First venture in a new land
#21
Celestia was pleased with Veritas' decision.  Not that there was really a wrong answer to the question, both approaches would achieve their current goal and both would provide some valuable training.  “I'm glad,” she replied, smiling, “I have the utmost confidence in your ability to construct things, I am pleased to see you are willing to try new things.”  It was a positive sign that Veritas was willing to attempt communication, given that his attitude up until now had been very anti-social.  That he was willing to try it at all seemed something of a minor miracle, from what little Celestia had seen of him.  He had warmed up to Celestia easily enough of course, but while certainly better than the alternative, it did not mean one was well adjusted overall.

Of course, Veritas wasn't fully open to the idea yet.  He idly gripped his weapon summoning device, and mentioned he would bring consequences should anyone in this process double cross them.  Celestia wasn't quite willing to call him out on it, as she generally had no issue with a person ensuring their own safety but she did think he was taking an awfully aggressive approach to it.  Celestia nodded.  “Due caution is always worth considering.  However, also keep in mind that paranoia when there are no threats can be just as dangerous as the enemies you wish to guard against.”  Then she smiled softly.  “We've new arrivals, who have made no enemies, in a civilized land.  What's more, I hear beings such as us are considered quite dangerous.  I am confident that we need not worry about betrayal.  It would take someone very fooling to risk so much for so little.”

Celestia turned, and began walking into the harbour.  She had a few ideas about where to seek out prospective captains, but that seemed pointless to her without a sense of what sort of vessel they should search for.  “Tell me about this island we're going to visit.  How far away is it?  How dangerous is the journey?  Even if, as primes, we won't have to worry about the ship's supplies, I expect that to factor in to who might or might not be willing to take us on.”  Veritas was the one who had found the book and chosen the island, Celestia would thus rely on him for details surrounding it as much as she could.

Taking out the book, Veritas quickly read through the pages.

"The journey isn't so much dangerous, as is the destination. The island is rumored to possess golems on it that take a few good hits before they can break, large quantities of Golems. The book says that if we disturb the resting spots of the fallen on the island, the golems will activate. Furthermore it appears to have several ancient shrines, temples, fortresses and vaults. I assume such places may hold traps, most likely. The island also has... apparently a lot of treasure on it. The treasures of the island could be worth investigating. A footnote in the book says that the island has a sword that can double as a blaster, but I'll believe that when I see it."

A pause was done by the supervillain, as he listened to Celestia compliment his skills at inventing.  A smile formed on his face, which was rare for him because normally he was not happy.

"What's this? The island appears to also have an old and broken suit of powered armor hidden somewhere on it? If I could find that, and get the armor operational,  I could power myself up and simulate some  of the abilities I had when I was bionic."

Veritas smiled once more. "So who shall we hire to take us to the island?"

<From Recovery>

Revan Noctis stepped aboard the dock his hooded armoured cloaked form stepped across the wooden platform.
The ships here were quite amazing and he would have enjoyed getting one for himself in the future though right now it was not necessary.

The dock was quite stable and well maintained which made him wondering if the other islands around the verse were of similar level.
He wondered how the people here saw the world around them no doubt they were not primes they were surely capable of great things all the same.

He needed to move quickly and watch his back there was no way of knowing what the people here would think of him if they saw him.
He could see the large gate in the distance once more and he knew exactly where it went to though for the moment the gate back to the Frozen Fields was of more interest to him.

The city was itself beautiful as was to be expected he supposed and there was many people here of all types.
Walking into the city he looked at all the shops and homes of all types and wondered if the people here even knew who Sombra was and if they had all ceased finding the mysteries hidden in this world.

He wondered if he would find any companions for his future adventures here though he had noticed everybody seemed to be quite busy as was.
Looking through the stalls he noticed this place must have had quite a thriving economy which made him not surprised that most people here were not eager to leave.

He noticed strange weaponry used on some of the islands individuals were far more advanced then a bow seemingly perhaps it was magic yet it was possibly just technology from other worlds that had no resemblance to his own. As he looked around it occurred to him the island definitely had a land army as well no doubt there were forces at work here though he was not currently interested in getting himself kicked off the island or worse by bugging the local guards.

Looking around he was amazingly surprised when his eyes fell upon what appeared to be another pony walking down the street.
This one was far different however with wings and a white body instead of the black form Sombra had.

The pony was not travelling alone however as it seemed another being was with her which interested him further.
Not exactly an ancient artifact but probably no doubt of interest to Sombra and perhaps an opportunity to learn more about Sombra's species as well.

Moving he decided to begin following the pair and would find out what they were doing here after all surely somebody similar to Sombra must have had something they were after. Revan hoped that he would not be spotted by the pair and he would make every attempt to hide himself from being spotted.

The island was extremely large and full of different cultures and he wondered why the Frozen Fields had been so empty compared to this verse.
He was considering the dangers of what he was doing after all he would probably be not liked if he was caught spying still he had his reasons.

Why were there so many self aware magical ponies in the Vasty Deep anyway he wondered if Omni had a preference for them much like it seemed he did humans.
He did not really understand the world from which they came but Sombra had said he had heard of humans before even travelling here so surely somehow their species were at least partially connected.

He noticed the pair were staying near the waters edge he took this to mean they were intending to leave though if that were the case why did they not just take the boat they had arrived on.
Unless they lacked a boat which meant they had come from the Nexus which meant it was possible they were only as new as he was to the Omniverse.

If they lacked a boat and were not making one that meant they were looking for one and he had to admit even he did not know where to find one for hire.
Of course he would have liked to have gotten closer to listen in on their conversation but he did not dare he was risking being caught enough already and the pony had a horn which meant at any time magic would be brought into play.

It was boring waiting for the pair to find their boat not that he was in any kind of rush nor was he sure what he would do once they found it.
It occurred to him perhaps this pony and Sombra knew each other and what he was seeing was simply a guest of Sombra intending to reach his home.

No he saw no mark of Sombra upon either of them and if they were new they would not yet know Sombra even existed here which just made the idea of talking to them even more exciting. He needed to find out who the pony was and what her name was and why she had wings and Sombra did not he swore to himself he would ask these questions once he revealed himself to them.

Revan was making his way further down the street as the pair seemed to continue looking for a boat confirming his suspicions further.
Now he considered just offering to help them get the boat but not a good idea to reveal himself yet besides he was certain they were fine.

He hoped they would hire a much larger boat somehow he was uninterested in hopping aboard another small vessel thus he needed to stand back while he watched what they were doing.
The second person was clearly very different and was definitely not a pony which made him wonder who that person was as well.

