Switching character
#1
CHARACTER NAME: Todd Ingram

CHARACTER SOURCE: Scott Pilgrim vs the world

CHARACTER HISTORY:
There isn’t too much of a backstory, i will be taking both comic and movie adaptation, seeing as they are very similar. i’ve added both stories here.

Todd started to date Ramona during high school, but he disappeared during that time. He began a rigid vegan diet and gained psychic powers, then came back and took Ramona out of class to show her how big his love was by blasting a crater on the moon. However, Todd was forced to attend a vegan college and Ramona had to go to another one, so they decided to quit their relationship. Sometime later, he met Scott Pilgrim's ex-girlfriend Envy Adams and began dating her, soon becoming the bass player for her band called "The Clash at Demonhead". However, he also started to secretly cheat on Envy with the band's drummer Lynette Guycott.

In the comics, he meets Scott when he and the Sex Bob-omb attend a show of the Clash at Demonhead and Envy calls them into the backstage area. His grudge with Envy causes him to attack Todd, who uses his powers to throw him into an alley, but the lateness of the hour has Envy calling the fight off till the next day. They meet again at a store called "Honest Ed's" where Envy sets a race between both, with Todd forbidden to use his powers. However, the shop's frantic nature causes Todd to accidentally implode the place, causing Envy to cancel the fight. One day later, they are having dinner at a restaurant when Todd orders a gelato as dessert, all of them unaware that it's actually made of eggs and milk. Later, at another club they were to perform, Envy finally discovers his cheating when he leaves a restroom with Lynette's panties on his head during Envy's fight with Ramona. She knees him in the groin and leaves in disgust, but the fight resumes when Scott, aided by the band "Crash and the Boys" (renamed "The Boys!! and Crash!"), attacks him with everything they have, but even the Boys aren't enough to defeat him. Luckily the Vegan Police shows up and takes Todd's powers away due to his infractions (eating the gelato and a chicken parmesan), allowing Scott to give him a final headbutt, causing Todd to blow up in coins and an extra life.

In the movie, the fight at the backstage area is the only battle they make. There is no "Crash and the Boys" to help Scott (as they were incinerated by Matthew Patel), and it's also Todd who punches Knives Chau's highlights out of her hair instead of Lynette. Also, his infidelity with Envy never happened. He merely throws Scott away like a ragdoll with his powers, and even beats him in a bass battle. However, when Scott is thrown into a coffee machine, he tricks Todd into drinking a half and half cup with average milk instead of soy milk by thinking hard into pouring the milk in another one. This causes the Vegan Police to crash into the scene and hold Todd into "gunpoint". When he asks about his "three strikes", they point out the gelato and the chicken parmesan and then finally took his powers out, allowing Scott to headbutt him and causing him to blow up in 3000 points and coins, much to Envy's grief.

Todd spawns in OV before his show started with clash of demonhead. ( seeing as it changed his personality after he respawned at his place)
His beloved Bass guitar, the main weapon of any vegan rockstar.
He's the official bassman for Clash at the Demonhead, and he's a much better player than Scott. He's able to combine his musical talent with his Vegan power to produce powerful shockwaves with great destructive power.

Flavour: When Todd has his precious bass guitar in hand a wind is send out around him, with him at the centre. This does not damage or negatively affect others in any way. Maybe their hair moves in the wind?

With each string, each note Todd strikes the letter of the note physically manifests, emerging from that string. It’s only 2cm tall when it takes form but grows as it’s send out. In a few feet the letter grows to its final size (20cm). Each note has a different effect (which will be added and purchased along the way. If the note is not in the following list, they are harmless and RP fluff). The size of each letter remains the same, it’s area of effect does not reach beyond the cone of effect. Maximum range is 20 meters, width of effect 5 meters. Anything beyond the cone, the music is heard but the attack is ineffective. The letters move at a speed of an arrow
( i seem to be unable to link it here but....follow the link for an example: https://media.giphy.com/media/OIrIKLfUINw08/giphy.gif )

D-Note: Every D note struck sends a strong wave of wind in the direction the guitar is facing. Subjects caught in the D note will have trouble moving against the strong wind. The higher their spd, the easier they are able to move. Though, like a strong wind, they will be affected, reaction time will be sluggish. High wind will make it more difficult for ranged attack to hit, windfactor and all that. ( SPD counters this move, the higher the SPD the easier it is to move.) The wind itself does not damage the opponent.
D-note can be played continuously as it only forms an inconvenience. Playing these notes does drain his stamina. Depending on how many "special notes" he plays determin how fast his fatigue runs out. He then will be able to play the bass but he wont be able to combine his vegan powers with it.

A-Note: A solid brick A appears ( characters are able to tell the difference ), send flying towards it’s target. If it hit’s a target, it’s like getting smacked in the face with a brick. Just a solid letter flying towards your face with the power of veganism. ( Standard ATK vs DEF )
A-note is an actual attack and like a gun, he is able to shoot six of them rapidly before his vegan power needs to recharge (reload). If he shoots thrm at a slower pase....say once every 10 seconds, he does not need to charge his vegan powers.

