Toying with Time

The preparations had been made! Yet somehow, Caira ended up at the same Nexus gate that she had entered Camelot. She had since returned, ridden on horseback, past Minas Tirith after sending a little bird to carry a message to his home. Yes, so that his family might know what happened to him, and that the ranks would provide suit.

She was going to summon a Pegasus when she spotted Dalaran but now it seemed she had overshot her destination.Tch, how do you miss a giant floating island? She pulled out the carefully folded and bloodstained map, one that had been found in his journal's first flap, and straightened it out against the ground. She had been in Camelot near three days and had barely seen a thing! How frustrating.

Still, the girl with waves of black hair and the strangely contrasting attire of a black cloak and a single white gauntlet on her right arm; her glowing eyes weighed with an expression that looked ragged and tired yet somehow more alive than ever as she leaned forward over the map. Her eyes trailed the crimson corners, Don't look at the blood! You don't want to think about that! she now remembered, how she had missed Dalaran.

Caira held out her hand and imagined sunglasses, yes, because those would help her change the world. But they appeared and morphed at her fingertips with the glowing tool, Omlinium. She held them in her hands for a moment, hopefully I won't have to hide, she thought and referred to her past moments, where soldiers might come upon her and pursue her if she were spotted, because of her association with General List's death.

The corners of her mouth turned upward and into a smile, "At this rate, I'll never get there." She mused and then heard a rustling in the bushes behind her, she swiftly turned, at the ready for any disastrously striking force to be aimed at her.

Through the portal, a figure appeared. Wearing her backpack with arms off the sides that didn't hold anything at the moment as usual, Toybox Girl rode in on a powered scooter. While she certainly didn't match a Camelot theme, there were no doubt a lot of things around here that didn't quite match up with the looks of the area. Toybox Girl stopped for a moment and surveyed her surroundings. This brought some disappointment and anger as her systems were not up to snuff with evaluating much of anything and it would be some time before her systems could repair themselves and unlikely to find C.S.-tan in this Omniverse place. She was the only one that would really understand or could be trusted to tinker with the ADAPT system.

Some various things could be seen in the distance, so she picked a direction towards something interesting, a tower in the distance, and moved towards it. It wasn't on the path though, so she soon went off road with her scooter. It seemed to be doing fine for a bit, until she had to go through bushes. She crashed through the bush and fell out the other side, the scooter's little motor still working hard and the wheels spinning as she was sprawled out on the ground. "Oww.." The arms on her backpack pushed out and helped her get back upright, only to see that she had inadvertently approached someone. She had purple eyes and was a little taller than Toybox Girl was, maybe she knew something about this place, but her stance spoke of defense. "Ah, hello..?"

Toying with time

Caira's muscles were tense, at the ready and repulsed suddenly by an unforeseen force causing her to move out of the way, (sensory basic) dodging as suddenly whatever approached came through the bushes! Her cat-like instincts were speedy, but her body moved a fraction of a second slower than it was used to, her dexterity limited by the unfamiliar weight of the gravity in the Omniverse. She cursed to herself, resentment still residing under her tongue and it was evident she was keen to having the advantage of speed when moving.

Her eyes still, traced the movement, cat-like and glowing with perception. As the scene unfolded before her eyes, she saw the tumbling of a person! It appeared they had fallen from their mounted mechanism! The mechanism, a scooter, but something Caira would categorize as a wagon, had rolled over her map in its disarray, and the wipe out perpetuated with the spinning of the small wheels on the vehicle.

Caira's horse had stirred some, but trotted back to her side a moment after the excitement occurred. Caira herself stood and greeted the newcomer, with a regarding posture. The person-whom had fallen and picked themselves up in one fell swoop! She analyzed the technology of the mechanism and it appeared to be after her time of advancement, she almost marveled, but was brought to her senses as the weight and smooth sensation of sunglasses reminded her of an obligation: to remain hidden. She quickly placed them over her still gleaming eyes, so that the light they emitted would be dimmed and she might remain anonymous. The fact that they glowed was still unnatural to the places she had seen in this Verse and her last.

Lastly Caira's ears were reached with the greeting of a fragile hello, she looked over not expecting to see such a small kid match up with the image of the blurred figure that had crash landed- that same girl appeared to be vibrant with a quality she couldn't quite place. "Ah! Hello! Caira realized she might have kept her waiting, and a wave of serenity quelled her tense- but still attentively prepared- muscles. "Are you alright, traveler?" She asserted her attention to any damage done and had approached wirh categorizing her as a traveler, not wanting to demean the girl's personage by classifying her by her age, as Caira herself was only eighteen of old.

Caira slowly approached a little closer, somewhat curiously inspecting the girl, strawberry pink hair, and pondered it's lovely shade as she leaned over to pick up her slightly crumpled map. Not necessarily keeping turning her attention away as she faced the ground. As her posture straightened again, her smile that greeted wordlessly, No harm done here and used her dense grip to straighten the wrinkled paper flawlessly and displayed the paper, better and smoother than before, that is- before it was quite evident there was blood on the map.

Caira noticed a little too late, and by that point there was no hiding it, her immediate thoughts to reassure the girl were Don't worry, it's not mine and realized that wouldn't be adequate to fit this situation either.

Toybox Girl's eyes took in everything as an annoying process went in the background noise of her mind telling her all sorts of errors with the radar system. She hadn't detected someone else nearby, her target didn't register, all expected in light of the fact that the system didn't work. She'd have to deal with some of these errors later so that they don't keep using up processing power. It might be crucial in a high risk fight.

She had picked up a glimpse of the person's face as she'd crashed and already knew about the glowing eyes she was trying to conceal with glasses. Something which phased Toybox Girl less than seeing a manimo floating about here so the note was quickly stored away before sshe made a thought about it. More importantly were the horse and carriage and the map that the girl had. The vehicle was drawn by a horse, an idea that in modern times at the Ark was only referenced by centaur based robots like Lazflamme.

The map on the other hand, described an area completely unfamiliar to TBG. It made TBG consider for a moment that she might be a treasure hunter of sorts. The blood on it though, was not a big detail. Toybox Girl wasn't entirely unfamiliar with organics and bleeding, but she lived in a sometimes difficult world where conflict came easily. The enemy was always poking at planetary defenses on top of the wild robots roaming outside cities.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit of a mess, I shouldn't have tried going offroad with this." TBG righted the scooter and started to dematerialize it back into Omnilium that it was made from. "I'm Toybox Girl Adapt, most just call me TBG. I'm new to the Omniverse, a Cosmic Hero from the Cosmic Ark. Can you tell me about this verse?"

The steed ambled freely over to the disintegrating scooter, not heeded by any weight other than the mount over its back. Caira's hand reached for the stirrups to remind the inquisitive horse of its respective duties with the slight pull of creased leather. On her knuckles she felt the warmth of the horse's caressing breath.

Caira's head was inclined, showing an amiable lightness to the young girl whom had crash landed near her, however the woman's body stood stoically, and while not exuding any hostility there were traces of the walling built for the sole method of defense. Skeptically, she dared not touch the device that the girl had mentioned, and promoted as a form of transport. She felt a slight undulation of intrigue, as the scooter faded from her sight and seemingly disintegrated. Caira's expression exuded curiosity, to the unrecognizable device that was TBG's scooter.

This was undeniably, a threatening place, as Caira had learned first hand, its inhabitants included. And notably the girl had mechanics built around her body, like a strange sort of armor, that the purple eyed woman did not recognize as an extent of technology or advanced Cybergenecs. Caira half gasped at the distinction, Another Prime! but the girl had asked a question, and from it, Caira ratiocinated that they were both in the same boat. Captured by Omni, herself slightly addlepated, both ensnared in his trap- this world.

"Pleasure to meet you, TBG," and though Caira found the abbreviation strangely light on her tongue, she reasoned that many worlds converged into this one, and so many names would grow to be more esoteric than ever before. TBG mentioned her home, the announcement and familiarity did not register past Caira's keen ears, and her bewilderment remained evident. "As I have come to learn," the undertone of her voice was that of one with an unmistakable solemnity, "This is Camelot."

The visage that veiled Caira's expression was one that alluded to an invariable contumely, its origin: this place. And she glanced at the map, to signify that she, in a way, held Camelot in her hands.

Caira had greeted the girl, whom asked for information, and indecisively her thoughts went to the small crumbs of knowledge that were listed in the book. She would begin with the basics, "Well, this Kingdom, Camelot, is a part of the Omniverse. These places are accessible from Portals of the Nexus- or the white room you may have arrived in. And though I haven't been here for long," Caira was cautious to not disclose the specific amount of time she had spent there, "It seems Camelot has a rival verse called the Empire. And Camelot undergoes strife because of the battle for ascendancy and prosperity in the Omniverse. A battle which the Empire is prevailing." Caira explicated this verse by comparing and contrasting another, much could be told of the interwoven mechanisms in a system when put alongside another with exceedingly different priorities.

To offer additional insight, Caira mentioned, "I currently am heading for Dalaran, a place of wizardry, and apparently you get there by Pegasi." She smiled a bit, much could be told of a place by its tools. The creatures of mysticism were in her culture, to some extent, but now she would use Omnilium and imagination to summon such a regarded beast.