So he needed to wait for them to get the boat then they would most likely set sail for some new destination whether it was another gate or some island.
The idea of following them to some kind of secret place was interesting and perhaps they would lead him to the ancient artifacts Sombra wanted.

Revan decided to stop by another one of the stalls it was time for some breakfast probably his last chance to eat before the next adventure happened.
He quickly got some fish from the storekeeper and began to eat it quickly following the pair further he was quite enjoying finally getting some food.

The food here especially the fish was quite nice more reason to stay here and finally perhaps he realized something.
Perhaps the reason the place was so nice was to make it so that nobody actually attempted an escape perhaps it was all further manipulation.

Revan was now prepared for his new adventure and would follow this pair to wherever they go until he needed to reveal himself.
If he had the opportunity he would get an ancient artifact and use it for his own abilities that are available for his own plans.

The fierce waves crashed against the shoreline as ships moved across the sea surely getting another ship would be easy to do.
He was excited to go along with them though the adventure would be dangerous he was going to find the answers that he sought one way or another.

Veritas explained that in this venture it wouldn't be the journey that was dangerous so much as the destination.  They shouldn't have to worry about the safety of the vessel they would hire.  They would be the only ones who would end up in danger, would in all honesty was probably for the best.  “I take it the voyage won't be too long either then, yes?  Something small and fast would probably be our best bet then.  We could minimize the time needed to reach the island, and hiring a small boat would mean a smaller crew we'd have to account for.”  Celestia looked around at the vessels currently moored in the dock, mentally categorizing them by how much each met the journey's current criteria.

Veritas speculated about what they would find in the ruins.  There were a couple artifacts he was particularly interested in, but that wasn't what Celestia was paying the most attention to.  She was noting the defences: golems and traps built into the structures themselves.  Presumably that was why it was thought to still have so many of its treasures, despite how easy it was to get to the island.  Celestia considered what she might need to prepare.  With her flight, and the magic she had available, limited t though it was at the moment, she felt she could deal with whatever the ruins saw fit to throw at them.  This close to civilization, it couldn't be so dangerous that they would not be able to recover from a mistake, otherwise it would have been dealt with by now.  Or at least better hidden.

Which meant that speculation on what they would face and how to deal with it could be put on hold.  Veritas was wondering who they should hire to ferry them to the island, and truth be told Celestia was wondering too.  “I suppose we should go find out.”  She looked around for only a moment before she spotted what she was looking for, and then she walked purposefully towards it.

To one side of the harbour was a large tavern, a few stories tall and made apparent by the large wooden signs which displayed an artists rendering of a mug of ale.  The sign identified it as the 'Landfall Inn'.  If there was anywhere one could be counted on to find and off-duty captain, it would be the bar next to the harbour.  Celestia pushed the door open and strode inside.

The inside of the tavern was surprisingly cozy, despite the size of it.  It was a large space, fitting the overall size of the structure, but strategic wooden pillars, chandeliers, the large fireplace and even the lower ceiling contributed to a sort of 'living room' feel.  Celestia only paid it a token amount of attention however, as she had a particular purpose for her visit.  She walked up to the bar, and spoke up before the bartender had a chance to question what a horse was doing in his bar.  “I'm looking for a ship to transport a friend and I to a nearby island, could you point me to a captain willing to assist us?”

The bartender was still stunned when one of the patrons lifted a hand up, the other gripping a now empty glass.  “I can get you there,” he said, “Don't have much better to do right now.”

Celestia regarded him for a moment, wondering if there was a prank or ruse at play, but soon concluded that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.  More likely, this captain was either interested in seeing a creature like her.  Or perhaps he was simply interested in courting favours with the new prime in town.  Either way it would make the search easier, though there was one thing Celestia still felt the need to ask.  “And your ship is in good condition, yes?”

The captain glared at her.  “Oi, just what are you saying?  That I'm not good for my word?”

Celestia raised a hoof apologetically.  “Not at all!  I was merely assuming there would be a little more negotiation involved.  It caught me by surprise.”  The captain seemed mollified by this, and Celestia's hidden question was answered.  The captain's reaction to her question was enough to let her know that he was passionate about his ship, enough that it shouldn't be an issue.  “I thank you for your assistance,” she added after a moment, before heading toward the door.  “Veritas!”  She'd call out when she emerged, “I have good news!  I found us a captain.”

As Celestia negotiated with the patron in the Land Fall Tavern and convinced him to be their ride to the nearby island, Veritas smiled. They had a means of getting there at the very least. But with the dangers he'd read about on the island well preparation was half the battle. As it stood he couldn't do much in a fight unless he shot his opponent, or sliced them. What he needed was another ability, something he might discover on the island actually. "Excellent. Now that you have procured us transportation, all that remains is gathering essential supplies. We'll need some rope, possibly some explosives... oh wait we can just make anything we need when we get there..." said Veritas. Going over to the exit of the Land Fall Tavern, Veritas opened the door for Celestia and the Captain. Being polite wasn't his strong suit, but he knew he could do it. It wasn't that difficult to fake kindness, and decency so he could pull it off. A grin on his face,  he asked. .

"So do we have everything we need, Celestia?"  Veritas was unaware of a new weapon, well more of an old one that had been 'reloaded' into his weapons module. This was the Particle Beam Rifle that he had once used back on his world. Still he knew today was going to be a good day at the very least, because he felt like it was going to be such. "Are there any further tasks we need to accomplish before we journey to the island?"

Revan Noctis had not intended to come to the Omniverse nor had he intended to travel to the Vasty Deeps but finally after much hard work he was finally doing something of his own freewill and even if it was not something he would normally do he had to admit it felt good. And stranger yet ponies kept popping up everywhere he looked and magical talking ponies at that which made him wonder what was all this had Omni been responsible for other worlds too and if not what was and did Omni know them too.

More questions added to the list he would like to ask Omni if he ever go the chance though he was beginning to think he underestimated the time and energy he would need to devote to ever gaining any answers. Still he was not the type to give up and Omni would soon learn that as would any others that crossed him though he figured that might be partially why Omni had been interested in him.

He had been attempting to study the defences the pair he was following had though the more human looking one looked more dangerous he knew not to underestimate the magical ponies. He noted this one looked far less equipped then Sombra with the exception of the wings and extra height this one had no armour and possibly no weapon like the vicious scythe Sombra had used.

Though he also knew it was the magic that was the most dangerous of all and that meant that he would most likely have been completely outmatched yet only time would tell if this was worth the risk. Moving he reminded himself to not fall behind the people here seemed to pay less attention to him then the ones he had met after exiting the Fields he figured this was due to primes as they called them being far more common here though he still got a glance every now and again.

