Stop Off
#1
Hitting the ground running was a lot harder than most people gave it credit for. Especially when you hit the ground running only about three paces before barging through a shimmering wall of portal that left you feeling like the world went topsy-turvy for just a little bit more than 'too long'. It was enough to send Graowr sprawling and reeling, leading to a comical faceplant and ungainly flip back forward onto her feet. She shook her head to clear the momentary teleportation wooziness and was off running again.

A quick stop in at the check-in station to register her arrival, and she was off for her destination. Luckily she'd been given directions to follow, so it wasn't just a blind search. All the same, it took far too long for her to actually find her destination. It was a little confusing to figure out how it all worked, but with a little instruction and checking the email that had sent her here, she got it all figured out. And soon enough, she was in possession of...wow, that was kind of a lot of omnilium.

Not only a lot of omnilium, but her other prizes. There was a kind of...gaudy looking belt (which a helpful note identified as the grand champion's belt, for winning the event), and another item. Some sort of...mask, or visor. It had an unsettling look to it, but the note said it was an artefact, and another prize to go along with winning the competition. There was a description of what it did, which she read over carefully, before looking the thing over more carefully. It sure had an odd look to it. It sent an unpleasant tingle through her hands when she picked it up, as if she'd been shocked. Unpleasant images crawled around the edges of her mind, making her narrow her eyes in concentration. There was something...something off about this thing. It was like... Like something she should've recognized from somewhere, or something, but...

Oh, well. No sense dwelling on it. All of her prizes were swiped and absorbed in one fell swoop, stored more or less safely away within the gooey confines of her body. And with that, her business here was done. She turned and left, quickly breaking into a jog. Spooky mask or no, it was bound to come in handy if she ever got in a tight spot somewhere down the line, and that was good enough for her!

It didn't take long at all — barely even a minute, in fact — for her energy to run out on her and her mind to go blank. Her course of action had gotten lost somewhere among her confusion as to the nature of her prizes from winning Dante's Abyss, and now she was more than a little clueless as to what she was going to do next. Something...something about going to meet up with someone?

Her slowed pace left her to wander about aimlessly until she found a bench to sit down on, whereupon she set to fiddling with her scouter. A dataverse connection was pulled up, and she went to work poking through what she had been up to before coming back to Coruscant. She remembered doing something, and having a distinct, clear plan of action in mind before she'd come back here and gotten distracted, so it shouldn't be hard to track down. Even with her still (relative) unfamiliarity with something as technologically advanced as the dataverse. Luckily, it was simplistic enough for even someone like her to grasp it all readily, and she was a quick learner. An alarmingly quick learner, some had said. Every instructor and teacher she'd ever had had said the same thing. Like a sponge to water, was she to new information. Or was it a fish to water? Simile or metaphor or whatever that was supposed to be still eluded her total understanding from time to time.

Her meandering through her recent perusing of the dataverse lead her to some messages she'd made on Omnitwitter about meeting up with God Enel and the others from Dante's Abyss. Cell, Archer, Batman... She really did owe them a lot, for what they'd done at the end. Without any one of them, she probably wouldn't have been able to win. Probably wouldn't have even been able to get to the old sage at the end to have a chance at winning. Just like back home, that way...in the end she'd needed a lot of help to manage to save the day. Some things just never changed, no matter where you went, looked like.

Regardless of all that, she now knew where she'd been going to. The Town With no Name, in the Endless Dunes. Some quick searching lead her to getting an idea of where that might be. Along with the surprising revelation that there was a gate to the Endless Dunes right here in Coruscant. That would sure cut down on the travel time pretty significantly! Wouldn't even have to cut through the Nexus!

Her search through the dataverse in search of directions, aimless as it was, had turned up several other things which were of tenuous connection, but caught her interest all the same. Something or other about...an invitation? It looked like it was from one of the participants in Dante's Abyss this year. She bookmarked it for later reading in more detail, turning her attention to something else which definitely had her attention and interest: a bounty list. There were...a lot of them. All wanted dead or alive, or even banished. She didn't know what that last one meant, but it sounded pretty bad. It seemed like something she'd heard of somewhere, maybe in passing, but...she couldn't place where. Or what it was all about. The more important thing, though, was some of the names she was seeing on the bounty list, and where they were issued from.

This was...this was going to definitely be something she'd have to keep in mind. It was just the sort of thing she lived for, and that could really let her do something useful when she was waiting for an actual mission to come her way. Plus...some of them had the star pieces she was supposed to be looking for, too! That would be like...killing a whole flock of birds with one stone, or something! She bookmarked it also, for checking into later on, and hopped up to her feet. Alright, now she had a bunch of things to look forward to.

She closed her eyes, setting her mind to a task. She was in a hurry now, and needed to move faster than she could on foot, or even via flying. She had never been very good at driving or even handling most vehicles, but...well, they were fast. She'd seen how quick they could get around here in the Omniverse. A heck of a lot quicker than she could. And if it was something simple, like something she'd only heard about back home...

Minutes passed. Hesitantly, she cracked one eye open, and then both opened fully to see the last wisps of omnilium fading away around the form of what she'd summoned. A cloud, of soft blue in color, hovering just a foot or so off the ground. It wasn't quite right, as she looked at it...definitely not the Flying Nimbus. But then again, she hadn't been trying to summon it, exactly. That just wouldn't be right. It wasn't hers, even to make as a copy. But an imitation of it (and in her favorite color no less!) should be alright. A nod to herself, and she hopped up, alighting on the fluffy little mess of cloudstuff. It had some give to it, and she sank partially into it, losing her balance and ending up needing to flop down into a sitting posture to avoid toppling off completely.

"Ahaha! Awesome, I got it right!"

With her means of transport secured, she pulled the dataverse up again, checking over the directions again and taking great pains to very carefully program them into her map before setting out.
