OmniCon Accommodations Poll
#1
Hey all,

OmniCon 2018 is a go now that we have eight more or less confirmed attendees.  Since everyone who has confirmed thus far is from the northeast or the rust belt, we're looking into renting a place further north into Pennsylvania, rather than the West Virginia location we were considering originally.  That being said, I have lots of options for you guys to check out and vote on.

Please do not vote unless you are attending or hoping to attend.

Review the options below.  All places can comfortably sleep at least 10-12 people.

Option 1: $746 total (nice place, decent location)

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14533683?lo...s=HdCnOQAD

Option 2: $444 total (super cheap, but not the nicest place)

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24305894?lo...s=R6O8BgIQ

Option 3: $392 total (also super cheap, also not the nicest place)

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/13345863?lo...s=rzfRyQNt

Option 4: $654 total (larger and nicer place, situated closer to NYC and further from Columbus/Illinois area)

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16259265?lo...s=rzfRyQNt

Option 5: $654 total (nice place, but it's a townhome so I'm not sure if volume would be an issue, close to attractions)

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8844565?loc...s=rzfRyQNt

Option 6: $715 total (duplex in South Philly, lots of room and lots of stuff to do in the city, but a long drive for people coming from the west)

I'm still looking, but we'll have to book soon so let me know what you think so far.

Also use this thread to discuss stuff you'd like to do for OmniCon and what kind of place you're looking for (city vs country, hiking vs night life, etc)

I voted for 1. Staying as far away from Philly as I can would be preferable as well.

Yeah, I included the Philly option just because it's a good price in a big city.  I didn't look too extensively in the Pittsburgh area.

In general I'd prefer something more secluded with some good old fashioned nature shit to run around in.

1 looks perfect to me. I'm also looking for something more wilderness-y.

My only concern with 1 is there's only six actual beds (+2 couches).  If all our "maybes" end up wanting to attend we'll be short on space, whereas 4 has nine beds and can sleep 16+ comfortably.  Also 4 costs less money and has pool and ping-pong tables.

I honestly wouldn't say no to any of these really, and I can bring a sleeping bag and volunteer to take the floor if it comes to it.

I'm almost certainly going to book #4. It's the best price to size ratio and has some neat amenities.