"Though I don't think I could simply summon wings on this horse, because it then wouldn't know how to fly." Caira chuckled a bit, and pondered the loophole. It would be dangerous if she crashed in the air. Though there was only one thing to clash into aside from the clouds. An island that would hopefully not prove to be her cairn.

The sunglasses that framed her face weighed on her nose, her reflective eyes distinctly illuminated through the provided shade, fixed on the bubble that appeared before her as she focused on identifying attributing characteristics of a Pegasus. As Caira summoned the beast with the idea of wending to Dalaran in the near future, it formed into a slimsy silhouette before, with some time, solidifying into a distinct solid figure of a Pegusus. The existence of the creature adduced at least some of what Caira had said was true, and the excellence of Omnilium's final form grew more opulent as she looked at the majestic creature in awe.

Toybox Girl's knolwedge from the Dataverse sided along with what Caira spoke of. "I understand they are quite at odds with eachother." But the Dataverse went the entire gamut from the two being just friendly neighbors to being on the bring of war so the information there couldn't be reliably used to determine the actual relations between the two factions. There was also some propaganda on both of them. The empire were a bunch of evil people making genetic abominations and mutants, Camelot was a bunch of arrogent bigots that attacked anyone that didn't agree with them.. you couldn't trust the internet at face value.

Toybox Girl traced out something in mind to summon as a flying mount as well. She would prefer summoning a vehicle to carry her and not some fantastic creature. So she focused and began to materialize a flying platform. But what she got was a flying magic carpet, in the latest of Dalaran fashion. "I guess I really can't summon technological vehicles here." Toybox Girl realized she was already talking about more than she should know for being someone brand new here. "Oh ah, as a robot I have communications built-in to me. I can search the Dataverse for information. Its prevalent even here, in this non-technological place." Toybox Girl made a wide gesture to the air. "I could use some work since I just got here so going to a city matches." Toybox Girl hesitated as she thought of the suggestion. She was wary of making new friends in potentially dangerous situations. She had no idea how strong Caira was or if she was reliable in combat and didn't want to responsible for her getting hurt. "If you don't mind, we could travel together to the city."

Spellbound, her eyes fell on the massive beast, not just a horse with wings, but a glowing white Pegasus. His posture was boisterously aligned and demonstrated competency. Caira moved the saddle from the horse to the Pegasus, and pondered what to do with the horse, while asserting her attention on TBG.

Caira listened intently to what the girl had to say, any knowledge would be beneficial in this new world.

"Really? I wonder what sort of work they have here?" Caira asked and the questions flowed from her lips, curiosity overtook her words. "If you wouldn't mind entertaining my whims, I have to conjure up something else before we go, I don't know when the next time will be I will be able to eat, I've never been to this city, and know nothing of any threat that might arise, I should prefer to be in my prime." Yes, Caira hadn't eaten for two days, of course this was only natural for someone of her race, but time flowed differently here, and now, after not eating, she was feeling voracious and fatigued after stravaging the Kingdom.

She wondered if the food she would conjure was as balanced as skill or strength here was- as she had learned from the book upon her arrival. And what type of world TBG had come from to be known to have built in robotics as she put some effort into her sustenance as it began to take shape.

"Tell me," Caira inclined, forfeiting some right later, where if a reciprocated question would be asked later she would be obliged to answer truthfully, "Does the term robot refer to your species?" Caira had never encountered such a 'species' though she recognized the word vaguely as an advancement in time, but of course, not the the version of it she knew.

Of course Caira knew vaguely of the world of technology, but nothing as extensive as someone whom was physically a part of its direct evolution.

"Can you look up what the Dataverse have to say about finding Omni?" Caira had yet to encounter the vague existence of technology and its reaches.

Caira summoned herself some food, in her hand, the glowing bubble of Omnilium quickly warped brightly, so brimming with light that one not used to it, might need to look away. Caira held it, customarily, and a star began to form in her hand, it was miniature but emitted an immense wave of heat. Her eyes fell on the fervid sustenance for a moment, the food from her homeland had once provided her with days of nourishment. She frowned, and remembered that in Camelot, when she had dined previously, it was not custom to eat a star as a delicacy. She shrugged and placed the hovering light in her mouth, the pomaceous aroma was sweet and delicate as it melted like a snowflake on her tongue and rolled to the back of her mouth.

The monks always gained sustenance from this method, because it did not harvest upon any ecosystems of plants or animals, contrary to the Core which had been dependent on various forms of advanced agriculture. The most intriguing thing about the food was the way to "catch" a star, a secret that would die with them, because in normal circumstances stars were colossal too fiery to eat and maintained themselves at a fixed distance. And now Caira could just summon them, it wasn't as enjoyable or fulfilling, and she would eventually have to recreate the same circumstances here, if she were to remain in the Omniverse until the end of time. Earning a prize sometimes made its rewards much more fulfilling, in this case, it would reaffirm her nostalgia.

But it was perhaps because of the unique method of attainment that they were the most sought after fruit in the galaxy. She smiled, because the secret was all hers, and the only thing she had left of that world were her memories of it. Perhaps, in this sense, time was just a toy. And the present, something to entertain us at this moment, until the next comes along.

It certainly was enough to make her ponder her own predicament in the Omniverse. Instead of Omni being intrigued by us, what if we are really simply enticed to be intrigued by him? the paradoxical side of her own question disarmed her defense of an answer, so with a sigh, she let her mind wander, and felt as though she were the reflection of a new star in the sky, and emitted her own light through her illustrious eyes.

The connoisseur of unobtainable light began to climb into the saddle, one svelte leg at a time, refreshed with energy. And kicked the horse across the way, on a path toward the Nexus gate. That'll save someone some Omnilium.

Once again, this time, higher on a perch, she directed her attention on TBG and offered, anew with curiosity, hope and accompanied with a flourishing smile, "I'm going to the city to gather information at the Dalaran Library, " she nodded in an engagé agreement to TBG's previous suggestion "I'd certainly appreciate someone to fly with. It's my first time."

Toybox Girl nodded, and conjured something for herself. She wasn't hungry of course, she didn't get hungry unless she was in desperate circumstances. Her body could process food readily and convert it to useable materials for her nanobot body not dissimilar to biological lifeforms. She needed to do it every once in a while, if there were issues with her Cosmos Energy generation and synthesis utilities. If she didn't go into combat often enough, or spent her energy far too much in combat she could become hungry when her body can't keep up. Excess consumption just went to making her body a little more efficient, fortunately she didn't need to worry about watching her figure like partially biological robots. She created some Cosmic Beer in a simple mug. She sipped it, to see how it tasted and then downed half of it, nursing it as they talked.

Toybox Girl wasn't sure what to say to the question of robot species. She'd never encountered someone that was 'that' unfamiliar with technology. She must have come from a dimension that didn't have robotic life and didn't have much outer-dimensional contact. It must have been nice to be in a dimension that had not yet suffered from the invasions of the Demon Force. "Ahh, I suppose you should think of Robot as the general term above classifications of biological life you are familiar with. Robots are non-biological life, some sentient some not. My species would be by design name I suppose, Toybox Girl ADAPT." Caira made something curious for her consumption, something very bright and hot. It reminded Toybox Girl of the Amateus Nova Cannon, a miniature star was a strange thing to eat. TBG accessed the dataverse and did a few searched, analyzing what she got out of it. "It has a lot of information on Omni but most of it is probably speculation and rumor. You have to understand, that searching for information on the Internet of any world is unreliable at best for any important information. I wouldn't take it at face value, but a general consensus between different sources on the internet that Omni the God of this universe and has absolute control."

Toybox Girl sat in Seiza position on her magic carpet, her legs folded under her in a position that for most humans was painful if they weren't used to sitting like this. "Every city has some need for work. I'm used to doing Mercenary Work where I come from. Hunting down wanted robots, clearing out wild robots that nested too close to cities, protecting small outposts from Demon Force detachments... all in a day's work for a Cosmic Hero."

For some reason, as the girl joined her with a reciprocated method of sustenance, a drink, Caira was slightly comforted with the notion that resembled similarity. It appeared to be a liquid in a familiar thick glass, frosted with a slight chill. Her eyes lingered on it for a moment before the sun's glint on the glass flashed through her lenses.

Caira inclined her head to demonstrate that she listened intently to every word TGB spoke. Every few seconds eyes flickered away under the shade cast by the lenses hovering over her nose, as though she were reviewing the facts and drawing her own conclusions from the information TBG offered. So she isn't human, but she isn't an advanced tool or a weapon either.. Things here definitely worked different, contrary to anything she had ever known. Caira was remarkably impressed with the information that the girl was willing to share, her origin, her make, and of her previous home. She must be strong, she seems to have little fear, even in this unknown place. Slowly a grin formed on the woman's face as she inculcated the meaning of the word 'robot' and instilled the idea of what it represented to her. Power. her eyes widened as she made a deduction at what she was staring at, and a truly advanced one.

Throughout a small pause in the waves of their accommodating conversation, Caira pulled on the reins and tested out the 'controls' or 'navigation', if she could consider the wings such things. The reins grew taught in her grasp, and side to side the horse-like head swayed. Coinciding with these movements were the vertical and adjacent rippling of the expansive wings, beating the ground gently and adjusting to the presence of gravity. They hovered at the peak of an uproar, defiantly ready to fight it blowing a gale in their wake. With the slight yet tense tether, the vision of potential flight grew into more of a reality in her mind.