So many ships any number of them could be chosen to take them where they were needed though for what price was the question that needed to be answered and soon. He would just have to wait to see what his unaware companions decided upon though he hoped they chose their guide and transport carefully.

Revan remained out of sight as he followed the pair to a large tavern which did look rather impressive and would certainly be full of local townsfolk that could point them in the right direction.
Strangely the white pony entered alone without the help of the other being travelling with her clearly she was very independent.

Glancing through the window it seemed the pony had indeed gotten attention and he presumed rather a brawl was about to break out or they had gained what they needed.
A moment later the pony came out clearly they had accomplished their task for the moment which meant it would be time to continue following.

One of the townsfolk exited shortly after following the pony from behind clearly somebody that had experience with the sea which meant they had most likely found somebody willing to help.
He had to admit watching the pair was rather exciting he had no path or direction in the Omniverse except for what Sombra had offered him and this was the best possible situation he could have hoped for.

If he was going to go on a boat again he hoped it was bigger and more comfortable then the last one that he was on it had been kind of scary on such a small little boat in the middle of the ocean alone.
Still he hated that he had to now think of leaving this island he had seen so little of it but as always duty called he supposed and he would always have time to return later to discover more.

It occurred to him that if the ship they were going to was too small hiding would get far more difficult perhaps revealing himself now would be more suitable.
He decided against it however as he wished to be careful he could still find out that the pair he was following were not what they seemed.

The fact was he had no idea far they would be travelling sure he had the supplies but if he intended to travel to another island he would end up in a place he did not know how to return from. Luckily for him he saw another shop nearby leaving those he was tracking for a second he went to get something that he knew would make this far easier.

Finally he found what he was looking for a basic compass was placed on the counter and he responded in kind with the strange money that was needed.
Taking the compass he placed it on his pocket for easy access when he needed to find his way back from wherever he was heading to on this crazed adventure.

Arriving back he managed to find the three people travelling again heading closer to the docks soon they would be leaving and if everything went as planned he would be leaving with them. There was now little reason to fall behind he could not let them escape him now.

Now he only needed to wait a bit longer and he would be able to complete the first step of his new found mission and leave this island.
He wondered though if maybe getting his own ship would be safer but then if they saw sails following them they would pick up pretty easily what was happening.

The plan was simply avoid being noticed until he was ready to reveal himself whether aboard the vessel or on the island it would not matter or at least he hoped it would not. He hoped though no surprises were in store for them and their ship as the last thing he wanted was to be attacked by anybody seeking to kill primes for whatever reason that may be.

Continuing to hide himself the time was to see what kind of boat this towns person finally had in store for them and then he would sneak aboard easy and simple.
He still had to admire the beauty of the island he would shortly be leaving behind he hoped that next time he would be free to do more deeper maybe see how the island was run.

He wondered if the other two were used to sea travel and if they would possibly even get sea sick it was not really his place to care though he figured if they could be future allies he might need to start caring about keeping them alive though he was not the one who had to ultimately decide that though he wish he was.

He was not exactly trusting of the locals and the one that owned the vessel was no different though he had to admit he was in no position to demand he be trusting when he was intending to stow away. Still this would most likely be safer for all of them and himself but just in case he would have his blade ready.

Finally he found what they would be travelling on and though it seemed like they could have done better he decided not to judge this was the perfect opportunity after all. Now he would just need to sneak aboard and he would be able to find a place to huddle down until the time was right to reveal himself.

Celestia pondered Veritas' question, as it was an important one.  What one might need in the field was an important thing to consider before any potentially hazardous venture.  This plane seemed to eliminate most such needs however, at least for beings such as her and Veritas, which rendered it somewhat trivial, at least on the surface.  It made Celestia slightly anxious not knowing what sort of hidden pitfalls there might be, but for the life of her she couldn't think of any, and as frustrating as it was it was likely that the only way to discovered them would be stumbling into them.  “Given that we can simply conjure food, medicine and travel supplies provided we have some time and space to focus, I cannot think of anything.”  She waited a moment before adding.  “Except our wits, I suppose.”

Celestia turned to the captain.  “I believe we're ready to depart.  Lead on to the ship, sir.”  She nodded her head and indicated toward the docks with a hoof.  The captain shrugged, before walking onward, heading toward his vessel.

As Celestia moved to follow, she saw something that made her pause.  A hooded figure appeared to be watching them from a distance, but the moment she looked away it was gone.  She wasn't fully sure if she was actually being watched, or merely spotted someone from an odd angle or in odd lighting.  Perhaps Veritas was rubbing off on her, and she was growing a little more suspicious.  She supposed it wouldn't be entirely uncalled for, being a little more observant while she was in unfamiliar lands.
Now she was lagging behind though, and she broke into a light trot to catch back up with Veritas and the captain.

It took only about a minute for the group to navigate the docks and reach the ship.  It was a small thing.  Well, strictly speaking it was the size of a small house, but compared to some of the battleships which sat in or patrolled around the harbour it looked quite small.  It was a personal sailing vessel, made of modern materials and with only a single, multi-purpose room below decks, supplemented by storage compartments scattered around the interior.  It could be operated by only a single person, and by the look of things it probably was, given that that captain neither waited for or left to find anybody else to join him.

At the captain's motion Celestia walked up the plank and onto the deck, whereupon she turned around, leaned over the rail, and smiled.  They were about to get underway.  She looked at Veritas.  “Our first adventure!  It will be nice to see the area outside the city.”  And what's more, she was about to find out if they were in fact being followed or not, as any pursuers would have to either make their presence know by approaching the ship, following theirs in another ship, or give up the chase.

As they walked onto the deck of the ship, Veritas memorized how the ship looked. Replicating the ship in the future should he need it was going to be a piece of cake. Of course he was likely to make his improvements to such a ship, but could you blame him? Veritas preferred science over the old fashioned approach, and was an inventor. Inventors solved problems, and built up their technology. So why couldn't he do the same? Feeling the moist air ripple through his hair, Veritas wished that he had his powered armor. But alas, he didn't and didn't remember how to invent mechanical devices. Sure the remembering at least one of his passwords had made him happier, for all of five minutes.

Yet there was an issue with Veritas being on the boat. The moment the boat started to take off,  he leaned over the rail and let out an explosive gagging sound, green liquid mixed with bits of food shooting at rail gun like speeds out of his mouth. Veritas was the kind of individual who got seasick real easily. It was not something he was proud of, to say the least. It was times like these he really wished he didn't have such a problem as it made travel more difficult. If one had asked why Veritas preferred flying as opposed to ocean travel? They'd have had their answer from his gut reaction which involved him barfing like that.

