The Eternal Code, Shifted
#21
There were those who got irritated at small and trivial matters. There were those who had bad days. And then there was the King Sombra who was what one would get if someone took one of each of those,  no a hundred of each of those and blended them together. Once they'd used a blender to mix up that concoction of rage they'd stub their toes, get hit in the face and get assaulted. All in all? King Sombra was not in a good mood in anyone's definition of the word. Upon approaching some of the bipedal creatures that he'd noticed gathered he scowled. Were these creatures like the ones he had encountered in the Endless Dunes? Could they even speak Crystrallian? Were they hostile? Were they not? Those questions buzzed around within the head of the dreaded monarch of the Crystal Empire like a swarm of angry bees. His hooves were swollen and sore and his horn had a scratch on it courtesy of the individual he'd banished hopefully to the realm of Tartarus. For now he remained silent,  content to observe and see.

Glory ran over to Eda in concern and said with concern, "What people?"

As Glory ran off to question the new Prime, Creatia was still lost in her reverie... That is, until an all too familiar sound snapped her from her thoughts: the sound of clopping hooves, slow and controlled. Her eyes shifted under the shade of her hat, followed by her head turning towards the direction of the noise. She assumed another satyr had wandered into the vicinity. Well, if this assumed satyr could see through her human form, that is.

No. Not a satyr at all. It was an actual horse. It looked kinda cute at first to Creatia... But why was it alone? In fact, it was dressed in some sort of regal regalia, yet stood as if it had no human rider tending to it... Nor needed one. Her head tilted in a vague sense of curiosity as she turned some of her attention away from Jupiter towards the strange horse nearby.

Why was it staring like that? Was it mad? Did it mean to charge? Whatever its intention was... It wasn't moving. No, it was just standing there and looking at the split-up group of people. It clearly unnerved Creatia on first sight. But not enough to do much about it other than keep her guard up and turn her eyes back to the rest of the group, her eyes shifting towards the horse every so often. She noted that other than its dark stare and proud posture... It was also very fatigued. Something may have tired it out. Running too much, maybe?

Maybe I should... Approach it? Would it let me try and help it? She allowed the possibility to mull in her head for a while. But first thing's first. She was still listening to what Jupiter had to say during her momentary sidetrack. So her attention continued to stay split between listening to the hybrid and wondering about the horse.

To the others however, it may have just looked like Creatia glanced at Sombra, didn't find him interesting, and turned her full attention back to Jupiter. Nothing special.

Ebony heard the shouting and cursing of the other people who were appearing in the same area she was, so she headed towards them, after all, this was not her first time in such a situation, and in honesty, the last time something like this had happened, she had come out of it on the plus side of the equation. She decided to see if it would be the same here. She smiled a bit though, as the cursing, and shouting, and even punching of something she was hearing, seemed about right for a situation like she seemed to be in. She walked over to the rest of them, taking them all in with a glance, and figuring that the one yelling about scavengers must have previously been a creature that was not humanoid, and guessing from the anger and attitude, if she had had any gold or platinum, she would have bet it all on that one having been a dragon before coming here.

"There was an explosion," Eda spoke, holding back tears, "and (sniffles), I was probably the only survivor. This Omni... he saved my life and brought me into his Omniverse."

Glory certainly would not have thought that Omni could...well...have a good side to him, giving that he kidnapped all these people from their homes and making their family and friends mourn.

Does Omni even have any set alignment whatsoever? Probably not?

As Eda fell on her knees like a sack of bricks, Epi 3 stammered, "Oh, no! Are, uh, you OK miss?"

Then, Glory caught sight of King Sombra.

Must be part of the wildlife in this Omniverse., she thought.

Just after this, a previously unknown female voice (which was Ebony's) shouted, "Who are you and what is this place?!"

~ Once Eda had explained herself she struggled to her feet , every last inch of her body was sore . Her fear of this new environment swallowed down , she would not let those losses be in vain . She silently and outwardly promised that , the guilt turning to resolve . This place was a chance to do something more then be some television idol , she could feel it in her body . She was no longer just a human girl , something in her body had changed . Though she knew not what she nodded to the woman she was just explaining herself to , hearing another arrival . She also saw the pony and blinked in disbelief~

Sombra took a look at the gathered masses. Given his hooves were swollen and he had a scratch on his horn going up and saying hello was not exactly on his to do list to be honest. Perhaps he should head somewhere else in order to hone his skills with his dark magical arts. Given the bulk of his powers weren't working, he needed to discover why his power was not fully becoming what it should be...his. To some a place like the Omniverse was likely a dream come true but to others it was a nightmare. For the dreaded king of the crystal empire,  the latter proved to be the truth. Since most of his powers had been...ripped from him by that white retard Omni King Sombra needed to grain his powers.

