If I recall correctly, Shade wasn't allowed to do things with her opponent's corpse after any form of death due to them always collapsing into omnilium so I'm not sure if assimilation is doable on primes
Eh? I was explicitly told be Omni that the body doesn't dissapate unless you choose to extract thenOmnilium from it.
This was back during the Enel Ganon fight, so maybe things have changed.
I was unable to find anything on it in the Death rules or the Fight rules. Let's see what a staffer has to say about it.

I believe that the corpse doesn't dissipate immediately because you must be able to banish it even if someone kills themselves, so that they can't cheaply escape banishment.

In regards to the whole Primes breaking down into Omnilium thing, I found where i saw it:

I still can't find the mention of where it was stated, but it does take a few minutes before that happens, to give time for banishing or the like.
"Hold on a second, I have a call..."
"Yes, this is Wesker. Go ahead."
I guess Omni changed his mind from our conversation about it. Regardless, I should still have time to appropriate their bodies into new Secondaries before they dissipate.
Did a lot of planning last night at work. I'm now thinking a 3/0/5/3 arrangement for Smith. End game would be a 4/2/10/4.

Option 2 has my vote....get this party started Ganny !

Character name: Smith
Character source: The Matrix Trilogy
Character history: Canon to the end of the third movie. When Smith would have been destroyed, Omni snatched him up instead and brought him here.
Physical Description: He's that guy in the suit and glasses.
Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF: 1
SPD: 4
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength (1000)
Ranged Proficiency (1000)
Starting Powers:
Burst Movement (800)
Super Jumping, Basic (300)
Master Acrobat (400)
Starting Moves:
Desert Eagle: (Ranged Proficiency) This heavy pistol fires a 50 cal projectile. It can be fired as quickly as Smith can pull the trigger, but does only modest damage.
Viral Takeover: By spearing a person with his outstretched hand, Smith can overwrite their code and replace it with his own. Against weak Secondaries, the chance of resistance to this effect is nearly zero. As his target's power increases, so too does their ability to resist and rebuff Smith's code. A defeated foe, however, cannot hope to resist this potent ability. New Smiths created are Secondaries, and using this on a defeated Prime does not prevent them from resurrecting as per the norm.
Starting Items:
Communicator (200)
Mobile Dataverse Device (100)
Vita Compass (800)
Starting Unlocks:
1st Stat Increase (1000)
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
What my sheet will likely look like once I switch. 6200 OM spent. Why? Because I WILL get that last 100 OM I need for 8000 before I switch.

Wouldn't the viral takeover require debuff ? Seeing as you are completely taking over the person and it will be a lingering effect that lasts indefinitely ? I might be wrong here.

Against a Secondary, I don't think its necessary. Against an actively resisting Prime? Nah. I didn't put any negative effects on it (yet). It's basically a fancy way of summoning Secondaries to the Omniverse.

Now why would you have to go and name it a fancy way of summoning secondaries....that blows my argument out of the water  .... * insert another random smart comment here*

I'm late to the party, but I think Greg would back me with this suggestion:
You should be Steve French.
I have no idea who that is.