"Hmm." Caira's hair bobbed in a subtle nod as she grew to know the terminology and the associated definitions. For a moment Caira dropped her guard, a defense built on caution, suspicion, and natural premise.

'Absolute control..'
"Why would you say he offers us an eternity here if people consider him a God?"
the words almost escaped her lips as she wondered if such a being, with immense power- enough to create the entire Omniverse -could be rationalized or psychoanalyzed with the small fragment of understanding she had gained so far. "So I suppose there's no luck there, I wasn't expecting there to be too much, or else it would be so well known that this place might look a tad different.

A God? He's... Omnipotent in this world and- her thoughts paused as TBG's settled movement caught Caira's attention. Involuntarily, she tilted her head a fraction as she recognized the posture as one from her home- the Monastery. Caira blinked at the unexpected. A person had to be quite flexible to do that, let alone a young girl. Perhaps this was one of the many skills of 'robots.'

As she reviewed her choice of words, she spoke, "Well, I don't know too much about robots, but I suspect that in any city, there are people who make choices with unsound consequences." Caira's impression of the girl had grown, she definitely wasn't just some girl, this was the true meaning of a Prime.

The pair took off to the sky. For Toybox Girl, this meant at first figuring out the subtle weight changes and movements to get the magic carpet to respond. After some shakey start, she quickly picked up the patterns to what was happening and deciphered the controls. At least it wasn't intelligent, like a Medicbot or other similar combat vehicles. Medicbot would run out from combat whether you want to run or not. Then again, he always had the best of intentions to heal his patient and then get them back on the front lines to pick up someone else at the same time. He was a useful ally to have for Toybox Girl too, since she could pick up his weapons with her ADAPT system and become an assistant combat healer as well, and a lightning gun that disabled enemy weapons systems.

Which brought Toybox Girl's mind back to her own body. It was a mess, but the ADAPT system should still be working. It's memory banks that made up the majority of her power were gone since she couldn't store up many weapons for a variety of situations, but from her diagnostics she could still pick up weapons for about an hour. "I don't mean to be rude, but do you have a weapon you can show me? I need to test my ADAPT system and I need a live subject to adapt to." Toybox Girl held out one of the hands attached to her arm on her backpack. With a faint blue glow, the hand produced a Handy Bazooka from inside. She twirled it a little bit in the air and tossed it up, with her arm swinging 360 to catch it. Toybox Girl liked to show off a little. The Handy Bazooka was a simple gray weapon but it was overly large being bigger than her torso and could probably shoot something bigger than the size of her head.

Clearly, now that she was showing it, Toybox Girl was a weapon. She sounded matter of fact talking about herself, but there was an edge that Toybox Girl was holding back her emotions. She was mixed between anger, disappointment, sadness, and suppressed her emotions because here there was little use in them right now. She had to put on brave face and hide her fear. "I don't know about you, but my systems are damaged from coming here. A lot of my systems are down and non-functional. My main system is functional but it has lost a lot since I was brought here."

With a Pegasus’s glide, she could no longer see the glaze of dew dusted upon the grass. A swift gust of wind rolled under the wings of the great beast and balanced on an interwoven current, alternating meek feathers with brazen air. The rider found her eyes squinting through the brashly slashing whips but even so, she took in the world from a new height and left the ground behind her.

Caira had never flown nor operated a beast she didn’t need to command, so she reluctantly calmed with the ride as she glided in the sky the gentle skimming of motion rendering the wisps of cloud to a frothy existence. She didn’t have to look over her left shoulder to be sure that TBG was closely adjacent to her side. She found that she enjoyed the celerity; keen motion of tremendous wings, and the encumbering disregard of gravity. With the ether that charged in her lungs, gratis air, she recalled the time she had neared suffocation and received rebirth with Omni’s intervention.

Her glance swept through the wind as TBG muffled some words that Caira strained to hear, then, her eyes grew wide as a huge device came from TBG’s arm, Caira lost focus and felt herself slipping off of the beast before holding on to the stirrups with her heels. Caira nodded in agreement, “Yeah, when I arrived I almost could barely move, it appears gravity works differently here, not to mention,” Caira said, “My powers here aren’t as effective and will certainly take some working to get up to speed with this place. Though, I dueled someone with a sword, and my skill with it didn’t seem to dissipate." Caira wanted to make the point that there was more to her than power, but struggled to do so. She hadn’t expanded on what she could do, nor test out what she couldn’t from her old world, she wasn’t ready to do it on this Pegasus as they whirled in the air, no matter how stable. “I’ll show you when we land.” Caira would also see for herself with this promise.

I actually lied -to the swordsman, and told him I had been here longer, under the bounty hunter alias of Ayryn, he didn’t seem to believe me but found that it was hard to prove otherwise- I.. I think I’m afraid of heights, but it could just be the difference of gravity here!” a small peep came from her as she looked below the stirrups.

Now, swept away in the pristine wind and residing in the new experience, she had not noticed that her dark cape had gone astray, and sailed away with the wind, crackling with movement at such a dense speed. Now her contrasting dark attire, enhanced with some mottled hidden pockets, looked rather distinguished upon the white palomino armed with her pale gauntlet gleaming to match the hand holding the reins. Soon she would have to conjure a replacement (cloak) for her habiliments, but care for that obligation was gone with the same wind that cast it away. With closed eyes and a loosened grip on the reins that commanded the beast, today, though she was an anachronism, valued her place in this verse.

Picturesquely, Dalaran was in sight and surrounded by the glowing mysticism that animated the suspended island that was speckled in gray brick-framed houses and exotic plants that seemed alive. Enticing, it had a magical, powerful aura around it, practically glowing as it floated as a resounding beacon in the sky. Caira found her eyes widening, for a reason she could not explain, and her hands loosened from the reins of the beast as they neared the land in the sky. However her negligence was not without consequence as the expected occurred. Much to her own disdain, she resembled a tumbling crumple of mixed appendages warped in the velocity of suspension. The Pegusus had reared her off, and sent her forward. Alighted, though not in the way she expected, she now resembled a coin as she was tossed through the air.

Her mind, went elsewhere, reminiscing despite her nodus, and she imagined herself as a coin, flipping only to eventually decide which to fall on- What would it be? Heads or tails? she felt herself scoff at such a redundant question, as she pondered the depths of her own mind subconsciously.

Tails: her past, she was a monk of origin, and her orphaned mystery that continued to control her thoughts in her waking hours. The unspoken unknown had found its niche to dominate her mind. Heads: her future and present, one that was unlimited and her fighting defense seemed completely natural here, she had dueled General List without demurral, and won, her triumph was one she took pride in. Pride was a sign of arrogance, and that was a quality uncharacteristic of a friar.

Which will I be? she felt a slight aching in her heart, one that longed for an answer that she didn’t know she had asked. The elders of the council had once flipped coins to settle a tie in opinion, though it rarely happened because there were seven in the court. Caira was now fueled by memories of her past, her quest for the unknown future, and whatever she- a metaphorical icon of a coin- landed on, she would need to decide what and who she would become:

A defender of justice or a dominating monstrosity?

Movement tore her body and segregated her mind, instinct and muscle tensed as she had an arc-second of prediction to sense impact and braced for it, what would cause a clattering of viridescent stained glass. It was strange, as she hadn’t seen what she had crashed into up until she was completely upon it.

Through the soft sound of breaking echoed in her ears as collateral damage, and the image it represented, she recognized the obligation to both her past, and her future. Kindness verses Justice. After all, fate had never promised to be merciful. And while justice was mostly unkind, it was never without cause. Caira was free to enjoy the infinity of the Omniverse if she would only allow herself to be. Clenching her jaw she fell gracefully into the ground, a hard thud reverberated in her joints as the consanguinity that had chained to her to the past evaporated with the grip it held on her destiny.

Though she did have one thing to rectify before she was truly free, but this task, she regarded, would be a facile quandary.

While Caira had tumbled into the library’s window, which seemed to be lower than the other buildings, the Pegasus she had flown landed gracefully at the entrance at the library before doing a small gloating gallop with his hooves in front of the wooden door in the hidden corridor.

...

The scent of dusted books filled her senses with a faded redolence, before she could but open her eyes, her body moved slightly, assessing the damage done. Few scratches had etched her clothing, along with the bruising ache in her derriere. The bruised being became aware that she was surrounded by fragmented glass splayed upon the ground. Rows of mystic books lined the high shelves, and Caira recalled her strange arrival to her original destination. Am I really here? The Dalaran Library? Though this could just be a wealthy man’s study. She almost smiled and faced an open book, the frayed pages had been opened to an astoundingly well-painted picture of King Aragorn of Camelot. Her head gradually inclined, analyzing the figure in an attempt to associate his name with his face and her blurred eyesight sharpened to see a king adorned in a knight’s armor-an unconventional custom. But that very defiance made it all the more respectable.

The vast room reminded her of the Great Hall of Tomes from her homeland but the shelves were much smaller, and today, this moment, she felt as though books were the most important thing in the Universes.

A loud heigh asserted itself into Caira’s ringing ear, a mage woman approached wearing kind eyes masked by a pair of old gold rimmed spectacles. She had come to assess the situation, the damages done to the library, or just to get a good look at who was to blame.

