If I wanted to play a Shiny Umbeon that I've evolved myself in my game of Pokemon X and Y, is that an OC or Cannon secondary claim?



Also, while I have you here, I thought there was a proficiency or power for the Astral Realm, but I've looked in both sections of the rules like 10 times now and can't find it again. Did it move? Did it get removed? Am I just missing it in my panic? =\ I checked updates but nothing there about it. I feel like I missed it somewhere..

The Astral Realm "proficiency" is under items.

Not sure about whether it'd be classed as an OC or not though. I'd assume, if you're not playing a specific Umbreon from canon it's probably an OC in OV terms - but I'd wait for someone who can confirm.

They're listed under Items in the Rules and count as 'Unlocks' on your Roster.

As for your first question, I'm inclined to say that stuff like Pokemon or Digimon fall under OCs, unless you're like "I want to have Ash's Pikachu as an NPC" or "I want Gary's Blastoise," in which case it's a specific character and not just something invented for the OV.

I believe under NPCs in the rules it specifies that if it's not a specific incarnation of a Pokemon from an official canon (such as the anime), it counts as an OC. They use a Rayquaza as an example.