Upon recovering Veritas was weak. Using Omnilium he summoned up some medicine to stop himself from barfing. That had not been pleasant to say the least, and was something he'd like to never experience again. Once he had injected the medication into his body, he turned towards Celestia. "And now you know one of the reasons I usually prefer high tech gadgets to travel in."

It had been close the large white pony had almost spotted him luckily he had ducked behind one of the stone buildings who knows what would have happened.
At least his ability to hide himself was effective though he would still continue his attempt to improve it as time went on.

Revan stepped forward onto the docks and he noticed that the ship was indeed smaller then he was hoping for.
It seemed he had no choice sneaking aboard was now no longer an option and he needed to make a decision on his next move quickly.

He could have gotten another ship of his own to follow but that would have taken to long so he decided on doing the obvious option.
Stepping up to the ship he decided it was time he had to reveal himself to the pair he had been following and he was unsure of how they would react.

"I am Revan Noctis" he said stepping up the ramp to get closer to the pony

"I wish to join you on your journey" a most simple answer but they would have plenty of time for further questions later

Now or never he walked up the ramp and decided to be as nice as possible even if they did not exactly have reason to trust one another.
Reaching out his hand to the pair he was unsure if the pony could even give him a hand shake but it was worth the offer.

He would be able to take the ship to wherever they were going and learn more about them and if he was lucky the destination would be as interesting as the journey would be.
He did intend to get to talk to both of the beings though as he needed to know more about them especially the pony who may be of interest to Sombra.

The next thing to do would be to speak to the captain and make sure it was alright for him to stay aboard he was able to be respectful afterall.
Stepping forward he wondered if the captain had even noticed him knowing he would be busy preparing to set sail.

"I take it you have room for one more trust me I wont be a bother" he said hoping that what he said would not be made a lie by the actions of the others

The ship removed from the docks now began to move away from the island and Revan moved to somewhere alone where he would not get in anybodies way or attract their attention. It seemed whatever mission the pair were on he was going to be joining them.

Hopefully nobody else would be following them now though he was somewhat sure attention had diverted for now though none of them were well known here he was sure otherwise Sombra would have mentioned them.
The ocean still seemed to stretch on forever as the waves began to slowly dissipate as the ship drifted further out.

Revan watched as they began to move past the larger obviously military vessels that dwarfed their own vessel.
He would be sure to find out who they belonged to eventually but for now he would  need to focus on the other two that he was now able to get a much better look at.

He began to open his mouth to speak but decided against it they he presumed they would want to talk to each other and possibly argue over bringing him along not that they had really had much of a choice in the matter.
The boat rocked a fair amount as he knew it would but he was fine for now he would have to be if he was to one day do more here then just visit.

Looking at the pair he began to wonder if he could work out who they were no doubt the pony being larger then Sombra meant the female of that species was larger then the males or maybe she was just naturally taller it would be interesting to find out.
The obvious male of the two seemed more aggressive though probably for good reason as he was more careful and did not even enter to look for the captain leaving it to the female instead.

The non pony appeared to be feeling ill and watching he noticed him take his time to produce something that after taking it seemed to help him.
Some kind of medicine designed to fight against sea sickness.

If this world could have plenty of health benefits for others as well then perhaps it truly was not as bad though he figured it provided an opportunity to bring up a topic. He watched as he prepared to ask he needed to know if they were being honest and if they were even sure of whatever they said.

"So your also both primes right?" he asked wanting that question to be asked first to establish they were all in the same situation

"How are you finding life here anyway I mean presuming you all came from your own worlds" he said pretty sure all Primes did come from their own words though not sure how diverse they actually were

He could have asked where they were going though for the moment he did not want them to know that he did not actually know considering it seemed they had a map and everything. He was glad though they had chosen a more speedy vessel to save on time he after all did not want to spend too much time out on the ocean even if it was nice.

The island was now fading into the distance as it seemed it was too late to turn back now he now had to make sure these two stayed alive after all there was no way of knowing who else was out in these seas now.
he was interested in knowing from the captain how he felt about life in the Omniverse as well though he was pretty certain the man was not a Prime which peaked his interest even more.

"So Captain what is life in the Omniverse like for you and how did you get here?" he asked hoping he would get an honest answer for an honest question

They must had been getting close now though for the moment no islands or land at all could be seen but he was neither the navigator nor the captain so they could be almost there. He wondered why islands and an ocean had been chosen at all seemed like a waste of space for a being like Omni though he supposed the vast ocean made for the existence of things like ships to be useful though in his own world it had only been used for trade and warfare.

He noticed the companion of the white pony had been equipped with some interesting stuff that to him looked a fair amount like magic yet he was smart enough to know it was probably just technology from other worlds clearly he had come from another world of humans which again made him wonder why so many humans existed from different places. Surely then it was possible the white pony had come from a different world then Sombra yet he doubted that was true as they both seemed to act identical in certain ways.

Still he had been impressed so far by the worlds he had visited and he hoped he would see more soon enough.
Now he would happily accept questions from the others and if they asked none then he would stay quiet until they arrived.

Ah ha, Celestia's concerns were validated.  There was in fact someone following the ship, although unlike what one might have expected they didn't seem to have hostile intent.  A hooded figure approached the boat, introduced himself as Revan Noctis, and asked to join them.  Celestia pondered for just a moment, wondering just how far she should trust this sudden arrival.  She quickly concluded that there wouldn't be much point in turning him away, as that would have made it much harder to learn about him, and in truth she and Veritas still didn't have anything worth pursuing.

“Yes, I think we can take you on board, if you're certain you want to come with us.”  It did seem suspect that Revan would be so eager to join them without knowing where they were headed, but that would only change things if Celestia though he was being fully honest.  As it was, she was already reasonably certain Revan was the one following them, and she'd prefer to keep such a person where she could see them over leaving them free to cause mischief out of her sight.

Celestia looked to the captain momentarily, who frowned in disapproval at the change of plans, but made little comment on it.  “She's can handle one more easily enough,” was all he said as he prepped the ship for launch.  It didn't too long, with the boat being as small as it was, and the captain being reasonably experienced.  Very soon the journey was underway, and the boat was travelling away from Costa del Sol.

Veritas appeared to be having some trouble with the method of travel, although he was able to address his own problems.  Celestia thought he'd be in for a rude awakening, at least in his early attempts, though she decided not to say so directly.  “In my experience, the more sophisticated devices tended to be even more uncomfortable,” she replied.  She'd seen her share of inventors touting some new contraption that was going to 'revolutionize travel', but would do so only at the expense of the travellers, even if unintentionally.  Celestia grinned.  “Perhaps that's a problem you can solve?”