“Oh look a young Mage!” the old woman crooned in a motherly tone, “You alright miss?”

“Hm?” Caira was curious at the mention of sorcery, and did not identify herself as a bearer of magic, she looked over her shoulder, all around to see whom she was directing her crooning at.

Bellowing out of the woman’s mouth was a stream of merriment, followed by a more eloquent and accented distinction in the frequency of her voice, “A Mage who doesn’t know she’s a Mage... How very amusing!”

Caira noticed a distinctive color around her shoulders, an intangible cloud of pigment and voiced it.

“What?! Haven’t you ever seen a mage before? Sheesh these new Primes! I don’t know where Omni finds them.. That’s what we call an aura dear, all mages have them... Well not all.. But most are accustomed to seeing them. Some show energy levels and others are just seen visually at the time of a cast. Hm. Your own seems to be trapped in your eyes! I wonder who could have done that..” The woman’s trailed and her spectacles swooped in close, examining the shade of her irises.

Caira craned her neck backward, in a resistant attempt to evade the inspection but not far enough to escape the woman’s interrogating gaze. The aged mage spoke of technology for a moment, and gave Caira a small technological device, and provided information on how to access the Dataverse. “Here, I’ve put my email in this mobile device, I’ll stay in touch with you.” The older woman looked over her shoulder to see the loud sauntering hustle of an approaching figure disrupting the instructional conversation-was the library clerk. Caira felt the clerk’s frown descend upon her, eyebrows flexed with agitation. The spectacled woman scampered off, unwilling to confront the authority, but had the intention of staying in touch with Caira remained as in her hand, she held the strange looking device.

Toybox Girl held out the handy bazooka to the side and withdrew it, materializing it back into her ADAPT system. She didn't need to be armed when approaching a city if she could help it. Besides hiding what capabilities she had, people felt safer around someone not hold a gun. It was useful to have the ADAPT system for this, any other bot from her home would either have hard mounted weapons that couldn't be removed or their handheld weapons that couldn't be hidden. But some are more hidden core weapons than others and magic users usually looked innocent until they made a magic circle and rained ice onto you. Following Caira's lead, the short conversation revealed to Toybox Girl some interesting comments which could lead a number of directions. Weakened in this world by Gravity? That definately sounded like Caira was used to a Low-Gravity environment, but that she had no problems now clearly indicated that she was probably from a high gravity one and just spent at least her recent times if not more extensive time in a low gravity area. What made this really puzzling was that she wasn't familiar with Robots, so she must be familiar with fairly advanced physics altering magic.

That she was deceitful, and talked about it as well as her fears, was also interesting and probably meant to get Toybox Girl's trust as she casually revealed that trusted Toybox Girl to some degree. It was a good start to foster friendship but that was yet to be seen yet. So far this was all a professional situation to TBG typical of missions away from home base. Though she didn't have a home base yet anyway. Amicable relations were always good, but true friendship would take shared hardships and tough times that test character. "I haven't had many opportunities to hang out in low-gravity environments myself. Space stations tend to have gravity generators and the Ark avoids space combat since the Ark has substantial defenses on planets. I know what you mean though." Toybox Girl gestured at the ground. "I used to be able to fly so heights now can cause some damage without my booster to keep me from landing hard on the wrong part of my body."

As Toybox Girl followed, she watched the spectacle as Caira lost control of her animal and it flung her into the library. That was unfortunate, and a little funny, but concerned for Caira she floated down to the window broken from her getting thrown through it. "Are you okay in there?" She watched as the woman approached her and then wandered off paying no attention to Toybox Girl. Caira had magic, which wasn't at all surprising to TBG, but also had some wireless device she gave to Caira. Despite the appearance of this Dalaran and the non-technology vehicle Toybox Girl had summoned instead of what she wanted, there was other technology here besides herself.

Caira had adventured there for answers, and even crash landed into the very library she searched for but now was challenged by a clerk whom asked slowly but aggressively, “Say, are you related to the fellow that was in here earlier?” she leaned in, examining Caira’s eyes with an expression laced with threatening suspicion, yet somehow observed her from a fearful distance. The Prime leaned backward ungracefully with her hand balancing over some small shards of glass that cracked under her weight and almost fell over a misplaced book as the sharp slivers protruded into her gauntlet. The woman before her sent a strange sensation of intimidation into Caira, synthetically intangible as it was not a sense of true fear, but imitated one well. The fact that it was as though she was the first person to walk into the library in years, and yet this was quite evidently, not the case as more bustling feet had followed the clerk’s scamper. Perhaps the energy emitted from the clerk’s eyes was a strange intention of defense the woman put up, a wall without walls.. A dark mirror of what the clerk felt for Caira.

But her purple eyes could not escape the trembling trepidation she felt bubbling within her, adversely opposed to the woman’s eyes looking ominous and would not leave her own. The enchantment worked as a charm, a defense that dissuaded any idea for attack. Caira felt herself ready for battle- the woman’s spell didn’t work the way it was intended to on Caira, whom was genetically accustomed and poised for battle and adversity, fear would cause a battle to ensue to those whom were irrational. Something close to hysteria hinted and screamed within her, as Caira became more sure this was a test of judgement, one she felt she would fail as the suspense of her frozen posture caused her to tense and her muscles to prepare for attack. I suspect it ends when eye contact is broken, her thoughts fought the deluging effects of the unnamed spell.

The more she strained her eyes to leave the clerk’s, the more she found their reluctancy. Caira heard a beckoning question from TBG, a distant and muffled question about her current state, she seized the moment as her hand quickly flashed in front of her face, moving on its own and was waved to disrupt whatever spell that had been cast. Caira was able to breathe freely again, and realigned the crooked sunglasses over her eyes once more. “Yeah,” Caira’s voice echoed to TBG but could not see her current location.

“Hmm, I suppose not.” The sorceress said finally, so much time had gone in the few minutes this had occurred in, Caira blinked in the prolonged silence and the clerk pretended she hadn’t just enchanted Caira, whom responded with a scowl of anguish as the clerk relinquished the silence held over the both of them. “Only strong mages are able to break enchantments like that.”

Caira was flummoxed, first an attack and now a complement? Though.. I did break the nice window she had there... The Prime was sure that the clerk had heard the spectacled woman announce loudly (in the once quiet library) that she had no knowledge of her own ‘mage’ descent. The time had gone by, a crowd formed in a crescent behind the clerk whom signaled to the window Caira had obliterated with her arrival. The gesture implied that the clerk had assumed the worst about her invasion, but now could read the opposite was the truth.

Caira nodded obediently. “Sorry about the window. I’ll fix it immediately.” She had jumped to the highest platform, (Basic Jump) and on the shelf-perch summoned a beautifully detailed stained glass, one that would fit the triangle she had ruptured. Caira poked her head out the window, looking for TBG, “If you’re gonna fly in, I’d do it now, otherwise.. I have a good idea as to where the doors are.” With a smile she waited as she conjured the glass. It fell into place as though it were a piece of a decorous puzzle, and replaced the sickly green shards with a rainbow of incandescent glass casting rays of hued light.

Caira had just enough time to place the replacement window before the stability she had gained from balancing on the bookshelf had responded to her weight and phased out from underneath her. She clattered into the ground once more, this time gaining slight abrasions from the glass that crunched underfoot.

Caira rose from her kneed position, she had fallen this time, more delicately, but she brushed the glass from her knee as though it were sand, revealing a small scrape wound.

“It’s not the same.” The clerk observed, eyes on the glass window, and then they looked upward at the beauteous roof, with a sharpened tongue she paused, almost repressing the urge to scold Caira.

Caira smiled, one that transcended the situation and murmured in a low voice, “That’s the beauty of it. It doesn’t have to be...
Now I take it you aren’t the librarian...”
....

The clerk scrolled the isles of wooden shelves with ease, and spoke that she might find him hanging around here. Caira nodded and offered a hint of gratitude, which the clerk responded with an agitated twitch of her eye and a smirk. “He usually swings around over here..” With that, her aggressor had left and the crowd dispersed around the authority of the woman.

The Prime waited some time as she examined the many books from the isles. Finally a orange creature swooped over her, as though it had come from the sky and landed nimbly in front of her position. Caira looked at it, where it expectantly reciprocated her stare. It had human-like features however was quite evidently a beast. The primate cocked his head to the side in patient waiting. Until Caira finally stammered, “Might you be the librarian?”

The orangutang greeted her with a chimp-like smile and bobbed his head. Nothing was as it seemed.

“I hope I might ask you a question?” He was a peculiar fellow whom wordlessly handed her a book without pages and watched her intently.

The girl’s feet shifted beneath her as her eyes narrowed with suspicion. Perhaps this is a game? She pressed the book to her lips and whispered to the cover inaudibly. The beast remarked with surprised, as suddenly the empty cover of a book sprouted into a blooming pink flower. A scream left the Prime’s lips and she dropped it, extremely startled despite the prior knowledge that this place was one of magic.

The Librarian clapped his hands with joy and with an exaggerated “eeck!” he picked it up and it became a book with pages once more. Caira leaned in, intrigued and distracted from the previous negative notes, “How did you do that!” on her lips, a child-like smile curved with the words.

