Kill the Numbers (Ashen DD)
#81
Thanks. I'll insert myself as soon as the new round begins so that there isn't any problems.
#82
I sent the update to Nebula. Should be good soon, probably by tomorrow.

My schedule is a lot less busy this week in terms of work (and other activities) so I'm available to write little updates if you need me to. As we wind closer to a finale, I'd like to be as involved as you guys need me to be.

Thanks. I'll probably post now since I sent Nebula a PM for Syn Shenron's profile in the Dark Data thing and since the new round had begun.

Couple questions.

- Are there other creatures in Nebby Space with us?

- According to the rules our SP is put into an "Order Points" pool, is this pool created with our max SP or with our current SP?

- Do I still have all the Dark Chips given to me?

- I'm assuming my food pills have worn out by now, is that indeed the case?

-Yea, basically anything you'd find in the Ashen Steppes by more mutated by darkness to be bigger and/or scarier. Things like fiery imps or Wyverns.

-We'll say Max SP. For those who didn't read the rules on this, basically everyone's Max SP is added together and you all share from that pool (known as Order Points). This means one person could use more of the Order Points then they might normally be able to. I'm too tired to do the math now but we'll get an official number up of how many we have tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.

-Yes, as far as I know in the rules, Dark Chips are still good here

-Yea, its been awhile since you took those pillz.

For the sake of everyone else Kuzuru is pretty much experiencing the worst migraine of his life. He'll be irritable, but also pretty groggy and incoherent at times.

Made a quick 1-word edit to my DD post. If anyone (namely Summer) needs/wants it and can't find it, I've got a copy here:
"W-water?" Ebony yawned, trying to blink some of the moisture out of her eyes. "Why?"

Summer began to crouch, slowly releasing her legs and lowering her to the ground. With tired strength, she hung on, dangling slightly in the air. Sonny spoke cheerfully, although a small hint of fatigue was layered over his voice. Not that one such as him would use Ebony as an excuse to laze around. "Just humour me for a minute, I have an idea."

"Y-yeah. I can." She mumbled into his back, her mind not quite following his lead in its sleepy state. Reaching Ebony's hands, Summer gently pried them apart, crouching down further until her feet met the ground. Her legs bent as she slumped, still leaning against him.

Turning around in her feeble attempt at a death grip, Summer moved her hands off him, clasping them carefully between the duo. He squeezed them lightly through her fingerless gloves, her hands clenched slightly around his and the motion served its purpose of waking her up slightly - at least making her more alert and aware of her surroundings. "Why don't you try and fill this hole?"

"O-oh. I... I get it now." Ebony reluctantly let go of his hands, moving to sit on the side of the rocky basin, her legs dangling in. Her mind hadn't really considered what was actually going to happen, besides her getting to soak in warm water. "Should I try and make the water hot?"

"If you can, yes." He smiled, filling Ebony with a warmth despite the cold that lingered from her prior physical contact with him. She felt useful, appreciated, and that was a nice feeling. Being dead weight didn't sit well with her, and that seemingly being her designated position in this world was one of the many reasons she wanted to leave. With that lingering feeling lost, at least for a while, Ebony was free to smile back.

"Wait... I dunno. That might cost you extra, Mister Sonny." Ebony grinned, waking up a bit more and trying to make a more comedic comment.

Summer raised an eyebrow, speaking quizzically. "What kind of 'extra'?"

She hadn't thought that far. "Umm..." She blinked, continuing on an impulse. "You have to be my friend."

Two voices fought for dominance as they both tried to laugh with the same mouth. Summer shook his head, forcing them to subside, as Sonny spoke. "What? Am I selling myself into slavery now or something?"

"Yup."

Ebony fiddled with her boots, undoing the many, many, straps. Despite how they looked, all of the buckles were actually functional. At least there would never be the damage of them falling off. Taking them off along with her thick black socks, she placed them by the side of the soon-to-be hot spring, letting her bare feet bounce against the rocky ledge she'd sat down on. The rocky hole was fairly deep. Not as deep as Ebony was tall, but if she sat down on one of the layers inside, her head would just poke above the outer rim. The rock itself was sleek and black and appeared to actually be fairly clean, not having been weathered much. It was perfect for Sonny's intended purpose.

