Do I or don't I? A question for the masses.

Anyone can give me your opinions.... In the upcoming Event, do I take the Artefact, or do I leave it behind?

It's a toss up. I mean its a risk losing it. But I'm not sure if Retane would take it off and leave it. I mean I know a few ways to do it, and in someways it may even seem right at that part in my storyline....

I'm not sure? Whats your opinions? Would you like to see The Horsemen walk into the Abyss with the risk of succmbing to the Abyss in an entirely different way?

On a nonspam related note, it is a SERIOUS advantage for you to have and could better your overall performance in the saga. It's kind of like going for a roundhouse instead of a boxing combo: high risk, high reward. You could gain more artefacts simply because you brought it, but also, you risk losing it all together. It's a tough call that only you can really make, mate.

Technically, the orgosynth isn't that big of a deal for me. Losing it or not. It's just a peice of writing material.It's technically a Tier 2 Power up for the price of a Tier 1.

Im more looking at the storyline value.... It's a hard choice that way....

For those that don't know what my Artefact does, its in my roster, it cost 1 Sp to use and gives you +2 to each stat. The sonsequence is the staff rolls 1-20 Randomly. If it ever rolls 1. it possess you and you have to do what the staff tell you.

Each time you win the roll, the next activation roll is one less.

Actually... thinking back on this I would highly advise you to use the artefact. I mean, it is only a temporary gain in the fist place as it will, sooner or later, try to kill you. So, being that it is only a limited time benefit for you, what better time could you use more odds in your favor than in DA?

In my opinion, it entirely depends on whether or not your character has regained any of his memories regarding his previous life, especially in relation to DA. Your character is one of the few to come from the same universe that DA originates from, so Retane has an actual history with the event, which would no doubt influence his decision.

If he hasn't recovered any of his memories, then he might assess the situation with a clear mind and could potentially regard the artefact as too valuable/volatile to be used in an event like DA. If, however, he HAS regained his memories, then he very well might be eager/desperate enough to win to take it with him.

He's had flashbacks small ones of Tapion. Most of them were the first meeting with Jack and getting the Malefactor... All but 1 involved the 2007 DA in some form or fashion>_>

Hmmm, while I can see that as a good reason to join DA, I wouldn't consider it as a particularly strong motivation for Retane to go to any lengths to win.

I guess then it pretty much comes down to how willing is he to throw all caution to the wind.

I've read some of it, but since I've had so much trouble with keeping up with just the stuff I have to do, reading hasn't been my highest priority. So you'll have to forgive me that I'm not very familiar with your current storyline.

Then, if that is already his mindset, he could very well be determined to win DA at all costs. And if that's the case, then using the artefact seems like a no-brainer. Plus, what Sasuke said is true; the Orgosynth only has a limited number of uses and has a chance to backfire. If there was any environment where you could use it with relatively few repercussions if you failed your roll, it would be DA.

My opinion is simple: What's the point of even having the artefact if you don't pull it out during big events? Sure you run the risk of losing it, but it gives you an advantage. If you're certain you'll prevail, go for it.

If you are trying to play it safe, don't bring it.

But if you do bring it you will have a significant advantage. Not to mention you can always steal it back. You could even win a better artifact because you ended up bringing it.

I like the idea of bringing it because you might have more fun in the competition, as well as add a surprise variable to DA. It's not as fun to hold back in a fight but there will be those who try and steal it from you. It's a great challenge and its a nice incentive to not loose the competition and also have Retane himself grow stronger.