The Librarian did not like her scream and pointed with the primate’s long and dexterous fingers directed to a sign hung above him announcing:
1.Silence
2.Books must be returned no later than the last date shown
3.Do not meddle with the nature of causality

She looked at the third one, the context applied to wizards and mages alike. Usually, applying the knowledge she knew about magic, spells could be undone by something stupidly redundant and easy but in another way, difficult to execute or preform.

“Ah, sorry,” her voice muttered as her face still flushed with a touch of color from the shock and the creature flexed the pages in his hand. The book, a lifeless solid.

The Librarian made some movements and exaggerated gestures for a moment, that she felt pertained to the flower/book cover, however had no way to interpret the creature’s surd form of speech. Then he pointed to her, and she shook her head, “No, no, I didn’t mean to scream or startle anyone. Rule one- but don’t throw me out just yet..” she protested with a wavering voice. The orangutang shook his head in disapproval and was disappointed she hadn’t understood.

This time, the hand of the beast grasped a book taken from a nearby shelf, and held it out in a way that seemed to ask her Are you here for a specific book?

Caira was relieved for a moment, she thought she understood what this meant as she leaned in and whispered her purpose in a portent voice, her eyes resembled tears of the Nexus, perpetually infinite yet almost ready to flow. “Might there be some way to meet Omni face to face, I have some questions I need to ask him?”

The Librarian nodded up and down, so as to say (which Caira interpreted as) Depends the sort of questions that you have?

The female Prime gleamed with excitement. “I would like to meet Omni, well... Again, and I’m glad to hear that you think it is possible.” Perhaps she was just interpreting what the chimp said with his hand movements, the way she wanted to.

The orangutang gave her a long hard look with his apelike features and dark round eyes, then he did some flamboyant gestures that incorporated the flailing of his arms. Answers or comments Caira couldn’t read for the life of her, but as she strived to understand, and finally felt like there was a shot the primate suddenly stopped and ventured down some of the bookshelves to offer her a few books.

As the stack grew in size, she wondered if he had a name, and realized if she had asked she still wouldn’t know the answer. As she treaded closely behind, her optimism making her smile, suddenly faltered with her step. If there is a way to Omni- and there must be- (for she had already met him once) why didn’t he go there? To allow him to be able to talk. Though it wasn’t like she expected Omni to be a genie and grant every one’s wish. That was what Omnilium was for, the currency he created that does aid for everyone.

“It must be a difficult task, to reach him if you are handing all of these books to me.” Caira said in a low voice, and shuffled around with a towering pile of pages that went just over her shoulders and tilted off-balance, threatening to fall with her every step.

When it seemed like he was finished, Caira had in her hand ten books, well eleven after she had picked one up that was called Greek Mythology.

The orangutang was about to leave her but she protested, feeling more victimized than helped, “Excuse me- er.. Will I be able to find the answers if I read the books that you gave me?” Or will I just have more questions? Or is this whole thing a spoof? Doubt filtered into her mind, Is it even possible?

The orangutang made a few movements, his fingers twitched and his shoulders offered a shrug, Caira interpreted his movement into words, Perhaps if you look hard enough. She would have preferred a nuncupative response rather than thousands of pages of books, however if this was what it took to find Omni- if it could be done- she felt as though this were the right way.

The orangutang sauntered around looking for another Prime to help, (leaving Caira to her stack) perhaps if TBG had any questions, she could get more answers than books that Caira had obtained.

Each title of the books seemed as though they were from a completely different topic, and they were all of assorted genres:

“Greek Mythology,
Of Mages and Spells,
Historical Improvements of the Omniverse and its Historical People,
Of Myths and Mythos: Legends of the Verses,
Of Creatures, Beings, and Relations,
Traveling Through Dreams: Spirit Walking,
Combat Throughout the Ages and Omniverse,
A Nexus of Mysteries,
Technologies and Rise of Coruscant Era,
A Tangled Web,
All About Omni.”

Caira expressed a hopeless sigh, if there was a connection between all these other than the dense weight of the many pages each had, it would take some time to find it, not to mention interosculate it all into a single common denominator.

A stamp fell upon the lines in the back of the book, haunting the great ceiling with a sound that imitated a gavel and amplified with the heightened authority of the tall wooden desk. The embossed page engraved characters, ones that looked almost too abstract to be a date, marked in fading black ink. Her eyes followed the bindings of the books she had taken out. How would she carry all of these?

As if answering her question, a magical book bag was given to her by the person whom had stamped the numerous books. “We normally don’t allow this many books to leave at one time. But fellow Mages must look after one another, and I’m sure you’ll take great care of each one. Here’s a bag with a protection spell for you.” To Caira’s surprise the bag made the weight of the books almost nil, and she hefted only the large size of the dark colored side bag over her hip, searching for TBG.

Toybox Girl heard Caira's reply, but it was clear that this window was not meant to be opened. Besides that, she had no business in what was clearly a library. She glanced at the Dataverse for information on the place. While it not have the modern conviences of a digital library or an online list of books with a system of chekcing in and hout, she did quickly find a recent article about someone who had barged into thep lace and did enough crimes to warrant a wanted poster. She downloaded the poster, and shook her head to Caira. "I'll meet you outside when you are done, I've found something on the Dataverse to look up and see if it is worth pursuing." She had mentiond that she wanted to visit the library so that should give TBG some time to investigate the validity of the wanted poster for some demonish looking guy Magus.

She floated down to the ground and hopped off of her magic carpet. While Caira's mount had wandered off and would probably live its own life, her magic carpet would just sit around if she didn't take it with her. Toybox Girl opted to dismantle the carpet instead and break it apart to Omnililum again. She wouldn't want to waste the resource, convenient that she could recycle unused objects so readily thought it took a bit of time to perform. She wandered around for a minute around the outside of the library to get her bearings and find the entrance so that she could find her way back, then asked for direction to the local police, or in this case the guardhouse.

Toybox Girl made her way out to the guardhouse, observing a variety of things on her way. Soon she found that her ADAPT system worked as she stored the spells being cast around her answering the question that she had for Caira but didn't have the chance to observe. From simple cantrips she wouldn't think twice about to substantial attack spells, just walking down the streets of a wizarding city could never be boring for someone that can easily imitate the magic with relative ease. She found the guardhouse not far away from the library and like everything else here, had mages milling around, with armored mages making the majority of guards.

The out of place robot girl walked inside the place. She inquired to the bounties currently active for the city and in return got a short stack of papers showing her the various ones currently in place. Some were quite old and worn, but the freshest one stood out as the one that Toybox Girl was looking for, which was not much different from the one online confirming that it was real. She pulled it out and showed it to the guard helping her. "Yea, I remember this guy. I wasn't there personally but I read the reports and witness statements. Real card, he tried to intimidate citizens at the library and assaulted some of the citizens as he resisted arrest. We get that a lot around here actually, but because he escaped he's gone from a few nights in jail and a hefty fine to a bounty. Primes like him have to be dealt with harshly." Toybox Girl nodded. "Thank you for the information, I may consider pursuing him." "Be careful now young lady, a Prime like him doesn't fear death." I wouldn't be worried about that, I am a Prime myself. I guess you could say he gives other Primes a bad name, but mostly I'm interested in him because he reminds me of some old enemies of mine." "Well well, you must have some history behind you." "Thanks again."

Toybox Girl rejected the offer to socialize more, as she needed to get back to Caira. Finding Caira outside looking for where she had gone off to. "I hope the library was useful? I found this online and confirmed the bounty locally. Some dark mage messed with the library and got himself onto a wanted poster for escaping from the authorities." Toybox Girl held up the wanted poster that she had gotten from the guards. "He looks to be the type that I like to hunt down."

Caira was at a dangerous point in her life, as she was still deciding who she would choose to be. The pondering that echoed in her mind like the dripping of a single drop of water and remained persistently incessant in the back of her mind. This uncertainty made her dangerously unpredictable. Even to herself.

Though she exited the Library a different way than she had entered, her footsteps resembled the imprint of a choice as they pattered lightly down the stone stairs.

Exhaling a breath the mage sighed, anger was such a transient emotion and she had let it get the best of her at the Nexus, never again. But now, stickily, remorse clogged her cognition and slithered into her thoughts. Remorse too, was a sentient sentiment, one she might come to learn too well. The skepticism of her own doubt caused a slight compromise as she would lead her footsteps. She was deliberating what type of person she wanted to be.

The planned rendezvous with TBG on the outside of the Library and carried Caira's footsteps onward. As she departed from the foyer, her head swiftly turned to either side then deliberating which pathway to take, met with an unexpected surprise. In her back.

"O-oof" The mage said ungracefully and was taken off her feet but the nuzzling of a Pegasus. Her Pegasus. The same one that had taken her from the sky. "Oh. It's you." Caira said in an unamused voice and raised a brow.

The white winged steed bounced flamboyantly, while bobbing its head and mane, trying to tell her something. "I'll tell you what. If you can take me to TBG, I'll forgive you." Assuming the creature had taken the deal, the clacking hooves resounded through the sleek cobblestone alleyway and finally brought her through the tunnel of slick darkness into an opening that beamed with sunlight.

The essence of the courtyard that the Pegasus led Caira to, was only really about ten feet away from the great wooden doors she had just emerged from. And whether the woman liked it or not, she had to validate that the pink and red rimmed figure approaching her was indeed TBG. The girl had questioned the library before turning over some information she had acquired on a lead.