Doing so was not going to be an easy task even if he knew what he had to do in order to regain his powers. Conquering this strange new world was not going to be an easy task. Despite his tiredness and soreness the former dark monarch of the Crystal Empire knew that he had work to do. The Crystal Empire had been a place that had been difficult for him to reign over. Given that the Crystal Ponies used the magic of light and love which was opposite of the power he possessed,  controlling them had been somewhat hard for the king of the Crystal Empire.

Still he had succeeded until Celestia and Luna had sent those six mares. The mares had been responsible for undoing all of his evil that he had brought upon the crystal ponies. Of course he should have anticipated that and come up with something to replace the heart with. Hindsight was 20/20, one supposed. In any case he now had another problem. Well several other problems to be exact. His aching hooves and hunger was something he was going to have to take care of. Some of the bipedal life-forms were looking in his direction and he was unsure about them. Considering what they could do to him was a complete and absolute mystery to him, King Sombra didn't want to take any chances. He was done being the king of all fools. Leaving the area was for the best as he couldn't engage in any combat currently, given his swollen hooves. Normally he'd prefer to treat his hooves and injuries immediately. But as he couldn't because he didn't have anywhere to go,  King Sombra looked around.

"Buck it!"

He'd start heading towards that gate that led to Camelot. Once he had arrived at the gate, King Sombra walked through the gate. It had taken him roughly 3 hours for him to arrive at that gate.

Erik turned to Jak, only to notice the man had vanished. Erik huffed and almost stomped his foot in frustration. His plans had been dashed, again. As Erik mumbled to himself about how he didn't need Jak to have an adventure, he spun around and realised that less than 100 feet away was a gathering of more or less new primes. The only well versed prime, pun intended, was a man with robotic attachments and a gun who was explaining the fundamentals of the Omniverse. Also among the group was a literal horse, some sort of elf and a girl wearing pink clothes so vibrant it made Erik's eyes hurt.

Erik immediately resolved to go over and greet the group. After all, two veterans was better than one. Erik speed walked over to the group and clapped his hands loudly, disrupting the surreal congregation.

"Hello everyone. I'm Erik Vrell, psychic, pleased to meet you. I just wanted to welcome you, one and all, to the Omniverse!" While he didn't expect a standing ovation, Erik was displeased by the reaction he got. There was a lot of confused yelling, before someone in the crowd had the audacity to shout,

"Do you work for Omni?" Erik's initial response was to grit his teeth. People could be so unnappreciative sometimes. But, he was committed to guiding these lost souls.

"No, no, no," The psychic chuckled, "I follow a different God." A few people shot him confused looks, but this was not the time to discuss religion.

"As this gentleman here has informed you," Erik said, gesturing to Jupiter, "We are primes, blessed with the power of immortality, at the cost of being trapped here to entertain Omni." A concerned murmur broke out amongst the group. What did he mean by entertain?

"Don't worry, stay calm," Erik addressed the group as if they were spooked horses. Ironically, the horse was keeping his cool quite well.

"To entertain Omni, all you have to do is go about your lives, which now mostly involves adventuring and fighting. And we do not perform without reward. Omnillium can do so much more than simply create objects. Gather enough, and you will become powerful beyond belief!" Erik threw his arms up in emphasis, his eyes glowing with misplaced enthusiasm. Realising what he was doing, the psychic quickly composed himself.

"So, um, what can I do for you?" Erik mumbled sheepishly.

In the distance, Dan could be seen walking away from the group. Too many people were showing up, and he was feeling more and more uncomfortable hanging around the group. Not to mention that what Jupiter told him was extremely valuable. All the turkey subs he could ever want! And all he had to do is concentrate. There were other bits of information too, though he didn't catch all of it. He was too busy thinking of what he would need for his plot

Oh yes, he was able to make all the perfect turkey subs he wanted. However, this wouldn't stop him from getting revenge. Oh no, even if he could get everything of his back, Dan was determined to see his revenge plan through. Even if it was simply for the sake of saying he got revenge, it meant something personal to Dan. In order to get started on his plan, he decided to leave the group and work on it himself, the tips of his fingers pressed together as he could just imagine the kinds of ideas he could pull off.

Thank goodness. They're starting to disperse...