To avoid confusion….A GUITAR IS NOT A MELEE WEAPON. xD

Vegan protection shield ( 300 OM )

Todd uses his vegan powers to stop an incoming attack, aiming his light emitting hand at an incoming punch or projectile, catching it with the vegan energy. By pointing his open palm towards the attack or incoming projectile he wishes to defend against the densely clustered force energy around his hands can halt or divert melee and ranged attacks. The shield is active in a 6 inch radius around his hand, so it has to be well aimed. The hand he uses to catch or deflect is unable to be used for anything else, as it requires great focus. The shield can only take one hit before the ambient force dissipates and needs to be re-summoned, which forces Todd to recoil his arm and push forward with an open palm once again. While melee attacks can be abruptly stopped just short of his chosen hand, caught in the suspended force energy, ranged projectiles and attacks are diverted away. It can be used in relatively quick succession allowing him to block multiple attacks in a row, but requires a moderate amount of concentration and energy. Extended use would drain Todd's stamina rather fast if all he did was defend in a hand to hand fight.

Note crash ( 300 OM Area of attack proficiency)

Todd strikes all notes in one big slam, sending a devastating shockwave with him at the center. Everyone within 8 meters of him will be blown back. How far depends on their DEF stat. ( classic ATK vs DEF ) Its a draining move, leaving Todd tired for a bit. He won’t be able to perform this attack twice in a row.  When ATK and DEF are the same amount the targets get knocked back around 6 meters.

The narrator ( Fluff RP move 0 OM, ranged materialize )

A narrator sometimes talks or shows physical sentences near Todd to provide intel. Todd himself can’t see or hear this. The reader and other characters can. This can in no way affect a character in a negative way, its for story purposes only. ( 4th walling / Meta gaming NOT ALLOWED!!! )

HAhaha. Amazing character choice, Kanda-dude. Hopefully, you can stick with this one for long enough for him to shine. Anyway, I've got a few comments for your moves.

Red Fender Mustang Bass:
>As you can't use the actual guitar for anything (like hit people with it), this would only cost 600 OM (300 OM for each variant). We don't make you pay 300 OM for a gun, and then another 300 OM for having bullets for it.
>D-Note: I'd say the degree at which someone is pushed back would actually be your ATK vs their DEF. Fast but light birds can really struggle to fly against winds that us slower humans can more happily jog against, if you wanted a brief justification. SPD might help someone run towards you, but it won't let them resist the actual wind.
>Can you clarify roughly how fast he plays the notes? Like, "about 1 every X seconds" or "about X every second". The move description is unclear whether you're spamming out loads, or doing one every few seconds.
>Why does this need area defense, debuff, or ranged materialise?
>I can't see any "shielding" aspect of your move.
>Pushing someone back is not a debuff. It's just a push.
>The letters appear within 5ft of the guitar, so this doesn't need ranged materialise.

Vegan protection shield:
>If you want to magically pick someone up or do anything more than just halt/block/knock an attack away, like in the gif you provided, that will need telekinesis.
>Otherwise, if you're just halting attacks, that will need physical attack (but telekinesis is acceptable instead).
>Can you elaborate on what you mean by deflect? The description is unclear about what actually happens after he stops an attack. Does he toss it to the side?
>This will need a fatigue cost as a drawback, otherwise stronger attacks will break through.
>Trixie has a similar move, which may be useful if you wish to compare. It needs physical attack but no other profs/powers:

Quote:Close Quarters Shielding:

Close Quarters Shielding or CQS is an ability that Trixie developed in the Underverse to counter and deflect attacks in the absence of her light-saber. Using her thorough and extensive knowledge of the force Trixie can generate a small invisible barrier that coalesces around her hands. By pointing her open palm towards the attack or incoming projectile she wishes to defend against the densely clustered force energy around her hands can halt or divert melee and ranged attacks. The shield can only take one hit before the ambient force dissipates and needs to be re-summoned, which forces Trixie to recoil her arm and push forward with an open palm once again. While melee attacks can be abruptly stopped just short of her chosen hand, caught in the suspended force energy, ranged projectiles and attacks are disintegrated or diverted away. It can be used in relatively quick succession allowing her to block multiple attacks in a row, but requires a moderate amount of concentration and energy. Extended use would drain Trixie’s stamina rather fast if all she did was defend in a hand to hand fight.

Note Crash:
>Be a bit more specific. How far would someone be blown back - roughly - if their DEF is equal to your ATK?

The narrator:
>As long as you don't reveal something about another character that Todd shouldn't know (without OOC permission), you'll be good here. So, as an example, if Todd met Ash, you couldn't have the text say "real name: Emma Shutter". And so on. Unless the character's writer gives permission. (Even if Todd himself can't see the Narrator stuff)

~Changing cost from 900 to 600

~Basically the same move. will re-word it.

~ On equal terms i'd say 6 meters.

~obviously, no 4th walling or meta gaming.

All changes will be done once i am behind a computer.