With a nod, Caira agreed "Yes, I think I found a valuable resource." But it wasn't quite clear whether she meant the books within the heavy bag over her shoulder, or those whom had befriended her within.

"A mage?" her eyes simmered resolutely as the poster was revealed. She leaned forward, her nose hovered near the etched papyrus. "It says there's a reward for him either dead or captured.." she paused almost gulping, "Or banished."

It seemed like a harsh consequence when the poster didn't specifically mention how he had killed anyone. But the aggressive destruction implied at the library caused her to ponder how severe a punishment crossing boundaries really deserved. Caira didn't have a banishment circle nor knew how to obtain one, and was grateful. This meant that their resort would be capture, her preference, or death. Which was a bit of a draw back, considering that Omni had said Primes could come back.

Still, TBG offered that she had had some experience with this sort of thing, the experience would be greatly appreciated if they were now teaming up to pursue this bounty.

Consequently how this all played into the Omniverse Caira wasn't sure, but the pieces were there, and the deliberation only took her a second. If the two could get to him before any other bounty hunters, the chance to reason with him would be the best. That is, until her eyes drifted to the final line. Doesn't listen to reason. The female mage thought for a second, then accepted the challenge with the stakes of Magus's life on the line.

"I'm up for it. Also, I feel curiously inclined to ask him why he chose the library of all places to establish a name like this for himself." This comment was mainly meant to turn the hunt onto a lighter note. Caira did not tell TBG that she would resist banishing him if she could, which was a bad gamble considering the two could easily die from this. Or worse. So she reconsidered and voiced this wondering the reaction that might be returned.

"Recently, I watched a friend be banished and I would like to request we not do this unless we deem him truly guilty or unless we do not have a choice. Banishment looks like a horrible fate. Even for this guy."

Perhaps her mercy would get her killed. Eyes fell from the poster to TBG, considering her age and resolving that should she become threatened, Caira would find a way to reverse the peril at her own cost.

Astonishingly enough, someone else in the had seen a glimmer of the poster they displayed and pusillanimously approached the two from behind. It was quite evident the small person was intimidated by the presence of the collaborating Primes. He whom looked as though used to be a guard of Dalaran but now was much too aged to be active and on duty. The wisps of his beard touched his chest and the step of his wooden cane came to a halt.

"Um.. Excuse me, you wouldn't happen to be attempting finding that person.. Would you?"

A question? How peculiar.. He may have wanted to do some sort of trade, or know who we are hunting.. Or if he is a Mage it could be this mysterious Magus in disguise! Her skeptical thoughts did not touch the straightforwardness of her words.

"That depends.. You wouldn't happen to know where he is, would you?"

The veteran guard looked content, "Ah, now that's the question, isn't it?"

"Now now, information doesn't come cheaply." Toybox Girl frowned as he suggested that he needed payment. It was sometimes a necessary evil, but where TBG was from most people were accommodating to Cosmic Heroes. Robots in general were fairly logically about the deal and provided information to the Cosmic Heroes freely such that they might visit again while the Heroes provided trade and free services while in town. Cosmic Heroes were generally well known for being generous in their day to day dealings with townsfolk, so information, especially about wanted men, flowed easily. Nobody wanted a wanted guy in town causing who knows what especially if that guy had a lot of firepower in his hands. On the other hand, on worlds where the Demon Force was welcomed, those with political turmoil, or especially human societies tended to be more self-centered.

Caira crossed her arms. "Why not just tell us what you know?" But before her sentence could be completed the old mage disappeared in a buoyant puff of smoke. This left her head craned and looking back towards where she had come. The alleyway that lead to.. "The.. Library.." Caira recalled the clerk's fearful expression 'the Mage that was in here earlier? Hmm.. I suppose not.' "TBG, I think I have a lead. We could ask one of the Library attendants if they saw what direction he went and after the storm he left.. They're soon not to forget!"

Toybox Girl nodded and started walking to the library alongside Caira. "That should be useful but It has been a while since he was here so don't expect to find him so quickly. We don't know if he had allies nearby or significant resources. Let us hope that he didn't have some way to get out of here quickly. If he had a way to teleport out of here we'd be in for a long haul if we wanted to catch him." The pair re-entered the library, and this time the right way. Naturally, little had changed since Caira was in here, and the attendants were all busy with their duties elsewhere to greet them. Toybox Girl was half tempted to get some books herself now. She hadn't been interested, but now that she had actually entered the building the temptation was closer.

"You said an attendant might be a lead, which one?" As she spoke with Caira and started informaiton gathering here, she put a more serious effort in information gathering on the internet. Naturally she found loads and loads of information that had nothing to do with what she was looking for. Omoogle searches with various keywords turned up link after link of useless information, and a good deal of adult material of course, for where there are people there are always going to be such things prevalent.

This is how she found out about the Time Dilation effects in the Omniverse. She decided not to say anything yet to Caira, but from what she had found there was some chance that the time Magus had committed the acts to get wanted wasn't that far ago in comparison to the time that they had from looking about. There was a lot of speculation about the effects, but it was clear from the timing of postings, now that she was paying attention, and the necroposting that happened constantly, that something was affecting something. You could find data across each board of people ending up posting about things long after they had ended like they were brand new only to get flamed and ridiculed for being so behind. There wasn't any reason to suspect it yet, but it was something to keep in mind that Magus might have experienced a different amount of time than the people he had left behind at the library.

As the two Primes entered, Caira passively swept the familiar library. It was given that she was searching for the same clerk she had spoken to about her crash landing, however the scent of the library had changed and the atmosphere was no longer full of idling attendants. Time flies when you're reading. Caira reasoned and felt bewildered for a moment as her mind reeled on the idea that her and TBG were a team, united by the unusual reinforcement of an agreed enterprise.

"That just means we'll have to be hot on his trail. And perhaps even faster than him. But.. Directions first, and well.. I'm not so sure about the element of surprise if we have the poster, we should assume he is at least aware." Her voice spoke in response to TBG's words that alluded to teleportation. But that sort of thing.. It's an omnipotent ability and can't really be possible.. Even here.. Right? Her skepticism raced back to the fact that she crashed a winged horse into a floating island. There had been magic and unexplainable things in her land but teleporting was something she considered with a great esteem as something even more improbable than its magnificence in power. But then again, their target could be too.

"Hmm.. That one!" It didn't take long for the Prime to locate her objective. With a flash the luminous purple eyes flickered fervently with new life as they descended on the thirty-ish mage with scraggly hair that was pinned back in a bun with a pencil poking out one end and it's tip protruding the other. An iconic librarian with a round face but thin and narrow build, strolling the isles and shelving a single leather-spined book.

Draped over the clerk's shoulders appeared to be a blue cape or shawl of some kind and with an excited speed, Caira approached so swiftly that it caused a flush of air to flutter the woman's cape, alerting of a presence behind her. Caira couldn't see it, but the clerk's eyes teemed with a livid fear and beneath the shawl the set of boney shoulders tensed.

"Oh, I'm very sorry. Did I startle you?" The Prime said in the most compassionate and languid performance she could muster from her excited vocal chords. A hope to butter the clerk up, formed in her mind. A negotiation tactic, to jog her memory. I know she knows something... She seems to respond to the idea of violence.

Caira's eyes flickered to the moving window of shimmering light as the familiar stranger turned flimsily to face the Prime whose stance was overwhelmingly charismatic.

"Oh, it's .. You."

Caira couldn't hide the gentle curling that formed at the corners of her lips. She's glad to see me AND she remembers me! At least I'm impressionable.. Her thoughts resided as her gaze directed upward, away from the clerk. "Still enjoying my window I see. Hmm, the shape has changed." Her precise observation of the stain glass and shift in attention to the object involved in their previous altercation caused a flash in the clerk's eyes as the pencil haired woman eyed the window with suspicion.

Her gaze read Are you going to break another one? As her lips moved toward another path, "Ah yes, funny how magic works.. Do you need something?"

The clerk had sized up Caira's easily read interest in the clerk rather than the window she alluded to. And that though the Prime's eyes were on the window as she mentioned it, her attention was fully set on her reaction.

It wasn't the Prime's mistake that the library clerk was entirely devoted to reading people as well as books while perhaps paranoia had heightened her skepticism of any of the Dalaran visitors. So much to the extent that suspicion fell on any and all who caused the woman disease.

Caira was glad to get to the point, for she had just told TBG they should make haste, "Um, yes." There was a filling pause as the library hostess reviewed and assumed the words Caira would presume. "I was wondering if you might have information on a particular wizard that may have been in here recently. He's a Prime and apparently he caused a scene."

For a moment, the clerk just stood there. How did she know about that? The bookkeeper's vague suspicions confirmed. This sorceress Prime was most certainly in association to the one whom had threatened to melt her! Of course she knew exactly who the Prime meant, how could the woman forget such a beastly man! Her expression crumpled into one that reconciled with distress to conceal her distraught thoughts.

Caira explained further, before the frantic woman could have a panic attack and start bellowing any sort of war whistle. "I um.. Or we, rather, are searching for him, for Dalaran's sake. "

How do I conceal little and yet so much? Toybox Girl was right that people could be working with him. And yet, this lady's lip trembles at the idea of him. This certainly gives me an impression of whom I am soon to face. She seems like the type of woman who demands answers up front and will want to know the whole story before obliging. Still, I'm not sure if it's safe to tell her here, a spy from the next isle over could easily eavesdrop and we would loose any advantage of time or speed. Our conversation must be in secret.. But there isn't time to choose a room when even the ears have walls.