Creatia, despite her usual shy attitude, loved to be quite the social one when it comes to people she thought were nice. However, as new primes and a few veterans other than Jupiter started to show up, she was visibly becoming more and more nervous. She couldn't handle this many people... What if they all wanted to team up and invite her? I mean... Strength in numbers, but... I... I...

Thankfully, as some began to wander off to parts unknown, Jupiter broke her out of her panicked thought train for a moment. "Do you have any more questions?"

Creatia snapped to attention immediately. Her earlier nervousness blocked out her attention span to some of the answers that Jupiter gave her for her earlier questions. "Uh... I... I uhm... I didn't.... I didn't catch all of that.... C-could you explain that to me one more time?"

A deadpan look ran over his eyes. "Still as attentive as ever."

Creatia flushed in shame, her stance growing more sheepish while she gave her apologies. "I-I'm sorry... Jupiter... M-mr. Jupiter. I uh... I'm still a little nervous, so.... I kinda, uhm... Well.... I-I lost track.... S-sorry..." Her ears folded downwards as she looked up at him. Why do my ears feel cold? There was a key difference between the last time they had met and now: Creatia didn't have her headphones on, revealing her alien ears underneath. She seemed none the wiser to this.

"C-can you... Please answer my... Uh, my questions one more time? I-I'll be sure to pay attention this time...!"

"Creatia. You should know by now, you don't need to call me Mr. anything. I'm just Jupiter." He sighed, stuffing his hands back into his pockets. She was always so nervous about everything. Occasionally it got on his nerves, but he at least understood why she did that. By now, it didn't even surprise him, so he let it happen without any word about it. But times like now, where she couldn't even refer to him casually, he had to remind her that she was his friend (no matter how unusual for him that was), and that she didn't need to explain herself anymore.

"Okay. Let me start again. Yes. You can start again after you screw up. I have, myself. A long story, but I'm not very powerful compared to most people here. There are a lot of people I can't beat. Basically, in this place, I'm actually rather tame." He went silent for a moment to collect his thoughts. "As for escaping? No, I don't think so. At least, not that I've heard. If there was a way, besides, I don't think I'm ready to go back yet. There's still a few things I have yet to do." Mainly saving a few people.

"Anyway, anything else?" he asked, crossing his arms.

"Sorry, Miste- I-I mean Jupiter! Yes, Jupiter.... Sorry... B-but go on?" She listened on as he repeated his answers, a relieved smile upturning her cheeks. So I don't have anything to worry about in terms of returning to ang certain areas.... That's good.

However, Creatia's relief turned into a very worried frown at the last response. It seems she may not be able to go home after all. So... What do I do? I was literally dropped here without anything to my name... I can't just start over...

You ain't stupid. Just think about it, okay?

That's right. She had promised her comrade that she would think about her options in case of an emergency. Well, now was as good a time as any to heed those wise words.

Think about it, huh? Well... I think Jupiter did say something about... Creating things? It did make that one guy leave with excitement in his eyes, so... I guess it couldn't hurt to ask more about it.... And why do my ears still feel cold?! She rubbed at her headphones, yet felt nothing but fur. Her eyes widened in a small sense of shock. No... No no no....! Her main accessory, her wireless headphones, were missing. They must've fallen off her head as she dropped from her home world. No wonder everyone kept mistaking her for a satyr; her ears were revealed to the world the entire time, including her ally.

She looked towards the hybrid to register any sort of reaction to her now exposed secret. Nothing, as the usual. She still felt uncomfortable about it, so she voiced the first thing she could think of. "Yes... O-one more thing. ...M-my headphones.... Is... Is there a... A way to bring them back?" Now her thoughts were starting to come together. "You said.... You could create anything here... W-within reason... R-right? So uh.... If you could create... F-food... (which was information she'll DEFINITELY remember for later) C-can... Headphones be made?"

"O-oh! And.... Uhm...." She fidgeted a little as she brought up something he mentioned a minute ago. "You... You said... That there was o-one thing you had to d-do... I think.... Right? C-can I..." She sighed a little to relax her nerves, "C-can I... come with you? A-as an agent, it is my duty... T-to keep the peace, so... E-Even if that holds no merit here, I still want to h-help others..."

"So please!" She stood a little taller now to emphasize her eagerness to be his ally once again. "L-let me help you with.... With anything you need, M- ..." She shakes her head to correct herself. "J-Jupiter! Let me help you... W-with whatever you have to do... Jupiter." If nothing else, she seemed adamant about helping the hybrid out... Even if she had to follow him like a hopeless child until he said yes. But he already knew that. ...Or at least, she remembered that he knew that.

