Quick and Easy Questions (please read the OP)
For more information on where you can put a base, please read This
Storyteller generally only intervenes if a Prime or Faction is making an ass of themselves on someone else's turf AND the person writing those stories isn't involving the authorities on their own in a fair and balanced manner.
Quote:Disassemble – 800 OM (requires Hive Mind)

A type of self-kinesis, this allows a character to 'melt' themselves into smaller parts and move around in a more liquid form. This could be represented as water, liquid metal, sand, or a horde of small animals like snakes or bats (though this would require other powers like Flight and Shapeshifting). In your disassembled state you are almost invulnerable to harm with blunt or piercing weapons - these will only knock you around. However, environmental obstacles and energy attacks will still hurt you. Changing to and from your disassembled state can take a couple of seconds (with ~0 SPD) or be almost instantaneous (with 10+ SPD) and is fairly tiring to do repeatedly. Injuries do not disappear when disassembling and reassembling.

A couple questions.

First: What's to stop someone from just staying in their Disassembled State indefinitely? Is this an option?

Second: What would it take to make your Disassembled State look like your regular State?
First: I would say its just a matter of exhaustion.
Second: probally a alt form, power up/powered up form, or a specific move would be my guess
[Image: cirno-is-genius.jpg]
First: unlike Phasing, Disassemble isn't draining to be in, just to switch into repeatedly. Also, just as a swarm of bats (another example in the Power) could attack effectively, a pile of sand is pretty dangerous. Look up a sand-blaster to see what I mean.

Second: anything a new character can do, an older character can do just as well. Alt Forms and Power-Ups would be as unnecessary as requiring someone with Shapeshifting to purchase additional Forms whenever they wanted to alter their look. I'd assume a Move coupled with Shapeshifting.

So this might be the dumbest question ever...

I'm considering a character who uses alter egos... This is done via Shapeshifting and Suppression with an abnormally high Tec. As long as his true identity is not revealed, can this character finagle his way into opposing factions? Yes, I know this might have a bad ending if he is discovered, but that's all a part of the fun and story!
If you decide to change the character you are swapping to, is that okay?
Yeah. If the character hasn't been approved yet then you won't need to wait for the switch timer thing.

Tier One Super Utility Moves- 600 OM (Prerequisites- Buff Proficiency, Superspeed, Phasing)

Luci paints a train, called the Westside Express.

This takes approximately five minutes of uninterrupted painting. If Luci is interrupted while painting the train, the move fails.

This move can only be performed on some form of train tracks, monorail, subway line, or other place intended for trains.

The Westside Express is a single compartment, and is based off a New York City Subway train. This compartment is approximately 12 feet tall, 10 feet wide, 67 feet long, and it’s total capacity is 90 occupants.

While Luci is performing this move, she cannot use any other Moves, and must focus on driving the Westside Express.

The Westside Express will fade into nothingness after about an hour, unless Luci ends the Move earlier.

The Westside Express has a top speed of 100 MPH.

If the Westside Express would collide with another train, it will simply Phase through the other train. The occupants of the Westside Express would also Phase, becoming intangible and transparent, until the Westside Express moves through the other train.

Except in the event of a collision, the Westside Express is about as sturdy as a real world subway car. If it takes severe damage the Move may end early.

This move costs 1 SP.

This isn't a move and I don't really see a reason for it to be, so it's denied. You're still welcome to attempt to do stuff with a train, but remember that the max speed for vehicles is 80 MPH and that only a few verses have anything resembling train tracks.

So can I just have a train then? a regular old 80mph train? I feel like it's a stretch to say I can 'handwave' a personal train car. Should I just redesign the move?

Westside: Join or Die

It falls under the purview of Personal Vehicles, so unless you're using it to run into people, you can summon a train for free.

If you check out the OOC faction quests, completing the quest for one faction disqualifies you from the quest for their rival(s), so one prime cannot officially join rivaled factions. If you want to put that into IC terms, you can just think of it as faction's 'vetting' people who want to join them. And yes, most factions are going to have safeguards in place for goofiness like what you're describing.

I don't think this necessarily stops you from writing a double-agent story/spy thriller. You can still join a faction and then try and infiltrate its opposing group, but you would not be able to get any reward from said opposing group's faction quest.

1. I wouldn't see why not. Your options would be pretty limited trying to fight as sand or water or tiny things (but hey, people have made weirder things work)

2. You mean you'd want to be a bunch of... mini-Jeffs? I imagine Shapeshifting would be the requirement there (as it's listed for having your dissembled form being small animal thingies).
More like Sandman (Spiderman) or T-1000. They don't really activate anything to be sand or liquid metal. They just ARE. Sandman takes a Spiderkick by surprise and doesn't need to think "better turn to sand now". T-1000 doesn't need to change form to take a shotgun to the face.

Basically: in regards to THOSE situations and similar ones, would they be considered to be Disassembled all the time (yet looking humanoid until taking damage) in OV terms? Or would it require a specialized Move to turn certain parts of one's body into a "liquid" state to perform the acts they do?
I think it'd be the latter. Some sort of move that allows you to rapid-Dissemble that part of your bod (with proper balancing and whatnot). I almost feel like there might be some similar Moves already in existence that can be adapted for that. I know that's not technically how it works in their respective canons, but for Omniverse purposes, I imagine that'd be how it would have to work (#Omniphysics).
I figured as much, thus why I did it as a Move in my workshop. Just wanted some clarification on it. Thanks, pal.

Haven't posted since 2014 (arrival in Nexus: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=899) and I left that threadwith my character winning a fight but not having left the Nexus.

Sooooo I've been in the Nexus for the past 3 years and I'm wondering whether I should start a new thread to state my departure, or post my departure post in that 2014 thread (which could then be locked once and for all)?

Your choice, really. I'd personally just make a new one, but it doesn't really matter. If you'd rather post in your old thread one last time, that's fine also.

I posted a closer in the old thread and will put up a new one detailing the transition from Nexus to [insert Verse name here once I've made up my mind].

Could you please lock my old thread? (Do old threads even need locking?)
They don't. Just don't post in it again.

Is a self-destruction move doable in the Omniverse? I'm thinking it would be a Super Attack and would be lethal to both the user and the recipient.
