Day 1 - Bag 'Em and Tag'Em
#21
Some hours later…

Ururu gave a backwards glance at the stadium as she left the monstrosity behind even as the battles raged on. She had her ass handed to her in spectacular fashion by something that had been only theoretical for the entire span of her life. Though she had inflicted her own damage on it… It showed her how much differences in ability her could exist even between two opponents who were on the same playing field.

That, she could feel in her bones as a likelihood.

Limping forward through the crowds, Ururu felt the presence of Hikaru. Warm skin wrapped around along with the aid of a shoulder for her to put weight on. The smell of burning agriculture, of sweets, alcohol that was watered down, none of it really meant a thing to her now. Only this warmness, the one who meant everything and who cared only for her.

They were back where they had been in the Nexus place, only this time a massive battle had been responsible for her weakness. Not a bad place to be. She was alive and she had seen something amazing.

Perhaps it would make up for her stupidity.

A hand fell softly across her face, wiping wetness from just under her eye. It left a streak of chill in its absence. In its place though a cheek pressed against her own. It nearly broke Ururu as the weight of what had happened fell on her. The weight the battle and of the Omniverse.

She didn’t want it

It was something Ururu didn’t want to bother to comprehend. Her emotions and actions lately had been chaotic at best, she barely felt in control half the time at that was being… optimistic.

“Come on, let’s get to an Inn for the night, first light we’ll go to that tech Planet everyone is talking about.” Hikaru said softly.

Ururu snorted over a half formed sniffle, “An, evil dark empire world. Sure sounds fun”

That was a least something more suited to her skill set. Not an even battle with no advantages. Infiltration, presumptions and preconceived notions of people, that was something even her nine year old self could have sunk her teeth into.

For her it was a heartwarming as a winter festivities greeting card. Something real, something to plan out. She could order her mind around that… and… and not be a child.

She nodded, “Alright love, first light.” Such simple words Ururu spoke and yet they a gleaming and relieved smile from her lover.
