Arriving at Dalaran
#1
Asriel and the griffin eventually saw a floating island in the distance: Dalaran. Then, an gray-bearded human wizard in robes of vermillion red flew right up to him.

"Hello, child." he said. "You must be flying to Dalaran, correct?"

"Yes, I am." Asriel said matter of factly.

The wizard said he has the job of guiding many new arrivals to the landing bay in Dalaran. They made their way to the landing bay and Asriel returned the griffin into the form of that sweet, sweet rainbow drank, Omnilium. The guide told Asriel of a school that might accept him.

Asriel thanked him and went off to try to find the school. After he joined, he would try to find the man he met earlier.

As the wizard in brilliant scarlet robes disappeared from his sight, Asriel found himself swept up by the hustle and bustle of one of Dalaran's busiest districts. While he had expected a lot of activity characteristic of any city, the sheer volume of color, sound, and energy was enough to slow his progress, at least for a moment.

Mages clad in rippling, luxuriant robes conversed under the sheltered arches that were layered over the streets, obviously constructed for the convenience of travel. Some of them held staffs, wands, or even the occasional magically-imbued sword, all of different make and strength. Individual words were impossible to pick out over the rabble; it was like sitting on a tree branch with an entire flock of birds singing and chittering all around, sweetly musical and cacophonous all at once.

The goat-child was startled by the appearance of a cart stacked with several dozen iron-barred cages, each one occupied by a single orb. These orbs rippled with a mysterious and distinctly-colored light, drifting within and emitting discordant shrieks from time to time; the young mage pushing the cart was wearing a pair of earplugs to counteract the noise.

Just as the cart trundled past, Asriel caught sight of a sign posted on the far side of the street across from him, the words printed in a fanciful, curling script.

To the High Council, it read, an arrow pointing towards an impressively tall tower in the distance. Figures both humanoid and not drifted toward this building like moths drawn to a flame, plumes of green, blue, and fantastic, energizing purple swirling out from the windows all the while— magical experiments gone rogue, to all appearances.

It seemed to be the way to go, if Asriel was ever going to find a teacher in the magical arts.

The goat boy walked to the Council, hoping to find a master. The building's interior had a tiled floor and vermillion green walls.