Caira's hands became a flurry of movements as the clerk interjected "What are you doing-" her eyes scowled as the pencil was pulled from the ball in her hair, "That's Dalaran property-"

"Shh. No talking in the library." Caira flicked her finger toward the sign and her opponent crossed her arms with a seething anger.

Caira wrote, "Listen, I'm searching for the Mage that may have stormed in here. Do you know of him or not? Reply with only a nod of your head."

The woman was still startled, however the idea that it was a secret, seemed to quell any anger that was targeted at the confronting Prime. Secrets and silence seemed to be something any assistant would respect.

With a designated nod, their interrogation proceeded, any authority was only obeyed from the words on paper. "Will you please imply that occurred-"

"Better yet, I'll take you to the records room."

Caira folded her book and frowned, Great, just what I need, to be seen going into this "records room" with a Dalaran Library official. Well, I can only hope my efforts weren't in vain.

As if picking up on Caira's train of thought, the clerk nodded and put on a mask of emotion, "No of course we have ALL the books you could ask for, but if it's a record directly of Omni and Aragorn you want, best follow me."

Beckoned and prodded into the room by prying eyes, she finally found herself in the back room after a labyrinth of messy filings that seemed larger than the library itself.

"Alright, don't tell me why you are here for that mage, I don't want to know, I can guess well enough." The auditor said with a low voice and assumed and hoped that Caira would hunt the enemy mage down. "He came in here not too long ago, when he demanded to see the Librarian. He had a sort of darkness protruding from him, he was quite intimidating and caused a scene. Threatened my life," she said dramatically, to incite interest. "It was then when I called the guards over and I really can't remember much else, I heard that they weren't much of a match for him."

"Did he end up.. Er.. Talking to the Librarian?"

"Yes.. Yes, I think he rather did. Actually, the guards stopped because the Librarian requested it to be so. However you can probably see that it did not change the outcome."

Caira couldn't believe her luck. This seemed like good and valuable information, unless it was set to throw her off. She quickly dismissed that idea as she asked another question, one that was crucial, "Did you see what direction he went in?"

With a sigh the clerk sat in a plush chair, "No, I'm afraid not. The guards were all around and well, I'm not much of a fighter."

The.. Guards.. TBG had mentioned something about that.. And then there was that strange puff ball of a wizard that appeared to be a guard as well.

"Hm, but I can't just ask guards all day, do you know if there is a guard tower or have any other suggestions? You guys are wizards don't you have any means to track or cast spells to trace the invisible lines of his footsteps?" After that sentence left her lips, Caira wasn't sure what direction to turn to.

"You're the Prime, why are you asking me?"

"Because you know Dalaran and live here. Say, so you know a short little wizard with a twirling beard in a guard's uniform?"

Her mind pondered the puff of smoke once more as the conversation with the clerk came to a close.

Toybox Girl tagged along with Caira. She continued to concentrate her processors on the Dataverse buy little information was coming from it. She had hit a wall in trying to tap into the information that was readily available and she didn't have access to any more private and secret areas to use. Caira's sources in the library hadn't turned up much though. The mysterious guard was all they had as a lead now and he was just mysterious. Toybox Girl wondered if the man was just doing it to mess with them, it wouldn't be the first time she's found people like that. Koko Gaap from her universe was a pint sized cutely disformed bot cursed by the Demon Gaap who loved to spread her mischief by attaching the Demon BS to other robots so they would be turned into small super deformed versions of themselves. A lot of the girls liked the Chibi form and most didn't let it stop them fighting, though their firepower was quartered it gave them some supportive powers too.

"I have an idea Caira. We could use some more direct assistance in this endeavor." There was something she hadn't tried yet but it was well known on the Dataverse boards. Secondary characters were known to come from Summoning by Primes. She concentrated and held up her hands. What they needed was some support, a couple of bots that could explore freely and scout potential locations for their target. She needed guys that were fast and reliable, and she knew well that the Bee Tribe had made a pratical army of Cosmic Heroes for the Ark. They could come in great numbers and swarm their targets and their small size and agility made them great scouts. "I am going to summon some help from my universe. You can do it too, Primes are the source of Secondaries in this world and it relates to the names, Primes brought the Secondaries to the Omniverse." Toybox Girl shrugged. "I don't like the idea of getting more people stuck here in the Omniverse, but the Cosmic Ark is not short on bots. After all... It is only a matter of time before the Demon Force comes to invade this Universe as they have so many others." Two forms appeared and slowly materialized. Their signature black and yellow bodies solidified and shapes became whole. The summoning finished as Caira conversed with their potential informant. "Where am I?" "Where are we I think you mean, oh a Toybox Girl Model." "Did you warp us in here? We were just enjoying some time off from the Union Wars." Toybox Girl smiled. "I'm afraid so, I've brought you to a place called the Omniverse that isn't connected to the Ark. Connect with me, it'll be faster and we have a rush order."

Toybox Girl communicated with the two Beezle wirelessly exchanging information much faster than they could speaking to eachother. It was an efficient but impersonal way to communicate and only used when required. "We see, of course." "Bzzzzt, I was hoping to see Crimrose in action today, but now we are going to be stuck here for a while no?" "We got it though." The two Beezle understood what they were here for. Cosmic Heroes always worked in teams and then with the Ark in unison. While Toybox Girl had Caira as a partner, she had no information base yet. That she had ended up here meant other Cosmic Heroes could have been forced here, and worse Demon Force members could be assembling their bases and factories right now to take over this set of connected world. That meant that any support deemed necessary had to be brought in.

Toybox Girl turned and the now trio included Caira into the concussion by their body language."Alright Ladies, we are looking for any information on the dark mage in this bounty." Toybox Girl held up the wanted ad. "We aim to start our time off in this dimension by making a little money. This is a magical city where anything could happen so keep on your toes. We also have a lead on a wizard guard but the situation with him is unknown at best so let's not focus on that..."

Toybox Girl ADAPT BS Restored.

Toybox Girl paused for a moment, and some clicking sounds were clearly audible. Click Click... Thud! The previously dysfunctional booster on the back of her backpack adjusted, little motors quietly whirring as they adjusted its aim back to neutral position. "Well that should help too, I can fly again." Like her flying Beezle compatriots here, her Booster was normally second nature to her. All bots had some kind of flight where she came from whether magic or their own version of a Booster. Toybox Girl briefly lifted into the air, the booster growling and its green colored flame pushing her up. "Alright, now I think we should consider that this Magus may have been seen. So I want you two to go out and ask everyone you can that is on a road adjacent to this library. With any luck we'll find a real witness to our culprit. You two both have working Radar, so you should easily find us once you have a lead. You'll have to since neither of us have good communication devices and the email on Dataverse is rather slow." "Understood, we'll be off. Caren, I'll go this way." "Take care, Nora."

Caren floated off down the street. She looked about at the streets. It was one thing to have listend to the data dump from TBG but seeing all of this in full view was a sight to behold. The Cosmic Ark had its magic but it was confined to the ladies that brought it to the Ark. Here magic seeped out of everything. Street lights were without wires or attachments, just some wood with a magic fire in their lamps. Books floated in the air and through the air traveling as if with a will of their own while likewise brooms brushed the ground and tables just floated above ground, some holding merchandise they try to pawn off to the local travelers at exaggerated prices no doubt. Caren asked the merchants if they had seen the Dark Mage by his description, but the answers she got were negatives or maybes.

She approached an elderly woman and around her were several children, clearly of different races as one had pointed ears and another green skin. "Hello! Might I ask you guys a question?" "Hey look a talking flying Bee!" "Of course its flying, its a Bee stupid!" The woman turned, the children gawking, hiding, or ignoring the robotic bee, and quickly looked up and down Caren, evaluating her with professionalism. "I suppose it isn't a child to adopt you are looking for. How can I help you?" Implicitly from this unexpected statement, this woman was caring for these children who were most likely children that have been orphaned. Likely to be a common occurrence in a bizarre place like this. "I'm looking for information on a dark mage that goes by the name of Magus. He is known to have pale skin and red eyes and wears a red cape with purple pants and a blue sash. I was hoping you had seen someone matching this description." The lady furrowed her brow. "That doesn't sound 'that' unusual around these parts, but it doesn't ring any bells for me. Children?"

Meanwhile, Nora zipped around. She asked every last passeryby that she could find in quick succession. With the wierdness wearing off on her, she had gone to her normal excitable nature and was perhaps overly energetic as she darted from place to place. She stopped at doors to shops and pubs shouting in what she was looking for and as soon as she got a response she darted off to the next thing or person of interest. Despite her rapidfire motion, her search turned up nothing and she ended up far off the path she had been given to look for people. "Whoops, I think I took a wrong turn somewhere." She started to wander back the way she had come, using her radar to find the others but still she followed the streets rather than fly above the rooftops and got even more lost despite being able to track her own movements by triangulating her position with the signals of everyone around her. "This doesn't seem right..." Soon she found herself taking a tunnel and going down into the sewer system. Giving up on looking for the others for the moment, she browsed the area which surprisingly had people in it.

