That's how it starts. Dark magic is addicting. First you use it for a really good reason, and it feels so good that you just have to do it next time you have a problem that it could solve, even if there are other ways to go about it. Then you find yourself using it more and more, and soon you're going out of your way for more power, more blood, more dark magic. Before you know it, the magic is using you instead.
