Patch Notes
Further clarification on the nitty-gritty of how fusion works. If anyone in the ongoing fight has any issue with this whatsoever let me know, I have no intention of unbalancing things. This shouldn't really affect much and it's really just clarification for the future before questions gotta be asked.

Quote:Fusion lets two or more characters combine their bodies into one to create a new character with amazing power. This new character has the combined stats of its constituent characters (including a character's active transformations), all of their powers and moves, and access to all of their remaining SP. When fusing, you must specify which character or characters the SP is coming from (the cost may be shared, but you must specify how). The same rules apply for any character transformations or super moves used while in the fused state – regardless of their owner, they may be paid for by any character.

For all intents and purposes during a fight, a fused character acts as a single character, though each player still has their own post/word limit for the round. For writing purposes, if any of the characters are injured when they fuse, the overall injured state of the fused character will be an average of the injuries (for example, if one character has a broken arm and the other is completely healthy, the fused character may have somewhat fractured arm). Damage points applied to the fused character during the fused state will be applied wholly to each character upon de-fusing (or 'multiplied', in effect).
IC posts can now be self-edited but will require a moderator to approve the changes. We can see posts awaiting approval so there's no need to let us know. This should be easier than requesting the changes through the help desk and allow me to use that help desk topic for its original purpose again Tongue
Vita Compass rules clarified:

Need  to find someone? A Vita Compass will always point you in the right
direction, regardless of where you are in the Omniverse. It will also
tell you if you are in the same Verse as them or not. If you're not, it
will point you to the gate to that verse. Invaluable for bounty hunters
and artefact lovers. A Vita Compass will only work if you have met the
person before at some point in the Omniverse (before or after acquiring the Vita Compass, you must have been in close contact within a few meters), and is not accurate
enough to work at close ranges – once you're in the general vicinity,
you'll have to search.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
Added to How3Join and Changing Characters:

Important: Did your character's source come out within the last year, or is it the current 'big thing'? If so, chances are you're feeling more attached to that character than you will in a six month's time. We won't stop you, just give it some thought.

With the hopes that this reduces novelty-characters by even as much as 1%.

I'm not gonna go through and edit everyone's roster to make the powers format be like, (2000/8000), but I have added a /8000 to the blank roster sheet for the future. This is to remind people of their powers cap, which is super easy to forget otherwise. I'm going to add it to my own characters.

In lieu of many of our staff going on hiatus or being otherwise indisposed, we've made some changes to our team in order to best maximize the resources at our disposal.

Effective now, Ken (Yu Kanda) and Mark are Angels and will assist with Move Approval backlog and join apps.

Because they were our entire Cherub Team, Jade Harley and Demetri have been bumped up to Cherubs to assist with OM edits.

Strazio, Luffy, Jacob, Ruby and Link are all on hiatus of some sort (either pre-arranged or 'vanishment' hiatus). We imagine that most of them will be back at some point but can't be sure when.

That said, we are looking for at least one new Sprite to help out, particularly with judgment and grading for quests and other stories. If you're interested, please PM me and CC Omni.
An artefact quest has been added to the Pale Moors - http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=21
To ensure we have enough souls bodies to keep things running somewhat smoothly (as people tend to go on hiatus over summer), Tartaros has joined our team as a Sprite.  Spur (Zack Fair) has also joined up as a Cherub.
Ballad/Sans has also become a Sprite.

If anyone else is interested in helping out in the future, feel free to send a PM. Make sure you CC Omni as well.
The mechanics for Death have been updated - http://omniverse-rpg.com/deathandbanishm...Banishment
Pardon the delay, but I've released a content patch for the Ashen Steppes to reflect player events over the Spring and early summer: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=23

Highlights:
  • Volvagia is banished and his Roster page was removed (for the time being? who knows)
  • The 'central peak' of Death Mountain collapsed in the aftermath of all the battles.  It's no longer a visible landmark and dominating feature of the Ashen 'skyline'
  • The Goron Village was devastated in the final battle and (effectively) exists no longer.
  • The surviving gorons are now referred to as 'the Goron Tribe' and are nomads who travel from place to place in the verse
  • Darunia, despite being troubled by how his own actions (and inactions, as Nealaphh would tell you) helped lead to the carnage, leads the survivors of his people.  His Roster page (a link can be found in the Ashen Steppes Info page linked above) has been updated to be up-to-date (I even removed all the instances of the verse's old name =p)
  • The quest 'Ashen Lullaby' has been edited to reflect the changes to Death Mountain and the Goron village (the core of the quest remains unchanged).  This quest is now Repeatable.
  • A second repeatable quest 'The Ashen Walk' has been added that allows people a quest to become an accepted member of the Goron Tribe.  This quest may only be completed once every 3 months.
The Factions Page (http://omniverse-rpg.com/factions.php#Factions) has been updated. There's an OVD thread with additional details.
This may have only been an issue bothering me and a few of the more neurotic members of the website, but I've changed it so that Saved Draft Posts and Threads will no longer spew out C-Box notifications, filling everyone present with fake hope.
Mostly a cosmetic modification as well as a fix up of another page filled with deceased links.