As Veritas seemed to be overall alright, Celestia shifted her attention to their newest companion.  “Revan,” she said, “I'd like to know a little more about you, if you don't mind.  Are you a recent arrival as well?”  She truly didn't now anything about him, and this would be the perfect opportunity to learn.  There was very little to do on a boat in motion like this, aside from speaking to one another.

Revan wouldn't have too long to discuss his history however, as their destination was not too far away, and would only take a few minutes to reach.  Celestia found the island itself beautiful, but rather unimpressive for what it was supposed to contain.  It was covered with a small forest, and had what amounted to a large hill in the centre.  It was surrounded by a few smaller islands, but they were sufficiently far apart to post no obstacle to their boat, and otherwise they had no worthwhile features.

As the boat got closer to the island, Celestis started to notice a number of small structures across it, made of an ancient stone.  It wouldn't be until the reached the island that the truth would become clear, that these once made up a much larger complex, but it had long since fallen to ruin.  Most of them were simply unrecognizable debris, but there was one that appeared to be a large, closed doorway.

When the boat hit land, Celestia would lift off with a flap of her wings to come gently down on the island they'd reached.

As they took the boat, to the island Veritas was quick to recover. Sea Sickness was not a pleasant thing to say the least, and he planned on recovering from such at his earliest opportunity. But was more interesting was Revan. How had the individual managed to avoid being seen when he had been spying on them? It was a mystery, and Veritas disliked mysteries. In the longhaul he was going to have to figure out how Revan did so, so he could avoid any future repeats of the situation. With that in mind Veritas thought about it. But he couldn't allow himself to dwell on it as eventually they'd made their way to the island that was going to be where they explored. Hopefully something of use could be discovered on the island, because Veritas needed more supplies for his arsenal. There needed to be more tricks up his sleeve than there were.

Upon setting one foot on the island, he'd ask Celestia and Revan. "So where to first on the island? We could investigate the ruins, check the grounds of the island, explore the place fully.... I'll let you two decide."

So it seemed they were now aboard the ship setting sail for the next island that was going to be his next adventure and this time he had two new companions.
He now needed to attempt to figure out what their deal was and what they were attempting to achieve by having come to this island.

It seemed that he had been welcomed aboard the ship which was good for him though he had little idea of what their mission truly was.
For a long while he simply stood alone though it soon seemed that the white pony wished to speak to him which was fascinating.

"I am" he replied to the white pony

"And what exactly is the name of you two?" he asked wanting to find out later if Sombra knew her

"So tell me exactly what is your mission?" he asked figuring it would be best if he knew

There was little to do now except talk and he needed to find out if his new found companions were trustworthy.
No doubt he knew they were heading to an island as that seemed to be all there was in this verse though which one and why was extremely important

"All I have to say right now is that I am going to have something to tell you but it can wait until whatever you are doing is over" he said considering partially if he even should tell her what he knew

The boat trip was quite a nice trip if they werent trying to get to the island as quickly as possible maybe he would have enjoyed the trip more.
The boat was closing in on the island soon they would arrive to the seemingly pretty island and soon they would have to decide what they were going to do once arriving.

The trip to the island they were heading to was apparently short as already the captain appeared to be heading towards a dot in the distance.
Time was short for any kind of discussion though any information he could get would be extremely useful to himseif he was going to be of help.

"I hope you both know what your doing" he said unsure of exactly how this would end

The boat was a bit rocky which must have been quite bad for one with four hooves though she seemed to be managing well.
The island was approaching even faster then he thought as they approached closer soon it would be time to hop off.

"You are certain this captain wont leave us here?" he asked not as trustworthy as they were he presumed

Finally arriving at the island entering the shallows he dove off the ship landing on the sandy shoreline.
Seemed like a reasonably average island easy enough he supposed letting the white pony continue to lead was the best.

Surveying the island he caught sight of what appeared to be ancient ruins stretched across the island though seemingly they were all formerly related to a larger structure.
It would be most interesting to examine them closer and learn more about them such was what his other companion asked curiously interested in letting him partially decide.

"Getting a closer look at the ruins could prove useful though we should attempt to keep quiet we do not yet know who or what else could be here" he said suggesting that they remain cautious

Of course he would leave the final decision up to the pony though he wondered what the captain would do with the ship in the meantime.
The island was going to take a fair amount of time to explore fully though so they had best get started to begin the exploration.

Already he began moving across the island towards the nearest ruins he decided to learn what was the purpose the island had been made.
If there had been people here before that built these structures then something must have happened to them perhaps they were even still here.

It seemed their other companion was not as excited as the pony and he were to be here though the adventure was just beginning.
Already they approached the first set of stones that looked clearlt degraded and he wondered if the others knew anything about the people that had once lived here.

Moving up to the stone formation he placed his hand upon them trying to work out if any secrets yet they needed to discover if every single stone had more secrets for them.
The stone was even older then he had already thought and he wondered if that meant Omni had made it old to begin with or if it had actually been new to begin with.

Before he left he promised he would find out at least some secrets of this place and he hoped it would prove useful and beneficial.
Now he did not need to continue lingering too long as he was sure his companions had at least some idea of what they were looking for and where they would find it.

Moving behind the white pony he decided to spend a minute watching and listening to her perhaps she would point out something he had not noticed or soon would. Her very form and existence left many questions he still wished to ask though perhaps now was not the time she would tell him more later if he truly wanted to know after this was over he would make sure of that.

The other companion he had continued to notice had many ideas on technology which a lot was very alien to him though he found that the omniverse being in it had opened his mind more then he had originally expected. This meant that he would perhaps discuss the technology that was being suggested at a later date no doubt other places like the larger island they had been to might have more technology for him to make use of something Sombra could not teach him.

Indeed the technology of the omniverse seemed very inconsistent plus the inclusion of magic as a completely different element meant that both could and would provide him with many more abilities this meant that he needed to gain more abilities if he was going to not only survive but also thrive in this strange world. Until recently he had been unsure if using magic was even possible and now he felt the same about technology though he supposed faith in himself and his own abilities would yet lead him to greater power and understanding over his situation he found himself in.

"What do you truly hope to achieve by coming here?" he asked wondering what the answer was interested in learning what they intended to do in the omniverse as a whole

The more he had seen the more he was able to work out that the omniverse certainly had its own history which interested him yet he had little way to discover it as of right now.
He was still surprised that nobody had followed them to the island though it seemed they were alone for now to explore as they wished.