She mumbled under her breath, not putting as much care into the words as she usually did; almost immediately a fine stream of water started flowing out of the first-finger on her right hand. Even as the one creating it, it felt very warm. Small amounts of steam even started to rise from it. Not quite hot enough to burn or scald someone. But hot nonetheless. Except it was too slow. At this rate, it'd be hours before the pool was a usable level.

Shaking her hand, she mumbled again, trying to speed up the process. She could feel her magic flowing inside her, but for some reason, it wasn't bending to her will. Not uncommon, but this wasn't about her. She'd taken on a task for Sonny, and she was going to complete it to the best of her efforts. Regardless of her demands, the flow stopped completely. Leaving only a small puddle - enough to warm her feet should she fall off the edge and hop in. That wasn't good enough.

Ebony examined her palm, playing with the fingers slightly. Wait... my gloves. She shook her head, finding first-hand how out of it she was. Her gloves had stopped the water coming out fully. Slightly flustered, and all too aware the man had been watching her from behind her back, she pulled off the fabric around her left hand and tossed it by her boots, then began to do the same to the right.

The second the last glove left her skin, warm water rocketed out of her palm, flying straight over her shoulder and out of her sight. She yelped, not expecting her magic to have built up that much and quickly clenched her hand into a fist, halting the flow. Suppressed coughing and spluttering met her ears as a result of the accidental blast of water. Yelping again in surprise, she turned around quickly to see Summer drenched in water. His clothes sagged and his hair fell down, plastered to his face.

Her eyes widened in shock. "Sorry! Sorry sorry sorry. I didn't mean to. It was an-"

A hand waved in front of Ebony's face, silencing her as the man shook his head. A magical breeze pushed against him, ruffling and drying his hair somewhat. "Don't worry about it, I'll be getting wet again soon, anyway."

"B-but, your clothes-"

"Will dry, yes." Again spoken with his omnipresent sunny tone before crouching down and sitting next to her - taking off his coat as he did so.

Ebony relaxed her fist, allowing the torrent of water to follow. Summer placed a hand on her shoulder, supporting her from the recoil. From Ebony's perspective, it didn't feel like long for the water level to eventually rise up to her toes, then the middle of her shins, and finally a few inches away from the top.

The... situation had finally dawned on her. She'd have to take off her clothes. Summer would take off his clothes. She and Sonny and Summer would be alone, naked, together, in an artificial hot spring by the side of a mountain. Heat rose to her face from the delayed revelation and the now steamy air. The sound of clothing rustling prompted her to turn her head. It was times like these where Ebony was glad for her long hair. It provided something to hide behind even when her hood was down.

Although both residents of the body could probably still see her blush through the black mess of locks, there would be a slight mystery as to where her eyes were looking. The answer to that was the floor. Definitely the floor. "W-w-w-w-what are y-y-you d-doing?"

That question had a fairly obvious answer. Summer was taking off his shirt, and now he was looking at her with slight amusement.

"G-g-go b-behind..." Ebony looked about the area, quickly pointing out a finger in one direction to emphasise her point. "That r-rock." She paused, briefly thinking. "A-and don't come out until I s-say so. And n-n-no p-peaking." Her arms crossed themselves across her chest.

"Hey, I wanna rest a bit too," Sonny complained. Despite his statement, he offered no further resistance, opting to pick himself up and follow her demands.

Ebony's eyes followed him from under her hair, stalking his movements until she was sure he was gone. Her clothes eventually found themselves neatly folded up in a small pile next to her boots, all of them then wrapped up in the interior of her cloak and moved far enough away from the water to avoid any risk of getting splashed.

She shivered, giving a quick glance around the area once again before slowly stepping down into the water. Sighing, she leant down against the far wall, her back facing the direction Summer left. Hot mist filled the air, making it hard to see in too much detail.

"Y-you can come in now. B-but no l-l-looking," Ebony called out over her shoulder, quickly snapping her head back forwards after speaking.

While still nervous, her body didn't care. It slumped and relaxed in the warm liquid - the only things visible above the water level was the top of her head, her nose sitting just above the surface. She breathed out through her mouth, blowing bubbles in slight amusement.

Do Dataverse Devices work in Nebby Space?

I don't think they do.
#90
I'm gonna say no, but maybe it'd be cool to have them partially work so you can get some static-coded words? I dunno. Make it fun.

