Event: Rage of the Rathalos
#61
I don't understand what you're saying.

If someone claimed to be a wizard these days, people would consider them crazy of playing a trick
If they did magic, people would think the person was a stage magician
After the first few people died thinking the fireballs were harmless illusions, people would start shooting and still consider the wizard to be a fake.

That is how people would react.

Samus doesn't really hate Ganon. She doesn't, yet, think he's evil. But she is very wary of him (granted, she's ALWAYS wary). She is suspicious of anyone who talks like a politician. His manner of speech gives off that air.

Rage of the Rathalos ... and the RATHIAN?!?!?!?!?!?

The OP has been updated with Rathian's stats. The Rathalos is tired, but not massively injured. You know what they say about a cornered beast. It may, however, fail to use its fireball attacks until/unless it rests up. The real fight is just starting.

Rathian
ATK: 6
DEF: 8
SPD: 4
TEC: 2

Proficiencies: Physical Strength, Ranged Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency, Area Attack Proficiency.
Powers: Super Speed, Flight, Master Acrobat.
Moves: Poison Talons, Poison Tail, Sharp Teeth, Sonic Scream, Fireball

Rathians are less aggressive and more territorial than Rathalos. While not as powerful in physique, they are more patient and likely to try and poison opponents. They are also more likely to stay groundbound and conserve their energy than the hyper-aggressive Rathalos.

Except Harry doesn't throw fireballs at people. It's against the Laws of Magic, for one thing. He confines his incineration to the vampires, ghouls, Fae, and other creepy crawlies.

CAVE DETAILS.

It's pretty big (obviously, being the home of two dragons). Where the characters entered, there is a sheer drop down into the mountains (hence the need for arrival by flying mounts). The rest of the cave is walled on all sides, though there are cracks in the walls through which water leaks. There is a stream running through which collects in a small pool/lake in the middle and runs down over the cliff.

Any eggs you young?

OK, so, as someone who makes a hobby of studying both human and animal psychology, picking on a nesting couple's younglings is such a terribad idea it makes me laugh at Inlumia for trying it. Most animals, Rathian and Rathalos probably included, would immediately focus on him. Black Mage Flambe soon to be on the menu, Omni?

EDIT: This is not me saying don't do it, merely me stating my overwhelming amusement at the possible consequences of Inlumia's actions.

EDIT 2: In case it wasn't obvious, I am a sadistic human being, unlike Harry.

Inlumia knows that it is dangerous. That is why he is planning on waiting until they are distracted. He also knows that if he does not take out any offspring, then they can cause problems latter.
Besides, if he will come back anyway, then he is not too worried. If he won't, then they may not get another chance to take out the young before they start hunting and able to defend themselves.
It will also give the others openings while the adults are distracted by hunting him

Lastly, Omni seems to be setting things up for him to laugh at so Inlumia figures Omni will try to make things worse.

I had Samus, Cindy, Harry, and Proto Man as the only people revealed to the dragons (I know you're around, Inlumia, but I know you might have your own plan). Samus and Cindy are engaged in the Rathalos, and Proto Man and Harry are wrassling with the Rathian.

Everyone else, you should come join us. It's a rip-roaring time.

Yeah, attacking the eggs is almost certain to bring the Rathian down on your ass. You will find two large eggs in the nest (each bigger than yourself) but the shell is made of a material harder than steel. You won't be able to break them during the fight. This is me saying there's a Very Good Reason for that.

Dude. No. What? You can't just kill one of the dragons. I know you're new but that is major godmoding. Look at the stats on the thing.

Sorry.
It's just that I figured it had been just about knocked out. I was assuming it had been.
Would it be better to replace
Quote:Running over to the fallen Dragon, Inlumia saw the gun woman had been focusing on the skull. Sighing he shoved his sword through one of it's eyes just in-case it was merely stunned and injured. He did not want it coming back into the fight.
As the dragon suddenly twitched in death spasms, he knew he was right on the money with that call. Still, he would not call the gun woman out on the bad choice of target unless she was a bitch.

After doing that he used the break in the fighting he had and called out "Hey OMNI, you voyeuristic prick, you enjoying the show you set up?"

With
Quote:Running over to the fallen Dragon, Inlumia sighed as he saw that the gun woman had been focusing on the skull. It was possibly just stunned or out cold.
Suddenly the dragon opened its eyes and looked right at him. It lunged at him with it's mouth open, and the desire to kill clear in it's hate filled eyes.
He stabbed at it's eyes, trying to stab through to the brain behind them, but only managed to get it to deflect it's lunge just a bit. Still it was enough and Inlumia jumped onto the back of it's head. Time to try riding it once more.

From his questionable position on top of a very angry dragon, Inlumia called out "Hey OMNI, you voyeuristic prick, you enjoying the show you set up?"

Then he let go as the Dragon tried to swing it's head against a wall to crush him. Without time to properly brace for impact the fall hurt, but the Dragon left cracks in the stone, and was entering a full blown Rage.

Nah, the Rathalos has skin like a tank. I want to emphasize that it should be an uphill struggle in this fight just to stay alive, especially now that there are two (though the Rathian is weaker). Edited.

ARE WE GETTING PET DRAGONS?

I'm working on a post now. Should be up in an hour or two.
#77
Posted. Enjoy the Godzilla vs. King Kong that's gonna happen.
#78
Also: I want a pet dragon...

Maybe you can take one of the eggs and raise it.

This event will be coming to a close very soon. When I post the climax, everyone will receive a number of points based on their activity, posting quality, and contribution to the event. How it will work is this: whoever has the most points has the right to the artefact. However, anyone may opt to give their points to someone else so that they can essentially 'vote' for who they think should get the artefact, or who they want to get it. After 2-3 days (I'll state the exact time when I post the points) I will close the voting and whoever has the most points gets the artefact. I'll go over this again when I post it, this is just a heads up.