Already walking around he wondered if the others knew where to go though it seemed they had little idea knowing where to go right now.
He hoped the captain also would not attempt to leave them such a thing as being stuck here would be extremely terrible to happen.

The island was most interesting to see and perhaps it would indeed have answers for him to seek and gain before it was all over.
Now was the time to find what they were looking for the secrets of this island were surely about to belong to them to discover.

Celestia would have otherwise replied to Revan's questions right away, as they were arriving at the island just as Revan was asking his questions.  As it was, she only had time to reply, “My name is Celestia,” before the boat reached land, and they all had something else to concentrate on.  It was just as well apparently, as Revan didn't seem overly concerned that his question wasn't answered.  He could be a patient sort, content to wait for the answer in due time, or he could just be so interested in the new things presented to him, that the mystery of the island superseded the mystery of who his companions were.

Revan had also cryptically stated that he had something to tell them, odd in itself since all three of them had only recently arrived, but he was also unwilling to explain what it was just yet.  Celestia supposed she would have to wait, and hope that Revan would be true to his word in tell them later.  She was content to let Revan speak in his own time, provided his silence wasn't obscuring some kind of threat, and the trio would have enough to focus on anyways.  Though Celestia would be keeping an eye on him, where she could, both because he seemed like too much of a wildcard right now and out of simple curiosity.

Celestia could do that while focusing on the circumstances at hoof though, and at the moment those apparently called for a decision.  She took a moment to address Revan's concerns, by saying “I am sure he will not.  I have faith that he wouldn't betray us, and it would be a poor tactical decision anyhow, given that we could make our own boat if necessary.”  She didn't feel the need to add that elaborate on the obvious implications, that the three of them could easily enough return to Costa del Sol to confront the captain in whatever way they saw fit.

With that hopefully resolved, Celestia turned to Veritas.  “I believe the most sensible choice would be the ruins.  The ruins aside, this island seems unremarkable as islands go.  Unless your book mentions something to be found outside of the ruins I believe it would be a time consuming way to search at best, and likely a fruitless one.”  She gestured to the woods.  “And, given how easy this island is to reach, I would expect anything of value on the surface to have been pilfered by now.”  Then she grinned.  “Besides, the ruins are what we're all here to see, aren't they?”

Celestia walked over to the doors, inspecting them.  They were large, stone structures, which if she was correctly assessing the damage had survived the destruction of whatever structure this used to be only to be cracked open later, presumably by treasure hunters of some variety.  The interior was dark, as could be expected with the place being long abandoned.  Celestia cast a quick spell, conjuring a little ball which emitted a soft light and would keep pace with her.  She gave her companions a moment to decided, to either catch up and follow her in, or to sit back a moment and let her scout ahead, before stepping inside.

"You're right. Going into the ruins is the logical choice."  Going into the ruins was not only logical but practical. If there was anything of value, it was most likely inside the ruins. It was as Celestia said, anything out here of any real usefulness had been pilfered already by others. Of course given that was what they were here to do, namely pilfer stuff Veritas supposed he couldn't blame the previous pilferers. Logically exploring ruins was the best thing that they could do while they were here. But he couldn't help but feel something was off about the newcomer Revan, he couldn't put his finger on what and wasn't willing to do whatever he had done to discover Celestia's powers yet.

When Celestia entered the ruins, Veritas followed suit. Once they had entered the ruins almost immediately a statue of a flame was on a pedestal in the first room. The glyphs on the wall were ancient, but read "Test of Courage" and when Veritas stepped onto one of the floor panels, a "hologram" which was actually an illusion formed in the room. The illusion was of an old man, wearing red robes, with a staff that had a fireball above it. The man was made out of red energy as well. "You who have entered my domain lack the courage to fight, and constantly suppress your anger. For that, I curse your weakness. Should you ever lose control of your rage, you will find a power that is unbelievable. You will burn away your enemies, but in the end your own flames will cast judgment upon you, warrior."  He'd lift his staff, firing a blast of red energy that smashed Veritas into the wall hard.  "I should kill you, for your cowardice. But I won't, Scion of Science. You will bear the Curse of the Crimson Flames until you die permanently."

"It burns, make it stop Celestia!" said Veritas, feeling like he was being burned from within, as the curse attached itself to him.

Looking over the island and ruins it still seemed shocking that he had come here from so far away and was now stuck here with companions from who knows where in the grand scheme of things all of them tied to meet here to complete this quest but for themselves or for Omni. He had to admit many answers to questions he had could be found here and he intended to surely see this through as he would need to do the same in the future if he were to ever finally learn the truth.

Revan took note that the ponies name was apparently Celestia a nice name he would be sure to easily remember it though it was strange that she seemed the opposite to Sombra in many different ways.
Though the others seemed rather unimpressed with the island he himself was not used to seeing such things though it was not the first time he had to admit he had seen islands even before coming here.

Continuing to examine the stone it seemed other pillagers had already been yet he doubted they had gained everything the evidence pointed that this place was still very defensible. He hoped there would be no dangerous surprises inside but then again what would be the point if this quest of their choosing was easy all would have been here by now.

Slowly Revan followed her over to what appeared to be doors which he had to admit was extremely exciting for him to witness as they prepared to open them.
Seemingly Celestia wasted no time opening them also summoning a small light orb which he was impressed with perhaps with training he could have one too.

Celestia was certainly more brave then he had first imagined her to be having taken the lead once again she seemed intent on completing their mission he had to admit he liked her tenacity it was something he would need to strive for every day. He however was not trying to keep himself hidden from any beings view this time as he moved forward to keep up with the four legged pony.

Revan made the decision to follow beside Celestia after all she was currently partially acting as his guide to this place a lot talkative then the other it seemed.
In truth a part of him did feel like he was being watched by the other though not all the time but enough he noticed it.

As Revan walked into the dark cold stone room his eyes fell over the details of the room noticing the statue glyphs and other such things he tried to make sense of it all.
He somehow understood the writing as he read it with his eyes yet he did not recognize the writing perhaps Omni had granted him this small ability most recently or maybe it was different somehow.

Carefully looking around he continued to study the room seemingly it had not been touched yet. It was perhaps good for them as it meant whatever they were after was still here though he could not help but notice the burn marks around the room as it were clearly something bad was here he just did not yet know what.

Revan however did notice as soon as his companion stood upon what appeared to be a trap just as he was beginning to wonder what the writing had meant a figure appeared presumably to answer that very question.
Then the figure began discussing though he appeared to be some sort of strange technological ghost as he stepped up and moved his hand through the being once or twice for good measure.