(I don't wanna switch accounts while I'm roleplaying >_>)

forgot to mention but Miranda is currently in her second alt form

ATK: 5 (7)
DEF: 1 (2)
SPD: 1 (3)
TEC: 5

So, I missed the portal to Nebula Space. I am surrounded by gremlins of Darklings? Can I have a post of being attacked by these Darklings if they are there to get my inspirational fire going?

Yo for the sake of consistency I think it would be prudent for everyone in Nebby space to post their signature weapons and moves so that we don't accidently use an unavailable move.

Kuzu's are

Demon Blades (300) (Requires Physical Strength)
Being a demon of battle Kuzuru is able to sprout blades from his body. These blades are around four feet long and remain attached to his skin. They can sprout from anywhere and take only a few seconds to form, but they cannot form if something is actively covering them (i.e. if he is grappled or wrapped in something like a tight net he cannot create blades underneath the grappler or net to cut them). He can create a maximum of four blades at a time, and they must be reabsorbed into his body before he can create them in different locations, the reabsorption is about as fast as summoning them. There are two types of blades he can create curved and straight. Curved blades are better at slashing and straight blades are better at stabbing. They are generally weaker than equivalent swords and can shatter if put under too much duress.
Demon Guillotine (300) (Requires Physical Strength)
After a few seconds a thick and heavy blade sprouts from one of Kuzuru’s forearms. It runs from elbow to wrist and juts outwards about four inches. The guillotine is quite heavy and is cumbersome to wield. The weight forces his arm to hang limp at his side and only through slow telegraphed movements can he swing the weapon with any force. Despite the downsides should he manage to score a solid hit with the guillotine   the results would be devastating. It takes only a few moments to desummon the blade, but while it is active he is unable to use his “Demon Blades” move.
Syn's Sigs are

Negative Finger Beam (300 OM, requires Ranged)

Syn Shenron launches a small, but very quick beam of black Ki from his finger at the opponent to try to quickly attack them. Charging and firing the Negative Finger Beam only takes a single second, and while the beam only deals a low amount of damage, the beam moves as fast as a bullet and lasts until it hits something or reaches maximum range, and can be used in a very quick succession on the opponent. The beam is only a inch in width, lasts for up until the beam hits something, and can travel as far as 100 feet before dissipating. Syn Shenron can move and use any non-attacking move while using the Negative Finger Beam, and using the beam only costs a low amount of stamina and requires only a bit of concentration.

and

Mystic Breath (300 OM, requires Ranged)

Syn Shenron holds his breath for a few seconds, before blowing out a thin but powerful stream of air to try to blow black a ranged attack from an opponent. Charging up the Mystic Breath takes around 3 seconds, and once the Mystic Breath is launched, it will launch a 2 inch stream of wind at any ranged move coming at Syn's way for 5 seconds, being able to blow the attack away depending on the user's DEF vs the opponent's ATK, with a higher DEF meaning being able to more easily blow the attack away. The stream of air can only go up to 100 feet and cannot blow away any further ranged attacks, and after using the move Syn will be a bit winded and tired from blowing such a powerful stream of wind. Syn will be able to move while charging and using the Mystic Breath, but will be unable to use other moves while charging due to needing a bit of focus to hold such a breath, and in addition Syn will need a bit of concentration to focus on the ranged attack before blowing at it.

Summer:

Signature Weapon
Bullwhip (Physical) (600) (Both):
A recreation of the weapon given to Summer during the Hero's Graveyard. It is a 10 foot long, 12 plait, kangaroo hide whip. While not one of the strongest weapons out there, with a well-aimed hit, it’s capable of wrapping around an object or person, allowing the wielder to drag it to them, or vice-versa. His ATK needs to be higher than the enemy's in order to drag them in, and at least twice as high for him to do it easily. For some unknown reason, it plays the theme song to "Indiana Jones" whenever it's cracked.
Signature Move
Lightning Strike (Physical) (300) (Summer):
By channeling the power of a lightning strike through one of his limbs, Summer can unleash an incredibly powerful strike, carrying both the speed and strength of lightning. Without any windup, he unleashes a blow towards the enemy in the form of either a kick or a punch, striking faster than the blink of an eye with a shot that, if it lands, hits with enough force to send opponents flying back a few meters. Dealing with such extreme forces comes at a cost, however. A successful punch fractures the bones in Summer’s hand, and possibly his arm as well if he’s unlucky, while a successful kick fractures, or possibly even outright breaks his leg. Though he can continue to strike even after he’s broken many bones, overdoing it with the same limb causes larger breaks, and eventually an unplanned amputation. Channeling the power takes around three seconds, which he can do while moving, but attacking or getting hit breaks his concentration, and must be used the moment it’s ready. Has a surprisingly low magic cost, leaving Summer simply winded and wounded after use.
OR

