP and a super move. I would drop the stat-buffing aspect and/or make it a separate thing.

As long as you paid for the two variant functions (600 OM) for that initial Move, it seems fine as is. You either create a barrier around yourself (from my understanding) [area shield], or you place it near a bad-guy then activate it and it explodes with light homing in on that person. You'd need Ranged, Ranged Materialize, Homing and Area Shield. You have all those, so you're good.

Nealaphh Wrote:Okee, let's try this again...

Mind Surge (Requires Telepathy, Ranged Proficiency) - 300 OM

Nealaphh's eyes flare brightly while this move is active, its normal green hues taking on a brilliant white gleam. It begins to flood the target's mind with overwhelming amounts of eldritch knowledge and information in such a volume that it can't be fully processed. This has the effect of causing the target to be stunned with overwhelming mental anguish as their brain tries to comprehend what it is taking in. Their vision will flash with images of impossible geometric shapes and nightmarish visions of distorted worlds and creatures. Their ears will be filled with a deafening, piercing roar, as if they were standing next to an immense waterfall. The goal of the move is to drive away attackers, and there needs to be mutual direct eye contact in order for any thoughts to be forced in, meaning that both Nealaphh and the target have to be able to see the other's eyes. As soon as eye contact it broken, the target is no longer affected. Nealaphh's brain can only maintain this flood of thoughts for roughly five seconds, and has to wait one full round before using the move again. In addition, Nealaphh can take no other actions while performing this move.

Once the move stops, the target does not retain any of the knowledge that Nealaphh showed them, save for a few hazy memories of terrifying shapes and sounds. If it is beneficial to the story, the target may be able to glean some forbidden knowledge, if they have a strong enough mind. While it does not inflict any serious, lasting damage, victims of Mind Surge are liable to have a considerable headache for an hour or two.

Okies! I'll hold it off for now then. I'll just fix a better definition for it from your notes instead of quick patches. Thanks.

Edit:
I'll make it seperate for better definition , splitting the objectform aspect and the bonus buff when wielding it which will cost SP for the buff to work. Working on it.

Welp. I figure it's about time I get a Super Move...

Tier 1 Super Move - Judgement Cut (requires Area Attack Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency, and Yamato) -800OM
 • Vergil steps back and sheathes his katana. He charges the attack for 5 seconds before quickly drawing and re-sheathing. The speed of the attack creates a 3-meter by 3-meter by 1-meter wall of dimensional slashes up to 15 meters away and can hit multiple people. It deals damage as if the defender were to be hit with Vergil's katana multiple times. At a glance it appears to be just a bunch of slashes in the air followed by a single, more powerful slash down the center. Cannot be used while moving. "Super" Judgement Cut.

It's basically just a re-iteration of my normal Judgement Cut, but it's Dante's version in DMC4, and Vergil's version in DmC: Devil May Cry (I think).

Phosphex Bolt Pistol (600 OM, requires Ranged, Debuff Proficiencies)
A rusted, battered, and ancient weapon, the bolt pistol is nonetheless extremely dangerous and durable. Due to its salvaged and corroded nature, it is only capable of a rate of fire of one round every three seconds, with a clip of six rounds. It fires modified bolt rounds, first created in the days of the great crusade, meant only for dire scenarios. Mortation's legion quickly embraced these weapons of last resort, arming their elites with ever-burning Phosphex, deadly rad weapons, and the invisible death of the Cullgene virus, leaving a trail of horrific death on every front of the Great Crusade. Okor has made good use of these weapons himself, paving a path for his brethren with the aid of the most twisted weaponry humanity has ever designed.

The rounds themselves explode shortly before contact with a surface (such as a wall, or an unfortunate target), spraying Phosphex over the poor soul. Phosphex manifests itself as a cloud of burning gel, which is propelled forward by momentum. Once it hits a surface, it remains in place for 5 seconds, introducing the target to a personal inferno. After 5 seconds has passed, Omnillium quenches the flames, saving the unlucky target from a slow and tortuous demise.

BFG 9000 (Tier 2 Super Move, Requires Ranged, Area of Effect, and Homing Proficiencies)- 1200 OM

The King of Cannons, the Doomsday Bazooka That Lays Waste to Everything, the weapon of choice for reducing a demonic invasion, or anything else, into a pile of gibs, The Big Fucking Gun 9000. Formally known as the Blast Field Generator, though never refereed to as by any marine ever, this marvel of technology is the crown of man portable devastation. The main weapon component is massive, roughly 2 and half feet long by a foot wide and 80 pounds, and the bracing arms attached to the user to allow the force of the weapon's recoil to be properly absorbed lest the recoil knock the user on their back and then crush their rib cage under its immensity.

It's comprised of three important parts: the plasma generator that fills with the weapon's trademark green plasma at the click of the trigger, the magnetic containment field that thrusts it out of weapon and holds it in a 4" diameter orb as it travels toward the targets, and the advanced computer core in the middle of each shot that directs the plasma blast around allies and hits the foes after the shot impacts, minimizing collateral damage. The initial hit can vaporize tanks and elite enemies, and the area of effect is immense, hitting enemies as far as eight feet from the center of the blast and still having the force to gib weaker humanoids.

This unleashed force is not without massive drawbacks however. The charge time is legendary, requiring at least 4 seconds for enough plasma to build up in the chamber before it can fire, and in this entire time must require LOS of his targets for the computer core to work. The initial hit does not have the same friend or foe targeting and will kill anything hit by it and cause considerable damage. Worse still, if the computer core is hit inside the orb by enemy fire or otherwise fails to travel far enough to make its calculations, then it will explode prematurely and indiscriminately lets loose the plasma, hitting everyone including the user in its blast radius.