Strange more and more Revan seemed to be compelled and put into positions where technology far beyond what he had seen in his former world had been shown and proven to exist here and he was beginning to feel he had been kind of left out his entire life at least until obviously now. Any technology he saw he did try to take a mental note of however as he was certain there would be more and more as he continued his adventures as it seemed most beings in the omniverse relied on it to give them their advantages which had not escaped his attention and made Sombra and Celestia different in his eyes.

Still Revan knew they were now in extreme danger whether from the being or something else yet he knew they had not come all this way just to leave now and this was his first true mission kind of a good impression on the world if he stuck through with it though he had to admit he needed help.
He had not come here to necessarily fight however and for this moment remembered to listen as a ot could be learned from simply doing so though he was very unprepared for what was said next and what was shortly to follow.

The strange being began to speak of his domain and supposedly his companion had suppressed his anger which Sombra had warned him about just before about how it would make one a brute.
Suddenly the man was thrown into a wall behind him hit by some red energy clearly Revan had to think quickly or else maybe they both would be next in line for the same terrible treatment from their unexpected host.

The suffering of his new companion was not an option he knew he had to stop it from occurring though he had already attempted touching the hologram and harming it seemed impossible to him though quickly he began to form an idea in his mind on something he hoped would work. There was only one chance as he allowed himself to feel anger still not enough but with Sombra having guided him he felt the power he needed for his very simple plan to stop this terrible event from occurring.

Revan gripped at his sword handle perhaps this was merely an echo of maybe it would react to his actions of this he was uncertain but he had to save his new found ally.
Drawing the sword he rushed at the hologram slicing straight through it with ease as Revan landed on the other side of the being before turning to face it again.

He had not damaged the hologram as was to be expected he had not been expecting to damage it merely gain its attention and give it what it wanted and expected from them and judged them for not having.
He may not have the anger you seek but I have been learning from one that does and I ask that they be respected so long as I am here.

Of course his plan had been a long shot but he hoped the being would cease his attack with new found interest in him especially after being around Sombra who had taught him to use his anger among other things.
If it worked the being would no doubt possibly attempt to learn more about him and in front of the others perhaps he had already revealed too much or maybe not he was unsure.

Standing in a new combat pose he prepared to swing at the hologram again if that is what it desired though he was not interested in being tested by a piece of technology it simply did not deserve the opportunity and he would make sure it knew that. It did not occur to him that he would be thrust into such an odd situation but he sure was not backing down now that he was this close.

Celestia could feel the faint thrum of magic within the ruins.  Her abilities were a pale shadow compared to what they were before her arrival, but she hadn't lost them entirely.  So, while the sensations were faint, she could vaguely tell that there was a magical trap near the entrance.  In all likelihood, she avoided the trap herself by intuitively and almost unintentionally avoiding stepping anywhere that would trigger it.  And with Revan keeping step with Celestia as she entered the ruins it was Veritas, the person at the back of the group, ended up being the victim of the trap.

That Celestia had been able to avoid the trap didn't mean she was fully prepared for the consequences.  While she was expecting some sort of response, she was hoping there would be more chances to see threats coming and prepare for them.  Prior to her arrival she could have immediately started working on the problem, but in her current state she wasn't sure what could be done.  For a moment she wished she'd been the one afflicted by the curse, as she would have a sense how to deal with it, but she brushed the thought aside.  She seemed to be the only one of the group who had much experience with magic, and if the curse were to incapacitate her then they might have no one left who could address the situation.

While Celestia was still considering, Revan starting trying to attack the image.  It was a primitive approach to the problem, and one Celestia wouldn't expect to bear much fruit, but it was enough to snap Celestia out of her thoughts.  While she couldn't remove the curse, she could help the patient.  She'd need some time to focus, but they had no actual adversaries at the moment, and Revan appeared willing to play guardian or distraction should anything suddenly appear.

“Give me a few moments,” she said, announcing to both Veritas and Revan that she needed time, though with different reasons for informing each.  Then, tuned out the world around her, and concentrated.  A couple minutes later, she'd conjured a small satchel full of an herb.  “I can't safely do anything about the curse, but I can at least help with the pain.”  Gripping it in her magic, Celestia levitated the satchel into easy reaching distance of Veritas.  “Chew on these.  And let me know if and when you feel up to moving again.”

They wouldn't be able to move anywhere, at least until Veritas was fit to walk again, so Celestia returned to considering the curse itself.  The image said nothing about how the curse might be removed, or the the offender might be absolved of whatever his wrong was, but it did give some insight into how the curse would manifest.  Apparently it was meant to be a somewhat ironic demise, enticing the afflicted individual with power and then turning the their own anger against them.  It suggested a means to at least keep the curse at bay, but as it was Celestia did not know if should could sufficiently prepare or convince Veritas himself...

As the satchel of herbs landed near him, Veritas winced in pain. The herbs Celestia had mentioned surely could help with the amount of pain he was in. If nothing else the herbs could ease the burning down within him to manageable levels. Taking the herbs out of the satchel carefully he started to eat them all as quickly as he could. The pain he was in now was not something he'd like to repeat. A mental note was made by him.

Quote:Under no circumstances come to Ancient Ruins without magic of your own, idiot!

Thinking of what he had done wrong, coming here before he was ready Veritas eyed the 'mage' responsible for this. Hatred began to form inside of him. More than anything he wanted that individual to suffer. His rage at the individual was so strong  that his hands lit with crimson-blackish flames made out of dark magic itself. His eyes were lit as well.

The illusion turned towards Celestia. "You have no darkness within you, and no hate. For the curse your nature could compensate. Remember this warning...darkness burns but in the light of mourning shall extinguish your spirit!"  The being said that, before vanishing.

It seemed Revan's attempts had been futile though he supposed his other human companion knew the risks when he came here.
Sheathing his sword once again he decided to step back it seemed the being had turned to Celestia but had continued to ignore him though he was burning with rage he forced himself to stand back.

Now he had to figure out what they were all going to do or else they would certainly die down here. He sure wished he had the magic light that Celestia had but for the moment at least he did not.

Celestia appeared to have brought forth some medicine for her supposed friend which he thought was a nice gesture but probably would be useless in the end.
It seemed the man had been an extreme idiot to not look where he was going but that was irreversible now and he supposed it would be up to him to help protect the group while Celestia helped him Ceslestia had said so as much herself.

He decided to not say anything himself for now though as he was sure they would figure out there own plan soon enough and he supposed he was just a tag along anyway. He did however attempt a sneak peak at the wound that the man had suffered and it most certainly did not look good.

This place had proven itself to be dangerous and it was right that it had been abandoned though he would have used magic to seal this place up if he had been in charge. Yet here he was risking his life to gain the secrets of this place though he did wonder why he felt the need to sometimes and if he was not just trying to get himself killed.