High Pressure System (Ranged, Ranged Materialize, Area Shield, Buff) (600) (Sonny):
As the same spirit of weather that his other half is, Sonny isn’t any sturdier than Summer. His resilience instead comes from the half of their split power he was left with, dispersion and destruction. He is naturally enveloped in a warm, glowing aura that softens oncoming blows (this is simply represented through his DEF, just being a fancy way to describe it.) This aura can be channeled even further, however, granting him something a bit tougher than his standard defense. By slightly increasing the strength of his aura over the course of 5 seconds, a process he must remain totally still for, it becomes just powerful enough to deflect attacks that would otherwise have been glancing blows, allowing him to take less needless damage. However, this doesn’t affect direct hits in the least. If it hits him straight on, he’s still taking the full force of it. This increased defense, though not incredibly taxing to maintain, is something he’s only capable of sustaining it for around a minute at a time, and leaves him unable to use other magic while he is concentrating on it. He is, however, able to move about, strike, and defend freely during this time, only his spell use is hindered.

Alternatively, he’s capable of granting this aura to an ally for a short time. Sonny concentrates for 10 seconds, slowly enveloping a chosen ally within 10 meters of him in a self-sustaining, miniaturized high pressure system. Both of them must remain still for this to work. This system looks and acts exactly like his own natural dispersion aura, being a defense that works through deflecting glancing damage and keeping needless hurt down, while doing nothing to direct hits. Despite being a boon, the spell is crafted more like a curse, as it feeds off the energy of the person it is attached to rather than Sonny’s energy, though it drains their energy at twice the rate, only allowing them to maintain it for about half a minute. There is a slight tweak to the curse-like nature of the spell which allows the shielded person to break it when they want, however, preventing him from wearing out allies too much, but also preventing him from placing it on an enemy and drain their energy without a fight. However, unlike Sonny's own version, which he must maintain, this version of the aura is a passive spell, and allies who are granted it aren't hindered, being able to fight, use spells and powers, and in general do everything they could do as if they didn't have it.
Depending on whether Summer or Sonny is active. They can't use each other's moves >.>
If Summer's active, Lightning Strike is the sig and High Pressure System doesn't exist.
If Sonny's active, High Pressure System is the sig and Lightning Strike doesn't exist.

If you want back in, then I'll use Nebula to give you something saga-related to do. If you don't want back in, then I'll use Storyteller to give you something to do outside of the saga. No offense intended, but I don't want to do a half-way thing where maybe you're in, maybe you're out. You gotta decide if you can commit or not.

I'm up for helping you write either way, though!

Eb is trying to knock out supports to make the roof fall (by Summer/Sonny's orders).

I presume the intent is mostly to have an open sky, rather than cause a "rocks fall, you die" sorta thing.

Anyway, how strong is the roof, Blink? Is it likely to fall quickly? Or more towards the end of mine or Summer's second posts? Or is it something you'd rather have written at the end of the encounter and posted by Nebula?

I'd assume we're fine as long as we don't write any of the minions off as instantly dying or something, but I just wanna check.

Well, it's the top cavern in a mountain so I guess it wouldn't be super difficult to break with the right amount of firepower? Maybe some lava comes down, since it's kind of a volcano? I dunno, I'm no geologist. It's Nebula space, do whatever.

If it's cool, then I'm up for it.

Oh, sorry if I've been unclear of exactly what I'm talking about. I am definitely out of Dark Data. What I am basically asking is if there are leagues of little gremlin men surrounding Dawn after the portal closed. That is what I collected from the Nebula post, that there were Darklings left after the portal closed. If you would help me with a storyteller post, I would most certainly love that.
