Music to write to

I find it easier most of the time to write with some music in the background to set the mood or just drown out background noise. Specifically, I have a preference for ambient/instrumental as words tend to distract me for some reason. Anyone have an favorites or general suggestions?

Also, feel free to post whatever artist(s)/genres/general music that motivates YOU to write so that others can have a listen!

With me, it's a bit mixed. Sometimes music helps spur my imagination and encourages me to write, while other times it's pretty much just a distraction.

That said, like yourself, I usually listen to instrumental songs (though not exclusively). This is very frequently video game music, since there is is plenty of good game music and nearly all of it is instrumental. However, I do also listen to regular music as well as anime/movie soundtracks.
