OmniCon RSVP
#1
OmniCon 2018

See Trixie's discussion thread here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=10096

This post is only for official RSVPs, not discussion.  I want to keep a clean head count without sorting through dozens of posts.

DISCLAIMER: Alcohol will be present at the event.  For anyone under 21, you're still welcome to join but no underage drinking will be allowed or encouraged on my watch.

Current Attendees: Whirda, Trixie, Strazio, Drake, Mark, Wyatt, Sam

Pending Attendees: Alex, Spur, Yu Kanda, Deadpool, Handsome Jack*, Blink, Gamzee, ElFailzalot*

*Most likely not attending, but we can hope!

Right now, my proposal is this:

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7140189?loc...2018-08-26

or

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14533683?lo...2018-08-26

Note: As of right now we don't have anyone confirmed coming from the south, so we might try to move things further north into PA.

Dates of AUGUST 24th - 26th are now CONFIRMED.

Now, for price:

Price: ~$600-700 for 2 nights, split between attendees.  I would estimate total price for lodging to be between $75 and $100 each.

We will decide whether everyone should bring food and drink or we should do a big group shop when we arrive.

Anything less than 8 people we would look at a smaller/cheaper place.

Please reply only if you are interested in attending, and include your state or country of residence.  So far we have heard mostly from northeast(ish) USA folks, so we've planned location around that but it's subject to change.

If you feel like you can't afford the trip, I know I'll be setting up a carpool from Connecticut and Trixie will most likely be willing to do one from Ohio.  We're also willing to help with some/all of the cost for those who otherwise couldn't attend.

Let me know!

I'm going and I live in Illinois. I'd be willing to run a carpool since W. Virginia ain't that far.

Interested. It's out far enough where I can get the time off from work. Like Whirda said, I can assist with some cost if it comes down to it.

Travel expense is always my biggest concern, so if there's a CT carpool, I am totes down. I can't cover for anyone else, but I can bring lots of ingredients for cooking.

*flips hair*

I'm kind of a baller cook.

I basically only drink water and alcohol/soda is something I can't budget in.

If all else fails, I can go foraging. Can get sum decent crawpappies in WV

Pretty sure I'll be able to organize a carpool up here.  If Yu Kanda is flying in we already have three people in the area.

I'm a tentative yes, but i can't fully commit for at least another month. Just don't factor me into the house decision unless we start to get on the upper end of occupancy

I am interested but unsure how it would go?

As far as I know, the closest to Colorado who's organizing a carpool would be Strazio in Illinois.  Not sure if you have the means for a flight but it would be a short hop to Chicago area or Columbus to catch a ride with Strazio or Trixie.  It's also usually dirt cheap to fly to JFK or LaGuardia from anywhere, so if you can make it there you can ride with me, Drake, and possibly Yu Kanda.

If Sam flies to Columbus she can help me kidnap Wyatt.

At that point I might just fly to Columbus.

LOL though

Also depending on school I might request it to be a week before but I'm planning on making it happen??? I also have the means for a flight, I'm next to an international airport which always offer significantly cheaper flights than regular ones

Roger that.  You'll get a cheaper flight the sooner you buy, obviously.  Check Chicago O'Hare, Columbus, and JFK/LaGuardia, flying in the 24th of August and leaving the 26th (night time, like 8pm or later)/27th (anytime).  If JFK/LGA end up being the best price I'd be able to pick you up about 3pm on the 24th.  Whatever you decide I'll coordinate your carpool stuff.

Edit: If Chicago or Columbus, shoot for the earliest flight possible 'cause Strazio especially has a super long ride from Illinois.  My drive is about 6-6.5 hours and Trixie's is shorter.

Is the date for sure?

Yes!

Put me down as a yes. I'm coming from NH so I'm strongly considering flying closer instead of the 12 hour drive I'd have to endure.

So is this is a thing? Is the place booked? Should I request the time off work now?

I have a Jeep Patriot. So I can comfortably seat 4 and there is plenty of room for luggage in the back. It's a semi luxury SUV. I think it's a turd, but meh. If you're flying into Columbus and that's your official plan I'll give you my cell # so we can coordinate. I can get you from the airport easily and it's only like 3 hours to Pittsburgh to grab Wyatt. From there we're extremely close to WV. My ex was in Johnstown PA so I had to pass Pitt every time I went and that was a 4 hour drive. If you're not comfortable driving that's fine. However I don't care if you offer. I'm not finicky about who drives my car. Shit. Run it off the road. I don't care.
