A rushed defense is held against the Empire's dogs, miners held against the magitek walkers and the seemingly magical ability of one of them. The soldiers reach deep into the mine, but what they find is beyond the capacity: a Esper, a creature of magic. The soldiers are destroyed, bar a single one who had been until now a slave and holds a link to these magical gods.