"Yeah. Like I said, all you have to do is concentrate for a while," the hybrid replied to her worried inquiry. Before Creatia could push further with her plea to join him, he had to stop her. She clearly wasn't ready yet; she was still so damn naïve.

"Look. You can't come with me. Travel around and get used to the place. Then come find me." His silence called it a done deal.

"I...." She clasped her hands together nervously. Jupiter was always like this: cold and precise. But his harshness had some truth to it, even if Creatia wouldn't admit it right away. A quiet reply, "Okay. ...W-will I see you again... Jupiter?"

"Dunno. That's up to you." He uncrossed his arms and turned in a different direction. Giving a nod to Creatia, he made his leave. Now she was alone. This time, she couldn't just call anyone she knew to help her out. What now? Think about it... Hm. ...Well... She absentmindedly scratched at her fluffy ears. They wiggled in response. First thing's first, I need headphones. ...'Concentrate for a while,' right? So, maybe focus?

Taking a deep breath, she took a moment to clear her head and follow the hybrid's advice. An iridescent, rainbow-tinted swirl of light began to float in the air after a moment. It startled Creatia before disappearing from view. "W-what....?" What was that? Is... Is this what he meant? Giving it another try, she stood there and kept her mind silent. The emittance flowed through the winds again, coalescing into countless slim and shimmering threads. Reaching out her hands to greet the strange occurrence, the process started to make some sense. "I see..."

A few more minutes of exploring this new ability, and the strands took their final shape... A round ball. Apparently Creatia forgot to visualize the object she wanted. She blew up her cheeks in the best impression of an angry blowfish. Yet, the orb she was holding did aid her in recalling something vital; something Omni had told her during his short introduction.

'Think of what you desire most...'

"What I desire most...." the mage muttered to herself, thinking of her headset while closing her eyes. She aimlessly rolled the sphere in her palms, mildly intrigued by the feel of the substance against her skin. My headphones... They were part of a three piece communication kit. The other two part were... slim bracers with an LED touchscreen on each band.

The matter began to shimmer and morph against her hands.

Hmm... Holographic capabilities were included in the set, providing its own 'screens.' Access to the internet. Wireless capabilities. Able to act as a wireless phone and translator.

The round object divided into three malleable shapes as she held them in her open palms. They wiggled and shook, stretching to form two featureless, hollowed out cylinders and the makings of a very complex headband.

The set was... How did others describe it? ...Like a wearable smartphone! Yes, that's it. Uhm... Blue earmuffs with a teal trim, and a slim yellow light that glowed whenever it was on. The wristlets each had two yellow buttons and a large blue button... The blue buttons, when pressed, always brought me back to the home screen.... Home. I guess this is my home now...

She opened her eyes and looked down, giving the newly formed items in her hands a long hard stare. They looked just like her old equipment. For the first time in the Omniverse, Creatia broke into a smile. She removed her hat, then she latched the tech underneath her bell sleeves and onto her head. The satisfaction of familiarity washed over her as she pressed one blue button, the devices coming to life instantly.

She felt normal now in her headset and dual-wrist  communicator. Well... As normal as one could be when lost in a new world. She sucked in a breath while placing her sunhat over her device. "Okay," she told herself, "You may... you may be alone on the outside, but... but.... yo-you're not alone inside your heart! E-everyone back home knows... knows you're safe somehow... a-and..." She pumped her fist together in shy determination, "Y-you're just gonna have to make... make the best of it!"

With enough resolve regained to explore, she started walking in a random direction. She had no clue where she was going, but anywhere was better than this area of disturbing white.

"W-who knows.... m-maybe you will see him again down the line..." Jupiter was the only person she knew of that had physical strength as a positive. Without his help in this new world, she felt a whole lot weaker. She could only hope they cross paths again. She couldn't do this on her own... No! I... I can do this... I can! It's been done before. I've traveled by myself before! I traveled to find him and other people! I can defend myself just fine! It's just on... an eternal scale now... She held in a tight swallow. She was still a bit scared. Other people were walking around, so she clearly wasn't by herself. She has quite a few chances to find someone who had decent strength to alliance herself with along the way... Or at least make a friend.

The nearest gateway took her a few hours to reach because she traversed in circles while asking passersby many, many questions. She had a basic idea now of what she can and can't do in terms of creating items, but there was always much to learn. Creatia loved learning, so this couldn't be all bad. She steeled herself, then ran through the gates with a bit of a wobbling headstart. She couldn't wait to see what was on the other side.

...Wait! I forgot to make a weapon! ...Well, I'll figure it out when I get a few miles in! Time for a new adventure...
