Up front Disclaimer: Don't take this thread seriously, guys :derp: The calculations below were made purely based on what little we know about Diablo and what the Omniverse's rules are, and without consulting Greg or Alex for the rest. A lot of data is based on conjecture and may be false.
Diablo doesn't stand a chance if this formula is correct... HAHAHA IT WORKED! I HAVE DISCOVERED THE RECIPE FOR DIET COKE!
[Intro music n stuff]
HELLO PRIMES, WELCOME TO OMNIVERSE THEORY!
Had to do it, I've been binging too much Game Theory/Film Theory as of late. But let's get serious (well, as serious as this thread can get anyway)
How strong would Diablo be if we went by Omniverse logic? If he was a player, that is, who’s bound by the same rules as we are, and wasn’t made strong from the start.
The answer may actually surprise you... but, let's dip into the calculations!
Diablo as we know him is supposedly the strongest Prime there is in the entire Omniverse, able to let people out of the Underverse (which we presume is because he can open portals, an ability that is noted in the rules but has no numbers associated with it but supposedly is very high) and reigning supreme over the largest verse of the Omniverse as its sole ruler, with a number of Primes under his command. He's brutal, alright. But how much OM would he have?
Let’s assume that Diablo is consistently a solo writer with excellent writing, thus he has earned exemplary writing bonuses for each of his threads. I mean seriously, this guy is the most powerful Prime as far as we know, his writing must be amazing. He is backed by a strong faction but their contributions to his Ascendancy are negligible. Also, he writes solo because he wants to write at his own pace or something. Alternatively you can assume that his participation bonuses for writing with others have perfectly balanced out with his slower writing pace during those times.
Now, we don’t know when Diablo arrived in the Omniverse. As a rule of thumb, Primes with more time spent in the Omniverse tend to be stronger, but for players this doesn’t necessarily hold true: it depends on how active they are. It’s possible that he was one of the first beings created (in Year 0) or that he arrived at the same time or even after Aragorn and Palpatine (Year 1). However, going by rules logic he can’t have arrived any later than Year 2: it takes “several months” to gain Recognition and then as long again for Ascendancy, so Diablo couldn’t have power-written his way through to being the grand ruler for the Underverse in a few days - but in year 3 he invaded the Pale Moors, at which point his name was widely known, so we have to assume that he already had Ascendancy at this point. Let’s say it took him 1 year because that fits perfectly with the RP calculations (you'll see later).
Ever since he’s arrival Diablo has been averaging in at the same amount of words per day, up until year 13. So he’s been writing for 10 years and 3 months at this point. Quite the head start compared to the rest of us.
-Because I’m lazy let’s calculate as if Rest Points have always been there (as opposed to Fortnightlies, but they kind of gave the same amount of OM anyway). As a dedicated writer he has never let a single RP go to waste, so every day he’s picked up 20 extra OM from his RP. After gaining Recognition after 6 months this increased to 25 RP and after another 6 months he had 30 RP with Ascendancy.
-Let’s say for calculus’ sake that 10 words = 1 OM before doubling by Rest Points and such.
-Diablo is a cool supporter of the Omniverse so he votes daily, every month, for an extra 300 OM.
-He’s also got a bunch of friends from his weekly D&D group which he’s convinced to come join him. They’ve made one character each: Andarial, Durial, Azmodan, Belial, Mari Lywd, Captain Davy Jones, Scylla and Immortan Joe. That’s a whopping 8 x 300 OM of referral bonuses, for a total of 2.400 OM.
-In regards to the initial 300 RP: Diablo’s character was approved a few hours before the point in time where the site gives all accounts their 20/25/30 daily RP. Diablo had a 3000 words post pre-written so he used up all his RP instantly, then when he got his daily RP he wrote another 300 word post to use those up too.
So, to recap:
Static Bonuses: (Bonuses that are counted just once)
-2.400 OM from Referral Bonuses.
-500 OM from Recognition + 1000 OM from Ascendancy (both Underverse)
-300 OM from initial RP.
-300 OM from his 3000 words initial post (before he earns the 20 RP of his first day).
Other Bonuses:
-300 OM per month for voting.
-20 RP per day for 6 months => 25 RP per day for 6 months => 30 RP per day thereafter.
-His OM gained (after RP calculation) is doubled for Exemplary bonuses.
It took Diablo 332 days to write those 100.000 words necessary gain Ascendancy by writing about 300 words per day (the remaining 35 days was the time it took for staffers to decide that Recognition, then Ascendancy, was in order – 17 and 18 days respectively).
-156 days of Recognition writing
-17 days during which he was writing other stuff (let's say as some random secondary)
-156 days of Ascendancy writing
-18 days during which he was writing other stuff
So after exactly one year Diablo has Ascendancy. He writes 300 words per day every day. That’s not all that much actually… well okay, 300 words of exemplary writing every day. But you see how it balances perfectly with his RP after getting Ascendancy? That's why I said 1 year.
Calculations:
RP: (156 + 17)*20 + (156 + 18)*25 + (3650 + 90)*30 = 3.460 + 4.350 + 112.200 = 120.010
OM w. exemplary bonus: (156 + 17 + 156 + 18 + 3650 + 90 = 4087)*30*2 = 122.610*2 = 245.220
Voting OM: (11y*12m)*300 = 39.600
Static Bonuses: 2400 + 500 + 1000 + 300 + 300 = 4.500
Total: 409.300 OM.
Which would put Diablo at level 18, heading for level 19. Not all that implausible! (or maybe Greg calculated this himself :woah: )
What do you think, would this all be correct? Did I make an error somewhere?