He wondered if Sombra was having more luck then he was in his adventures of course there was no way of knowing for sure but the Pale Moors were possibly safer then this place though he supposed it was not right for him to presume such foolish ideas.

Now that one of them was down and so soon it seemed his belief in the others surviving this mission had dipped considerably though now he knew which way to go.
Looking and examining the others he thought of what to do perhaps going back now and finding medical attention would be best though perhaps they should just continue regardless.

"If you have a map or something I sure would like it" he said hoping they were not hiding any valuable information from them

"Celestia I could help carry him if you want" Revan offered figuring it better to keep moving whether it was further in or out

Looking around the room he wondered if scouting ahead himself would prove beneficial to the group though it was probably best that he stayed near Celestia and her light for now. He did not like the look of the place though and clearly more danger would be ahead waiting for them if they were not more careful.

"Celestia I hope your still up for this" he said wondering if the white pony was herself giving up

He did wish that he could see a bit better in this dark hole of a place but that is why teamwork at least with Celestia was necessary. He did however patrol the room looking for more traps and writing even if he could not really make sense of it you never know what you might find if you do not look.

He found very little in the end though from what he could see the place was rather empty with no things that could help them on their continued adventure.
Even the walls themselves he searched for any secrets but he still found none which still disappointed him further perhaps he was just not looking in the right places.

Bones and skeletons was not exactly what he was hoping to find though they were surely not in short supply at this point though he did decide to walk a little ahead. The stone corridor was cold as was to be expected traveling underground though he did surprisingly see a faint light at the end which made him feel uneasy.

Moving down the corridor he noticed more text on the walls though he could not tell what they said they were certainly dramatic as if somebody was trying to get his attention most likely warnings meant to get anyone to turn back but perhaps foolishly he continued on.
The light seemed to be brighter then he had first thought entering the room he found lit torches awaiting him as if somebody had been here recently which was extremely unlikely.

He made a quick decision deciding to take one of the torches off of the wall for his own personal light his eyes then fell upon the middle of the room on the floor appeared a camp fire which seemed slightly more bizarre to him. Walking over the doorway to the next room he looked up to find something slightly more disturbing the same message he had seen before but written in blood now had his full undivided attention.

Now he himself was questioning going forward who knows what they were going to eventually run into if they kept going on without any idea what they were even looking for. He needed to show this to Celestia he would not abandon them but it was certainly her call at this point no matter what he said.

Making his way back with his new found bright torch he went back through the corridor though quicker then before finding Celestia still worried for her friend.
Surprisingly it seemed the medicine was indeed providing benefits to stopping his pain which perhaps meant moving on was the desired option for the group.

"I feel it may be far more dangerous to move on though it is your decision" he said to Celestia beginning to trust the white pony a bit more

He felt fairly more vulnerable now then when he had first entered but that was not exactly a new feeling he had been in plenty of dangerous situations before though normally he knew what he was up against. The fight with the Trolls had proven anything could exist in this world and that only opened up a list of nightmarish horrors they could find down here and he only had his weapons to assist him.

He simply stood and waited for Celestia to answer him and do one last check up on her friend if they were going to continue on then they needed to take things slower then before. He just wish they would share with him how they had even found out about this place as it seemed none had come here for an obvious reason.

He was fine with leading the way now if that is what Celestia would have preferred though he doubted she was capable of carrying her friend she was after all not exactly the most strongest looking equine he had seen in his life though perhaps she would surprise him there too. Regardless if they were going to keep going now was the time if death was fast approaching he figured it be best to not keep it waiting for them at this point.

The herbs had the desired effect.  Veritas appeared to have recovered from the pain, at least enough to remain coherent, but now the real challenge presented itself.  In the darkness of the ruins it wasn't hard to see what was happening to Veritas' hands and eyes, and the words of the apparition rang in Celestia's mind.  Assuming it was speaking truthfully, and she doubted it was lying, this was how the curse attacked its victims, and ultimately killed them.

Celestia placed a hoof on Veritas' shoulder.  Her preferred approach would have been to talk things out slowly and gently, but she wouldn't have time for that here.  There was a life on the line, if Veritas' emotions couldn't be brought under control, he would almost certainly die.  Or worse.  “Veritas,” she said, “that is exactly what the spirit wants.”  Even if it wasn't technically a spirit, and she knew that, it might as well have been for her current purposes.  The image and the curse were sure to be both the will of the trap's creator, if nothing else.  “If you succumb to your anger now, you will die, in exactly the way it intended.”  Hopefully that would be enough for the short term, invoking Veritas' desire not to be controlled to snap him out of his current mindset.

The illusion addressed Celestia directly, and acknowledged her nature before passing on a warning, of sorts.  The way it was delivered made her think that it was meant to taunt or demoralize more than provide any actual advice, but it didn't tell her anything she didn't already know.  “Hmph, how vaguely threatening,” she said dismissively, after a moment.

Revan asked to see a map.  As far as Celestia knew, they didn't have one, but ultimately that would be Veritas' responsibility or decision.  He was the one with the book, after all, and if there were any maps to be had they would be in there.

Revan also expressed some concern over Veritas' ability to continue, as well as Celestia's own, which caused the alicorn to consider for a moment.  “I think it would be best to press on,” she said eventually.  She nodded toward Veritas.  “His injuries aren't physical, and as such I believe the best course of action would be to continue until we have achieved something.”  She paused in thought for a moment before adding, “or reach an insurmountable obstacle.”  She thought it would be better for Veritas to see this through, as it could provide a safe means to vent, and a more positive ending would probably be overall better for his mental state.  Of course if he objected or had a different opinion, she would listen, as he was one afflicted.

Celestia would wait for Veritas to stand up, and to show signs that he had calmed down enough to continue.  If he did, she would move deeper into the ruins.

"Let's keep going..."  said Veritas, shaken out of it by Celestia putting a hoof on his shoulder. When she told him that was what the "Spirit" wanted he immediately took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down. Right now anger couldn't do him any good. What he needed to do was detach from the situation. They were in a set of ruins that they had never before been inside of. For all he knew there could be some sort of cure or solution inside of this place that could be found by them to treat his condition. As Revan asked about this map Veritas simply tossed him a copy of the guide book made in 3 minutes of concentration. "We're not giving up until we succeed."  said Veritas.  "You are a good friend Celestia to be able to convince me to stop being angry when I needed it."  As they explored they'd come across another room within the place, a room that had a pedestal, well several. Only two held useful items, a strange looking sword and a weird looking gun.