The Staff Page (http://omniverse-rpg.com/thestaff.php#The_Staff) of the Rules has been modified. It lists Omni and the Archangel, as well as brief description of the rest of the staff and a link to the already existing Sticky in the Roster forum that details the different duties of Staffers (http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=3435).

The Staff bios that populated that page of the Rules last year will now be presented in that thread and feature all current Staff members.
This has always been an unofficial thing, but I'll make a post formalizing it and make sure it's included into future Accolade threads.

"As part of being voted as a Community Star/User of the Month (I use the terms interchangeable mainly because Community Star is less formal-sounding than User of the Month), these members gain a color (you must select this in your User CP) and access to the Community Stars R&D forum. In the past this was my pseudo-private forum, but I changed the name so people are aware they can use it if they please. I do a lot of brainstorming in there and pre-planning for stuff. Stars are welcome to share their thoughts and their own ideas if they desire. Or don't -- it's optional.

Community Stars R&D - http://omniverse-rpg.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=36 (Note this will only work if you're part of the User of the Month User Group)

Edit - Forum access is for the month following a member's selection as a Community Star, and this is irregardless of which 'accolade' you were selected for.
The 'Updating Your Roster' page in the Rules Manual/Codex/Listing has been updated (http://omniverse-rpg.com/updates.php#Updates)

I had to fix some dead links that were left in that page, but I also tossed in a remark in the opening paragraph about how Staff will use your Purchase Log. I also stressed down below to make sure that, if you buy a consumable and then use it in battle, that you don't remove it from your roster. Make sure you just move it to a new line in your Roster Sheet. With Proto Man, I have a 'Used' line on my Sheet.

-> Repaired the broken links at the bottom of the 'Influence and Notoriety' page in the Rules (http://omniverse-rpg.com/influence.php#I..._Notoriety). I also added a blurb about the Storyteller and a link to the Storyteller PSA for our more delinquent primes.

-> Fixed dead links in the Changing Characters and Alternate Characters page of the Rules. I also added a paragraph on linking secondary accounts that includes a link to the Account Switcher in your User CP and the Account List feature of the forum. I also added a paragraph at the bottom about HUB/OOC accounts. (http://omniverse-rpg.com/changingcharact...Characters)

To repeat -- nothing new, just outlining/reinforcing stuff we've always done.
After going through the remaining pages, I've fixed any remaining dead links (which were all links to forum pages).

If anyone catches an instance where I may have left in a 'deady', please let me know so I can make it extinct. Thank you, and enjoy your stay here at Omniverse™
The introduction page has been updated to remove some rather out-of-date ideas about secondaries being weak, and to reflect that the 'war' between the Empire and Kingdom is less of an outright one right now.

OLD

Not all of the Omniverse's inhabitants are Primes. Most people are secondaries - those summoned by a Prime. Unlike Primes, secondaries cannot use Omnilium themselves, and as such are much weaker than Primes. Some are summoned to use as minions, while others are treated as countrymen and companions to bring solace to them in this strange alien world.

Some Primes wander the Nexus until they find one of the gates to another verse, but most are found and 'rescued' by the Empire or the Kingdom, who often fight for control of the Fountain of Infinity. They will often treat new Primes by giving them a place to live and information about the world to start out with. Other factions are generally not so overt, but often have scouts in the Nexus to see what's happening.

NEW

Not all of the Omniverse's inhabitants are Primes. Most people are secondaries - those summoned by a Prime. Unlike Primes, secondaries cannot use Omnilium themselves. Some secondaries are summoned as subservient minions, while others are treated as countrymen and companions to bring solace to them in this strange alien world. While mortal and dependent on Primes for many things, secondaries are not necessarily weaker - an example being the Space Marines employed as the Emperor's elite guard, who can easily crush a fresh-faced Prime.

Some Primes wander the Nexus until they find one of the gates to another verse, but most are found and 'rescued' by the Empire or the Kingdom, who can never have enough immortal allies to serve as agents and soldiers. They will often treat new Primes by giving them a place to live and information about the world to start out with. Other factions are generally not so overt, but often have scouts in the Nexus to see what's happening.

http://omniverse-rpg.com/bonusrewards.php#Bonus_Rewards

The Bonus Reward section of the Rules Codex has been updated.

Added a how-to for Referrals, a section on Quests, an 'Other Bonuses' section (RIPBOOKCLUB).

Also included the link to the multipurpose thread we use to process Quests and Bonus Requests.
The Travel Page - http://omniverse-rpg.com/travel.php#Travel - has been updated.

Changes include:
--A fuller section on the Void, including a link to the Info Thread and logistics of entering/exiting the Void.
--I added a little picture that shows the general layout of the Omniverse and the gates between the main verses. As the page states, it's obviously not to scale and not to shape. The picture is a visual version of the information in our forum descriptions and the Nexus Info thread (which is also linked on that page)
