Rules of conduct has had a bit added on punctuation/grammar:
Quote:Spelling and grammar should be of a decent quality. As mentioned in The Roleplaying Process, while we don't have a minimum word count for posts, all posts must be written prose. And while we don't expect every post to be perfect, proper grammar and punctuation is essential. If we feel like you're not even trying to meet this baseline, we may make OM deductions.

Bounty formula has been changed so that the banishment reward simply matches the cost for a banishment circle (it's thus a choice rather than an incentive to banish, however small).

Phasing, Disassemble and Teleportation have had their descriptions updated a little bit. The timescales are less vague now.

Our About page has been completely swapped out for something shorter and more-to-the-point. Hopefully be eyecatching to google, too
The information about character requirements/restrictions has been moved to How to Join.

All-round rejig of the OOC rules of conduct. Not much change but what extra detail there is is mostly in regards to discrimination and harassment. Trying to do my best to keep this a safe and fun environment for everyone. :cop:

In an attempt to make the name a little less .... plain, the Ashen Plains has been renamed to the Ashen Steppes.

I've added an extra line to the Mimic description:
Quote:Additionally, you will not copy the target’s stats - the move’s effectiveness will depend on your own stats - and you will be somewhat less skilled than if you had the ability or move yourself.

The gameplay mechanic previously called 'Summons' has been renamed to 'Assists', to differentiate from 'summoning' which Primes use to call stuff to the Omniverse. It seemed the obvious term at the Omniverse's inception but less so over time. Since we already have a storyline mechanic 'summoning', not to mention some Assists are just buddies that come in to fight for a bit, it's just less confusing. The rule pages have all been updated, but I may have missed some stickies or something. Rosters will need changing but people can do this individually (until at some point I get tired and just do them all myself ).

The RPing Process page has been updated again with some changes to the first part of NPCs, a ToC, and the following addition to the newly-titled Writing Format section:
"When using other player's characters such as writing their dialogue, you should always seek approval from their owner first. If that person prefers to write their own dialogue you should work out an agreement. In certain scenarios like staff-run storylines, staff may write as your character in order to move the story along. This is one reason it's important to keep a personality section up-to-date on your roster, or let people know in the IC topic's OOC thread your character's current state of mind. If they write your character incorrectly, let them know and often they'll be able to retcon with an edit. "

That's my bad for the confusing language in the Changing Characters rule page. 'Updates forum' has now been changed to 'help desk'.

The horribly outdated first paragraph of "changing characters" has been changed:
"Changing characters will reset you to the starting OM of 5000 unless you have at least 8000 earned OM. If your character had over 8000 earned OM, you may keep half of the OM you have earned minus the starting amount. So, if you have 10,000 OM, take away the starting OM of 5000 and you're left with 5000. Half of that is 2500 OM, which you can add on to your new starting OM.
If you're certain you wish to change characters, post a new join form as usual in the joining forum but with "Changing Character" somewhere in the topic title. When you are finished joining, a staff member will reset your Om to where it should be and post in your purchases log to indicate that you switched characters at this point. You will keep the same log, so that we can keep a record of where all your Earned OM has come from. "

Updated the stat page with the following addendum:
"Numbers, though. What do they mean? To give you a rough idea of what your character’s numbers mean for your roleplaying enjoyment, here are some descriptions! These are intended as rough guidelines, and – particularly for attack and defense – vary depending on the particular move. For example, if two players have 3 ATK and 6 ATK, respectively, and they perform the exact same move (like a standard punch), the one with 6 ATK will obviously be more powerful. However, if the player with 3 ATK had a move which required a long time to prepare and execute (such as a charged-up punch), it might be several times more powerful than even the 6 ATK player's normal punch. For more details, see the move rules. ‘Normal moves’ in these descriptions refer to non-super moves. "

All bonus for Participation and Exceptional Writing have been doubled.
This increased bonus has been applied retroactively for all previously submitted group threads and all staff-driven stories (The Scramble, The Jubilee, and the Rage of the Rathalos). For those three events, only currently active members received their new bonus. If you return and read this, all you have to do is post in the Help Desk and a staff member will gladly give you the remainder of your owed OM.
All these updates should appear on your P&D Log.

The examples in the moves rules have all been expanded upon and now should all be accurate to to the current level of detail we now ask of people. I have also reduced the cost of the second 'Fouet' examples onward, since technically according to my rules, that should be the case. I'm gradually getting better at defining these moves rules. My ultimate aim is for it to be a lot easier to understand.

Quote:Life Detect – 800 OM
Life Detect allows you to detect the life energy of all sentient beings in your current verse, even robots and other mechanical beings. By that nature, it can also detect when they are being snuffed out. Unlike Enhanced Senses, this does not tell you exact details such as that person's stance or other details like the surrounding terrain, but it can tell you what direction a person is in.
The Life Detect power has been removed from the game. It was a carryover of sorts from a previous site I ran, Another Destiny. I found it problematic because it allowed people to know literally every single living thing in a verse. Considering that I like our world to be constantly evolving and we don't even know how many people are in a verse yet, it was… Iffy. It also doubled over with the Vita Compass and Enhanced Senses somewhat. All players who currently own this move will have it refunded (will be updated on individual purchase logs).