Toybox Girl looked at Caira. She gestured off towards the guardhouse that she had gotten information from before. "How about we try the guards again? Besides the one we are looking for, the others might help, especially if we could find the officer that was in charge of this before it became a bounty."

The hinting sting of lost memories caressed her thoughts as she recalled her own decimated world. The black meteors. The ravaged planet. The ultimate destruction. Her lost cause. The reality was: There was nothing left in her world to summon. The flinch only lasted a fleeting second as her gaze remained passive and dismissive of the conscious ignominy that crept into the softening soreness of her throat.

Caira examined the beings that the robot has conjured with a marvelous sparkle in her eye. "Wow! Your world must be amazing!" she exclaimed with great regard to the black and yellow creatures that seemed advanced and magical.

A low buzz hummed through the air with a vibrating murmur. The Prime watched them float away with their objectives and listened to TBG's suggestion. In response, Caira marched straight inside the guard headquarters.

As she turned in through the door she was swept aside, brushing noses with a fifty year old mate who wore a startlingly six foot tall hat that dropped and curled at its pointed end. The purplish hat seemed to be hiding a person inside, but she couldn't be sure.

"Oh! Excuse me miss! I'm Thomas Morel." he stated as though his name were enough to capture his heart. In response she only stared blandly at him, as her eyes grew fixated on his hat.

"Oh, I guess I was just wondering what that is on your head?" Caira thought it was polite to explain in case he assumed she was condemning his abstractly topped head.

Thomas didn't appreciate her preference of intrigue, nor how it disregarded him as a focal point however with a glimmer in his eye he explained what was on his mind. "I'm the man who was just about to invent an immortality potion for my king, when I was plucked from my home and brought here. No, I'm not a Prime but I had diligently committed my life to my work."

The girl failed to see the point in his confrontation with her and was growing increasingly weary as she felt the time crunching away in her thoughts. She phrased indelicately to the wizard, "Isn't something like that kind of pointless here?"

"Oh not so, not so! For you see there are plenty of Secondaries and speaking serpents who offer me a fair price for it."

"Well.. I'm not a Secondary so I guess I won't be needing it.. No offense but there really isn't much evidence to prove something like that really works here." Caira pointed out and wasn't sure the business this wizard had in the guard office. The relevance of their conversation had drifted from vague to worse as she began to step away from him.

"THAT ISN'T THE- point... Ehem. That's not the point. The point is, if you'll just come with me..." The wizard's face had spasmed with outrage against the hard-headed Prime, so he went to his last resort.

What a strange man. Now he wants to take me somewhere. Still.. I can't help but feeling as though there is something important hidden under that hat. The idea occurred to her that she could decapitate the link between the wizard's head, but with his anger coated words she asked simply, "Is there a problem?"

The temperamental wizard's eyes bulged dramatically at her stubbornness. As though he had spelled out his point so easily, he thought to himself 'Is this girl thick?' and with her evasive remarks he suddenly grabbed the Prime's forearm and launched off at a high speed, dragging her with some failing protest as they traveled deeper into the guard station. In the scramble Caira had grabbed TBG's arm too.

"HEY LAY OFF 'EM TOM!" someone shouted from behind.

Suddenly they stopped and a door shut them into a room. The two Prime's were trapped, enclosed in a fancy office with the mysterious wizard, "I'm Thomas Morel. I'm in charge of maintaining Dalaran's safety. Expert wizard and castor, pleasure to meet you."

Is this guy insane?! "Hm, why didn't you say so?" Caira asked the man who now seemed to be fishing for something stored in the long stretch of his hat.

"Well as much as we want the Prime who caused us trouble to be caught- Ah-ha!" he began before interrupting his own sentence with a shriek of joy. He had found what he was searching for and a shoe appeared from the hat. No, not a shoe.. A leg. Definitely a leg. That leg turned out to be a person and just so happened was the same small wizard guard in silver armor that had disappeared into a puff of green smoke from earlier. Immediately Caira's shoulders sharpened and her body language became a blitz, active and ready to charge at wisps of smoke. Thomas continued his sentence, "We don't really want Dalaran to be targeted even if it is to capture the very fugitive we exiled."

"Not sure I see one-hundred percent of your logic there, but I guess Prime's are capable of anything. So where is he?" her voice coaxed. It wasn't a question, but a hidden demand.

"I saw the whole thing," Thomas announced as his short wizard friend remained at his side, "The great Prime easily battled near twenty men before fleeing off the island, south, toward Minas Tirith. Where he is truly headed we do not know, but I would ask the citizens of the capital if they saw his Pegasus fly overhead."

"Why didn't you just say so?" she asked the shorter wizard, hoping for mor details.

"Listen, you are dealing with a very powerful Prime. Sure there are two of you but this man had an energy.. Yes, he's very tenacious indeed. A truly formidable adversary. I believe him to be a mage as well, Dalaran cannot be held accountable for the fate of two Prime's that happen to pursue him."

"Don't insult us," Caira growled from her pride, "I'll have you I know, on my planet I-"

The wizard interrupted her, "It does not matter what you did on your planet. Your fate is bound here now. And here in the Omniverse you will remain."

Caira's eyes dampened with his reasoning, "Alright sir, you have provided us with more than enough advice, your expertise will aid us in our battle to find him. We thank you." Caira declined any further conversation and began to leave the office. Yet trailing the two Primes as they exited and began to mount their transport was the little wizard, who dawdled at their feet.

"Hey! Don't forget me," he huffed and panted as though the short distance for them was twice that on his little legs.

"Hmm, wonder where those helper bees are," she turned as the wizard hobbled over to her with his staff in hand. Caira's gaze moved downward at him, "Hm? You're coming with us too, little man?"

"I wouldn't miss this for the world!" The little robust wizard exhaled, "Thomas doesn't leave Dalaran much, puts it at risk. Plus, I'd like to see you safely to Minas Tirith, not that you would miss a giant stone city, but my tracking magic is unbeatable. Hopefully we will be able to find out what level he is on and save you some time as we travel to the capital of Camelot- Minas Tirith!"

While Toybox Girl stuck with Caira, the two Beezle found their own ways back. Caren found some information about people that had seen the fiendlord but her information only ironed out the description. The various people around couldn't provide her with more solid details, other than that Magus was seen having jumped off the edge of the island. She buzzed back to the pair who were now joined by a wizard guide, but it seems that they had already gathered that much information, that Magus had fled the city and more with knowing that he had gone towards the capital of Camelot where King Aragorn's throne stood.

Nora however, got more interesting information. She wandered through the sewers and the farther she got, the shadier it was. Despite the place, she started asking about Magus. After people quickly moved away upon her asking, one goblin in leather armor appeared silently behind her from the shadows."So you want to know about that recent renegade wizard do ya? Well, it'll cost you." Nora looked down, castfallen. "I don't think I have anything... wait." Nora opened up a compartment and pulled out some CS, the currency of the Cosmic Arc. It was only change though, with a 100 piece, five 50s, and 3 10s. "This is all that I have." The goblin took the coins and bit each one. He wasn't exactly sure what they were worth, but the metal was solid. "How about you throw in your wepaons and I'll tell you what I know?" If she could frown, she would. But from the information exchange with Toybox Girl earlier she knew that she could summon her new weapons. "Okay okay, just tell me already!" The goblin held out his hands and she handed him the weapons. He was a rogue and a part of an underground intelligence network. While he might not care so much to cross the people the information was from, he was a business man. "My sources say you should look for the People's Army if you want to find this Dark Mage of yours." Without blinking an eye, the goblin vanished back into the shadows.

The others waited, and Nora finally made her way out of the sewers and to the group. "A goblin told me that to find Magus we need to look for the People's Army. I hope that helps, I don't know if they even exist.." Thomas Morel nodded. "Well, that does help things! But that is trouble too, The People's Army are a group of rebels against the government. That is all fine and good, except they are a shady bunch and go through any means to bolster their position. We might be in for a hard time if he has a lot of influence, but I would think we'd know about it if a Prime had entered their ranks. Well come on ladies! Since we have an idea of where he could be at, let's take my ride!"

Thomas led the group to the take off platform in Dalaran where the Flight Master stood, next to the stables. As they approached, some goblins seemed to be tinkering with some crazy contraption. a very large magic carpet with three rocket engines attached to it. Sitting on top of the carpet were cushioned seats. "There's my beauty! The Magic Carpet 9000 XL! With its powerful engines we should get there in no time!" Toybox Girl looked at Caira, unsure of their 'ride' but they were already too far into this to back down now. They all boarded the crazy thing. Toybox Girl summoned a new Beam Gun and Cutter for Nora to hold onto while take off preparations were made.

Each of the rocket engines started to come online and spit out a little flame. "Systems check. Rocket 1, check. Rocket 2, check. Rocket 3...." The goblin hit the third rocket engine a couple times with his wrench, which then started to make its flame as well. "Check. Everything's good to go sir. Take off in 10..." As the goblin counted down, "How are we supposed to actually stay on this thing without any seatbelts?" "It's Magic!" "I hope this thing gets us there in one piece." "Can't we fly there ourselves?" "2... 1... Blast Off!" The rockets roared and Thomas took the controls in the front. The group was off to Minas Tirith!
